Avocado cutting Pro Tip: You move and cut the avocado around the knife. Knife always stays still all the time in one hand, so no danger ever involved. Hope that helps someone : )
I was so relieved at the part when it was relieved your cat pulled through. Thank goodness! (I'm an experienced part-time cat shepherd, and would be honored to monitor his vitals for you if ever production duty calls again.)
As a new short film creator, I have found your videos really helpful! while writing my next short I have gotten a lot of inspiration from you so thank you! This was awesome to watch
Hello, I don’t know if you are interested in action movies but I am currently writing an action short/long film I guess you can call it and I was wondering if you could help me turn it into a film?
The first shot where you're speaking, but the actress with the splint isn't quite listening... I thought, oh she either doesn't want to be there OR she's in tight with with this guy. When I film with my wife, both the feelings come up, lol!
Dude, you’re an absolute legend and a major inspiration for our filmmaking community here on UA-cam. Please never stop! Looking forward to the next one brother 🙌🙏
I've been putting together a short movie recently, a sequel to one I made last May... Your tips have been SO helpful in improving my skills and I like to put on my own weird twists on some of the stuff... thank you for your content! I am so excited for my next movie to be done!
I did this for my First Ever Short Film Aswell the only catch was I literally had No Budget (no camera so used phone, no lighting, etc) it was a lot of Fun, But the One Big Thing i learnt from that was (pay attention) - Do Not Do Shots In Chronological Order, EVER. its just a pain having to go from place to place rather than taking almost all shots at once if they take place on that specific location anyways love your videos Standard Story Company, they help me learn about film making indepth :)
This was great thanks for sharing and Mehron is great washes with dawn and it has strawberry base if actor has near mouth I also use cranberry juice too mix in
Loved the insight and the breakdowns for this video! This is giving me a solid idea of where to go with my short I'm going to be working on in the beginning of 2023. Loved this!!!
I have an idea for a short film and want to know if anyone would watch it. It's called Web Cam, and you guessed it, is told through a laptop web cab. It is about a young boy who is recording survival blogs in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. It will be a one-man thing. One actor, one editor, (both are me) Not spoiling anything, it will record his journey of trying to figure out the cause of the apocalypse and find a cure while managing the battery on his laptop and the danger of constantly being outside to fix and manage a little thingy thing that gives him an internet connection. There is a big twist at the end, possibly revealing a part 2?
I love your videos. Please could you make video of recommended laptop hardware specs for 4k video editing. People forget how expensive laptops cost to edit film with digital cameras... many thanks.
This is such gold ! Seeing you at work is super encouraging, not going to lie - I just dusted my old project and ready to go back to shooting :) Btw. seen you use tripod and handheld only, do you ever use / recommend any gimball / rig ?
I don’t think we ever went over 25% for the day because it was pretty dim in that set. When you’re competing with real sunlight is when the full power comes in handy
@@StandardStoryCo thanks man. That means for your shoot... About 150 watts. That means you could benefit from an Amaran 200x for $300 & the 2x frensel if you ever run into those same type of circumstances like a shot in a garage.
Love your channel, man. I watch your content everyday for inspiration. I wish you could review some of my films, they're still pretty bad, but i'm putting a lot of effort into them. Thanks for all the inspiration.
Thank you for taking the time to help us become better storytellers! Hope you all continue to enjoy doing this! Before I go, just wanted to say that God loves you all, and He proved it by sending Jesus His Son to die and rise for us. We've all, including myself, sinned and broken God's Laws and deserve hell as eternal punishment according to the Bible. But if we repent of our sins and surrender our lives to Christ, we will be forgiven and receive eternal life as a gift!
Appreciate the content except almost every video talks about unethically returning goods to Amazon. You should know most of it will end up in a landfill if you do that.
Really enjoying your videos. However, in this one when you more or less recommend people order props from Amazon and then return them after the shoot, you lost me. Most of those returns go into those infamous bargain pallets people buy. The seller loses a sale and has to refund the money. If you are selling items and people basically treat Amazon as a rental unit and just return things after using them, then you will not be in business very long. I know you are on a budget, perhaps use thrift stores, they have tons of things that can be used and are very cheap.
I agree with your comment! I hope @StandardStoryCo sees this could do something about it or atleast address the issue and drop the part from the video with UA-cam studio if it allows to still make changes
I think you said you ordered items off Amazon fully intending to return them after using them for your purposes. I wish I hadn't heard that because I so enjoyed your videos but now I can't watch any more. So unethical.

It was nice seeing how someone else shoots short films, I'm still learning so I appreciate all the BTS! keep up the great work.

The one two punch of short film and breakdown videos of said short film. Such a great way to learn filmmaking. Love to see it. Thank you!
I've been lacking so bad when it comes to writing I need to get back in the game
Writing is key! Try to pop out just a new sentence/line everyday, you'll probably end up writing way more
@@StandardStoryCo Thanks for the advice I'll definitely try that ❤
Pro tip: writing is infinitely easier when you start by listening to In Motion by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross from The Social Network

Hello, I don’t know if you are interested in action movies but I am currently writing an action short/long film I guess you can call it and I was wondering if you could help me turn it into a film?
i’m writing a thriller
That was great, I watched the short film as well, it was cool to watch how you made the film
I've been looking forward to this since first seeing the short. This was really a helpful BTS video in so many ways.
Thanks man! 🙂
This is the problem with short films. The story about HOW the short film was made has at least three times as many views as the short film it self.
Your channel is the best for learning filmmaking and to find inspiration. Thank you!

I enjoy your subtle humor and how informative you can be. You make it feel easy and not as complex to make a project happen.
Thank you!
Nice atmospheric smoke, most times I feel like people fill the room with way too much.
Thank you for this video... I'm in this step right now... a nice trip is on the way!!!!🎬🎬🎬
Congrats on getting the film done under such pressure. Really appreciate this behind the scenes look.
i actually really enjoyed the little helpers, really good short film!
Your awesome dude! 2 weeks! Impressive man! That films bomb! You're so inspirational! Thank you
Very impressive and inspiring to see! I love it!
Did the exact same thing with an avocado. Lots of stitches. Hope she gets better soon.

Man, if you’re ever looking for a screenwriter, I can come up with good film ideas you might like. I’ve always wanted to help make a movie.

these videos are indeed helpful.

Dont weorry man it was esomely dope
i just bought that 600 KNOWLED BI
That is awesome, and very inspiring!
Thanks, glad to hear it!
Nice one!
although you said that you working on a lot of things in this film sacrifices quality, i think it turned out outstading
Could you please do a video on how to edit someone's face in a movie like the color grade adjustments.

Hey what power level did you use the M600bi. I'm trying to get a guage as to how much power I'm going to need for my own upcoming project.

Where is that location. The interior is exactly what I need for my short I’m working on I just have no location
Where did the "Jingle Bells" track used in this video come from?
Awesome video
Hope u make more video
The best rest period between projects... the amount of time to forget why you said you would never do this again ;)
Where can we see the short?
The shoot plan template link is not working
Ohh my gosh.. I'm glad I saw this.. I am literally doing this myself right now minus the DOP inclusion ahaha.
I wonder what is the average amount of shots one can get in a day.
These days it's "in the card".
You can tell when a story has no reason to be told. No intention. Just random imagery put together for the sake of ego.
Do you contact companies like godox or did they come to you?
They hit me up

Try 44mns of film time in 2 days for a feature. Then we can talk.

Also causing prices to go up for normal people and hurting small business owners who sell on Amazon.... just overall not a good look.
