I've been making furniture using epoxy (as a hobby) for a few years and people have absolutely no idea of the material costs and the time to prepare. This video is on the button and thanks so much for taking the time to make it. BTW - you are so underselling your work buddy!
location & business setup ppl. His price, your price and even my price will never be guessed at the same-period with the same pc. to say one is underselling their work it takes gull because you, I, & him ..we all can say the same too & about each others work.
Great video - I am making a coffee table for a girlfriend nothing massive just 1.3m by 0.5m using a lovely piece of English Elm. But man the cost has shocked me especially the cost of the epoxy ! The wood I get the cost because its one of a kind but the epoxy is a crazy price. I think its cost me about £400 but she's worth it :)
You are the closest video I could find to answer my question. I’m curious to know how you charge for your epoxy pours? I’ve been trying to break it down by how much it costs per ounce. Do you charge per ounce of epoxy you use ( as part of the other costs)? Hope this question makes since. Thanks.
What people ask for something and what they get are two different things. Speculating and custom build are different too. Making tables by order the way you're doing is best because you get to do what you love, create something that somebody wants and loves, very little to no risk all with somebody else's money.
You are pricing way too low period. I live in Hawaii and I paid $2,500 for wood, $1,600 for 15 gallons of deep pour and I need at least 8 more gallons to finish it, pigments, tools, and all the other bunch of material. How much M I going to sell this L shape 96x96 table? It's for my kids homeschooling room, but men you are selling your stuff way too cheap. Price it right and the person with that income will buy it. Don't worry about how much other people are selling their stuff.
Thanks for the video. Dont sell yourself to cheap. I've been an entrepreneur all of my life and always was to cheap. I'm 52 and interested in starting a new business. I always wanted to build some type of creative furniture. I'm retired in the Philippines. Poor mans retirement. I need to get something going back in the U.S. in Phoenix area where my kids are. Would you he interested in a small investor in return for mentoring. Just a thought. Throwing it out to the Universe. I'm now a subscriber, best wishes either way. Michael Harwood
Bro never ever ditch anyone over what they charge. WTF. You've got to figure in your tools your time your expenses there are several costs for each individual. Everyone has a different cost. Please think before you say something. You were saying that this table was too much, never ever. I'm just trying to be helpful. We all have different costs and depending upon where we live and the wood you can buy there. You were going good until you ditch their prices.
What about labor and rent ... people can bitch about that but they don’t get it ... car washes cost ten bucks to twenty and all you do is drive onto a thing and then leave ... it isn’t about the cost of materials alone ... it is the cost of maintaining the place to do it and more I bet hardly anyone buying a table could build one either even with the set up you have I just started with casting resin into wood projects it’s not simple

Seeing these tables in the $15k to $50k, you're practically a hero at that point. As a potential epoxy hobbyist, epoxy prices I've seen are expensive.
