I have heard some people call this, "the most *movie* movie of all time." Like, how much of this could ONLY work in this particular medium? Film language is absolutely magical. In no other medium could a man step into frame with a trophy up his butt, and you IMMEDIATELY understand: ah, he knows kung-fu now. 😂
It’s small thing, but the universe she saw without Waymond is literally a “universe without Joy”. Every single thing about this movie keeps getting better and better
I didn't think of that, but I love when she says to her father that she might be "strong enough to save my Joy." So many layers all over the place in this movie!
A lot of people focus on the absurd elements without realizing that's the point: normal is relative, but love is universal (or, multiversal). Whether that's a close friend like Raccacoonie and Chad; or a relationship like Hot Dog Evelyn and Hot Dog Diedre; or a whole family like Evelyn Prime, Joy Prime, Waymond Prime, and Becky Prime. (And I guess Gong Gong Prime, too, though he didn't have much of a reaction to the ending reconciliation...)
When people say there's nothing "new or creative" in film anymore, they've clearly not seen this film. I'll be so disappointed if it doesn't get at least a nomination for Best Picture at the Oscars to reward that inventiveness.
I agree!! It deserves a number of awards, including Best Picture and Editing. I think it'll be penalized for um, content, and go home with best editing (and maybe directing!)
When people say this I'm pretty sure they're talking about major Hollywood productions. A24 has a pretty good track record of taking solid creative risks. The Hollywood machine doesn't make creative projects anymore because it's too monetarily risky. But plenty of alternative film productions from Amazon to Netflix, and smaller production companies like A24 create constantly new and refreshing projects. So big picture companies stick to existing widely known IP's because it's guaranteed to sell tickets.
I’ll be surprised if this movie doesn’t clean house come awards season! I don’t normally care about the Oscars, but given his acting journey, I really hope Ke Huy Quan gets best supporting actor. He deserves it.
I'm guessing it will pay off big time at the Independent Spirit Awards, and maybe a lot of Critic Awards, but I do hope there are Oscar nominations for just about everyone.
There are no categories that it shouldn't be nominated for, and it would need to be an amazing competitor to beat it in any. Only problem is there are three women and only two categories so two of them have to compete.
I had no idea what to expect going into this movie, I had just heard people rave about it, didn't watch the trailer, all I know was it has something to do with a multiverse. And even while watching it I had no idea at the start that I'd be crying my eyes out for basically the last half hour. This was like a complete reframing of nihilistic existentialism, if nothing matters, it falls upon everyone to make it matter to ourselves. I legit could probably watch this movie again and again and not get sick of it, and that's rare in itself.
This. So much this. For those of us that struggle with a feeling of hopelessness or pointlessness it was a good reminder that joy in life is our own responsibility
LOVED the googly eyes you edited onto your Obi Wan poster during the climax!💞 I was so blown away by this cinematic masterpiece that I ended up seeing it 15 times in theaters, taking countless friends and co-workers with me each time!
It is deep while remaining on the surface It's so emotionally heavy but Ends up weighing nothing It is complex and simple constantly in flux from one to the next It's gritty and smooth. It is as close to perfect as any film that will exist in my life. I remember after my husband and I saw this in theaters I was so taken aback by what I saw, I was crying but not sad, laughing at the absurdity but remained fixated. Michelle yeoh has been great for years, she was flawless, but holy shit ke huy Quan brought such light and life to everything, not just the movie but every time I see him on an interview he's just awesome. And in the end, the story was basically SO simple, a strained mother and daughter struggle to reconnect, and they only get better when they both accept themselves, in every single circumstance. And this all happened at the IRS and their business. That's the plot, the rest is a chaotic path that cannot be explained because it's not a real path. --->TO ME
Though as a native Chinese, I saw and got a little bit "extra" from the movie, such as the dialog in Chinese, and the song Waymond hummed as sweeping the smashed glass near the end. But eventually this isn't just a movie about Chinese or Asian American or immigrants, it's about the universal thingy we can feel and grasp as a human, it's about love. Truly a masterpiece. Thank you for this lovely reaction video!
Not even just love. That’s important too. I hope everyone finds it. But waymond said it best “Just be kind”. You don’t have to love, you don’t even have to like someone to be kind to them. Do not mistake this for being a push over. There are many situations where you can, and MUST fight back. Where love is not enough. That kindness needs to take the wheel. That’s my take-away anyways.
@@Makawav It’s interesting that I am currently listening to a (very deeply researched, labor of love) historical fiction series about an angry young man striving to be a knight in medieval Europe… and that element of patience and kindness, buried in ambition & youthful impatience early on as he learns his trade in the midst of terrible scenarios, is what he strives to nurture in himself as the books go on.
@@Makawav I think kindness is a type of love. What you're talking about, where kindness takes the wheel in fighting, is often called "tough love," after all.
