I told my friend that his musical IQ would be permanently altered after listening to this. He's been drumming since we were like 15 and we're almost 40. Still can't touch any of these guys. It's like every member reinvented how to play their instruments. Every time I listen to this album, I'm more and more just blown away by how fantastic it is. So happy I found this. Kinda upset I didn't find it sooner, lol.
have you listened to their EP, or muse? amazing pieces of work and if you listen to the EP->muse->renaissance->TMH->NLND you can hear the DRASTIC change happen so gradually its amazing. glad i been listening through it all since a kid. even have a signed muse cd lol
The thing is, they were probably being inspired by musicians of your era. Nothing to be upset about. It’s just the evolution of music. You should be proud knowing people like you helped spawn these guys. Rock on bro!
So Diverse in Sound and Yet so Cohesive in Style It's a Real Masterpiece Unique on the Desert of Nothingness there is a Real Gem Let's enjoy on and on!!!!!!
BRO. This drummer is not good to Copy. He uses samples at the same time than playing. I believe thats garbage cheating. And his beat isnt even that complicated when you separate it. Try Animals as Leaders😂
First time? They are pretty solid players. Definitely good songwriters. I wasn't very impressed with their improv when Steve Vai had them up at a G3 event. Definitely out of their element in a jam session, BUT as they get older, that will change. I look forward to hearing what these guys do when they are at my ripe age of 36, lol. I've been playing since I was 12. When I'm at full gear and keep up with practice, I can play pretty close to this level now. Took pretty much all my playing years to get here. These dudes got here in their early 20s. They had access to some amazing resources growing up that were much more developed with youtube and the internet being as mature as it is. A lot of kids are playing at extremely high levels these days.
I am suffering from the "...where the Fk have I been?" syndrome. I just heard Polyphia for the first time about 2 weeks ago. And, I thought Guitar Heroes were a relic of the past. Not so, the future is in some very capable hands... Thx for the experience.
Me too, here I was thinking rock has stopped evolving and everything was a rehash or a throwback. I have pleasantly been proven wrong, this stuff is the future!
Hearing Florence makes me think Tim is saying this to his guitar. This is what i imagine that conversation would be like Tim- tell me... what qualms your desire? Every word you say can and will be used against you, and I'll force you to answer for every single syllable you utter in the most uncomfortable way possible. The guitar- please hath mercy and hold me dearest to your heart. Tim-i will represent you in a light and loved manner while exploiting you for your trauma while leaving a piece of myself for you. .
For me you are the best.. incredible composition.. drummer from an other planet...the band GOD...(i was 53years old ex HC manager) INFECTED YOUTH 2lps 3tapes 1988-1989... great my friend..
Just opened animals as leaders - physical education while working on a project and I did not checked what is playing, being a stranger to AaL I thought this beautiful piece of music was played by AaL very good job guys.
Old metalhead me, checking out who these guys are. They might look like a just a bunch of pretty boys, but damn...these guys can play something awesome. Yeah I know, fuck me and my prejudices.
What? Don't let any old schoolers that there is no good music today, nothing original and that young musicians don't have any energy, bullshit. This is light years beyond anything' back in the day.' I was there...
I think "curation" is the word of the day. when there is so much literally generated "content", it makes the viewing experience that much worse. In comparison, there are plenty of books commemorating the actually best or worst of something, or just better organized media to help you navigate better. I believe it's up to us to learn the patterns that are toxic to us and start filling up those empty slots with actually curated media, stuff that helps you and gives value to you in some way, shape, or form. Something that makes you feel like your time is valued.
@@7riXter It might help to try to actually wrap your mind around their big picture. Take a step back and truly appreciate the journey they're on by comparing their Inspire EP to Renaissance, then to New Levels. How does 5 plus human beings create such listenable music to all off us that apreciate it THAnKS to a person who lives in south Africa 9th st studios scott love you man for introudcing me to this band.
Yeah even though I love a lot of their new songs a ton, and have favorites of the albums that came after this one, I think this will continue being the album I always come back to.
Unpopular opinion: This cool and they're obviously ridiculously technically proficient, but I feel like this is all at one level (intense), and my ears get sick of it really fast.