@@revangerang sorry but I have to disagree. While kindness can certainly be a form of love, that doesn’t mean it always is. Giving money to a panhandler is kind. Doesn’t mean love, though surely it can. I’m gonna leave that there, but I have a better example. A person you actively dislike trips and falls. Do you walk on by, or do you give them a hand up? And if you do, was that an act of love? I feel as though the message is more, even if you aren’t feeling the love in the moment, be kind anyways. Our minds go to all sorts of places, and we get frustrated and depressed and otherwise wrapped up in ourselves. Give it an honest shot to be kind even in those low moments. At its more pure, of course being kind is an act of love. But I don’t think it’s universally applicable in that sense.
@@Makawav I can see why you feel that way. I personally think it is, though. In the examples you gave, it might not be an expression of love for that person, but it is surely an act of universal love for your fellow humans, imo. But I think this film believes it goes even deeper than that. It tells us that in the very first thing Evalyn has to do- confess her love for Deirdre, her hated enemy- and mean it. And she does mean it, when it ultimately works. So much so that the mantra of "I love you I love you I love you" in the background music takes the form of Clair de lune- the song Deirdre is playing on the piano during a moment of pure love in the universe where they are actual lovers.
I was lucky to catch this in theaters. It was amazing. We were all laughing, bawling and sniffling. Waymonds part absolutely broke me. When she can’t understand how he helped and his voice breaks when he says, “idk. I just talked to her.” 🥺🥺 Then we see all the little moments of his kindness and silliness that makes her happy. That’s what they were both missing. Her and Joy. Remember when Joy says that’s why she was looking for her mom? To see if she could see something that she missed. They weren’t seeing Waymonds kindness. Also, the bagel represents Joys despair and depression. At the end, it’s super important that it’s Joy who reaches out for her moms hand. She wants help. Then Joys speech about letting her go? Omg the actress is so good. Then their embrace being shown with planets colliding? Like it’s saying that’s just as powerful? So beautiful. I’m crying all over again. Lol 🥹🥹🥹😭😭😭
The only thing more universal than its themes, is the universal aversion to paper cuts. Not everyone cried in the theater I went to, but rest assured everyone WINCED.
This film is a triumph. It was the first film I saw in the theaters "post"-pandemic, and I was shook. So much crying in the theater. I'm glad it moved you. Your review is what I needed today!
The amount of times I was trying to collect myself and started laughing and then wanted to choke on my laugh because something got serious again and then it went ridiculous... I've never had that experience while watching a movie.
Your analysis, your reactions throughout, the joy - disgust - shock- heartbreak...you gave us (say it with me guys) Everything. Love the movie, really glad it impacted you this way.
I can't remember where I read this, but I believe the directors wanted to try to make acts of kindness just as compelling as any John Wick movie. I think they succeeded
I love that this is also one of your favorite movies. I haven't really known how to answer the "what's your favorite movie?" question for decades. Now I do. This movie is just so phenomenal on so many levels. I've been trying to process it for weeks, and I still think of new things I like about it. I have no idea how this story was put together so fantastically well. It really is (somehow? absurdly?) Everything Everywhere All At Once
During the paper-cut scene nearly everyone in the theater was cringing SO hard, writhing around and contorting, lol. I dunno why but that really seems to affect people!
It's one of my all-time favorite movies. Beyond all the indescribable beauty and chaos of the movie as a whole, there is that feeling of slowly building exhaustion that never quite goes away and the disappointments you never quite get over. And sometimes the easiest thing to do would be to let yourself just drown in the existential depths. But I think Waymond is right; when you don't know what is going on and you don't know what to do, just try kindness. And maybe you can start to heal your own pain and the pain you've caused others.
When I first saw this movie in the cinema a few weeks ago I went in virtually blind. And on first viewing there was so much going on that I don’t think I got it all. But it absolutely got all of me. Now I’ve seen it many, many times (and it still never fails to make me cry), and I hoover up reaction videos on UA-cam because I want to enjoy other people experiencing it for the first time. As a result I have come across your channel for the first time, and you have absolutely nailed it, funnylilgal. Spot on in your reactions, analysis, humour and emotion - and the little editing jokes are even a little bonus. Another great find.
I was so not prepared for this movie. I had low expectations...I was blown away. Crying, laughing, cringing, sometimes all at once. Watching people react to it is so much fun because I KNOW the moments they start to realize the ride is beyond anything they expected.
I just got my copy last night and watched it for the first time and was equally blown away. I've since watched some of the press junkets and even the cast couldn't understand it when they read the script and shot it, but in the end they realized it was about love, so that's about as succinct a description as I can think of.
Just got this on 4K and can’t believe how much I liked it. Already looking forward to my first rewatch. From that opening "thru the looking glass" shot, the Daniels had me hooked Just wonderful. Enjoyed your reaction as always!