This album is a masterpiece. Absolutely incredible.
Everything they do is flawless.
One of the best albums i've encountered in the past year
Went in with low expectations, was completely blown away.
These bois don't mess around
Pooof mind blown
Low expectations is the best way to be blown away, high expectations can produce the opposite effect

Guitar heroes are very real in the present. Plini, I Built The Sky, Scale The Summit are all outstanding musicians. Glad you jumped the bandwagon
gives me goosebumps every time, still can't pick a favourite, light, nightmare, florence, amour, euphoria, bittersweet dude this album is crazy
Love the art you chose for each song
Seconding this!
Thirding this!
Fourthing this!
(x + 5)thing this!
My favorite songs off the album are: Florence, Amour, and Euphoria
Florence is so fucking good
I'm mad at myself for just recently discovering these guys. Unreal. Thanks wsou pirate radio!
This album is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard in my life.

Best PolyPhia album hands down
Mindblowing album, just doing some homework and listening to this, kinda blues but rocky. Cool. Awesome. You too.
This album will always have a special place in my heart.
This album's the soundtrack to my training arc

completeley agree. I'm only 23 years old, so not an old metalhead, but a guy who likes oldschool stuff and these guys blew me away.
A melodic masterpiece.
God level album
I always wonder how they look at their set list and know what song to play
Lovely, musical, full of soul .)
really good album, love it.
What an album!!! Outstanding
the guitar drums and everything is BADASS
What? Don't let any old schoolers that there is no good music today, nothing original and that young musicians don't have any energy, bullshit. This is light years beyond anything' back in the day.' I was there...
Thank for the full album
Well Spoken. Love What I’m Hearing So Far 👌

This band is absolute.
Soooo gooood!
Este disco es una joya!
this contain my highschool memories
Hmm.... I actually like 40 Oz and Playing God more than this whole album. But the standouts to me are Symmetry, Amour, Ivory
How the fuck do you always come up with the best fucking hooks.
Great songs!
this is Heaven
Can't believe only ~190,000 views. This album is pure gold
I feel like I know you maybe remnants of Artifex, regardless … I fkn love this. Satan loves smooth jazz and so do I.
Just wondering if the covering for Ivory @25:15 is taken at Guggenheim?🍀
11:13 Best part
Sooooo gooooood
Ivory ♥️
Best riff ever
djent...come back to earth!
Sounds good
4:24…..wanna hear more of this at extended length
reminds me of human sadness by julian casablancas and the voidz
i mean the beat and tone and everything lol in the intro…
amazing
Espectacular.
Mind blowing
nightmare tho, sooo good

Very sad my cd this lost. I had it box only. ,,,
The build up for Nasty is quite something. The whole album is.

starting to feel like half of them are mine.
not easy is it? to get that balance right.
Someone knows the name of the sculpture album??
Renaissance
Lsd trip background
I would not recommend tripping to this, too inorganic and technical, unless you just want to have a bad trip. Feel free but fairly warned.
@@kennywowie what WOULD you recommend then?

bruh, just use ad block
This is good stuff. Joe Satriani was doing this kind of stuff 20 years ago not to diminish what Polyphia is doing but just recognizing the pioneers.
20? make that 40
all that butter sweep picking mmmmmm
after listening to Joe Satriani for the first time (thanks for the Discovery man) I can't really understand what they have in common
Wtf can you explain what they have in common?
This reminds me of Liquid Tension Experiment.
am i tripping or does paradise have moaning sounds sampled in it??
Great!
btw , See ya soon in NOLA with I, the Mighty
WTFis this shit?? Shredding like it’s some great day. Crushed
Bittersweet, Crush.
You can almost perfectly decode Culture Shock as Clock Structure by reusing a few letters and having a left over H.
This album is better than New Levels New Devils

Is this still post rock
Not post rock at all, mate
Yes it is.