This was a much better way of explaining the multiverse than "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness". This was a GREAT movie, the Daniels directed this and hit it out of the park.
You truly got the story on a first watch. All spot on. With all the chaotic universe jumping, at the end is all about the mending of a family that has started to see a crack. This is a movie that just had the whole universe aligned. The cast, the script, the acting,production/set design, fantastic Editing, costume, makeup, fight choreography, cinematography, lighting and vfx, that only had 5 talented people working remotely during the covid period. It certainly put Marvel to shame with what they can do with 1/6 of the budget. And lastly, the Soundtrack by Son Lux blew my mind. The Daniels has done it again...please watch " Swiss Army Man" which was another movie directed by them before this one.
This is my time viewing one of her videos, and I really like her reactions. My adoration started when she snorted with surprised laughter at 15:52. Absolutely loved it. It's gonna be fun watching her other videos and I can't wait. Success! Made me rotfl. Well done!
I love the reactions on your face for all the emotional parts, especially when Evelyn said my life was beautiful and the shock on your face with tears. Empathic
First Arcane and then this movie comes out, not only has this last year hit it out of the ballpark with just these two works of art, but you've reacted to both too! This movie has become my favorite movie of all time for its sentiments. First time I was giggling while simultaneously sobbing, without holding back, in a movie theater. I'm so happy you got to experience this movie, I'm get these feels right alongside ya!
I finally got around to seeing this movie. I really enjoyed this movie: unique action, funny at parts, beautiful visuals, and the parts that made me cry. All of it was just superb. Love all your reactions to the diverse experiences this movie has to offer. As usual, you nail it with your analysis and insight. Love this channel!❤
This and '1917' are probably the only two films I would rate as 'masterpieces' that have come out in the last few years. From the performances to the camera work, those two pushed the industry a little further into what was possible. This was also a heartwarming tale which got me misty eyed more than a few times. Didn't hurt that it had my favorite actress in Michelle Yeoh. Still the greatest Bond girl of all time. And Ke Huy Quan deserves a best supporting actor award for this role. Simply slayed it.
Oh, FLG, you are so exquisite in your reactions. Don't think I have anything cohesive on what the film is about either, but I can offer one admiring observation on the mechanics of its storytelling: in dazzling, perplexing, and constantly surprising your rational mind, it finds openings to bypass your distracted objectivity and impact your emotions more directly. That's a big reason the more poignant scenes hit like a jack hammer, I think. A little nuanced intimacy goes an amazing long way in this film.
An absolutely brilliant movie that frees the audience from the constraints of mere reality through whiplash absurdity in order to leave them free to actually feel. I do hope it gets a boatload of Oscars, but I suspect it won't, due to it being too weird for a lot of people. Although I'll be particularly upset if Ke Huy Quan doesn't get best supporting actor at the very least.
The fact that this movie and the three main people (Michelle, Ke Huy, and Stephanie) aren't getting more hype for awards makes me tremendously sad. This movie was extremely original, had a great story, and the actors were amazing. On top of all that, it made you feel while presenting absurd things, but at no time did the movie or the characters feel like a joke. I was super angry when Fargo and Pulp Fiction didn't win Oscars, and this one will be right there with them should it fail to win. There aren't that many movies better than it in the history of movies, let alone this year.
I think fixing her relationship with her husband was much more touching because Waymond is a really nice guy who loves his family, but his wife was losing interest in him because she started believing her father was right that Waymond was too weak, but it took the other Universe's successful Waymond to convince her that he wasn't weak at all and that being kind is his biggest strength. And that he would've gave up all his successes in a heartbeat just to be with her. I'm gonna watch this movie again. I loved it. It might be up there as my top 5 movies of all time now. Lol
This film is so multi-layered. The title is actually literal lol. Everything is under the eye of the beholder. The glass is either half full or half empty and we get to choose. Love this film.
One of my favorite moments in this film is 31:00 mostly because of reactors. There's always that sudden realization that they aren't shaped like that by accident. Angela's little "oh no..." is so funny to hear when the penny drops.
The red haired lady in the van with Alpha Waymond is the actress Audrey Wasilewski. She was the voice of Tuck in My Life As A Teenage Robot when I was a kid! She's the current voice of ET The Extra Terrestrial. She does a lot of on camera commercial work. She's the voice of Garfield The Cat's girlfriend Arlene!
This movie has blown my MIND! Terrific visuals, transitions, wacky funny moments, btw I did not know until know you mentioned you are part Japanese, that’s awesome!
Well, shit, Angela, I guess I'm just going to have to go see _Everything Everywhere All At Once_ this weekend just so I can watch your video. I have a feeling this will be a review with feeling. Keep these coming.
When conversation turns to the best movies we've ever seen, I have a small list of films that always have to be included. For over 20 years, since Mulholland Drive was released in 2001, there were five movies on the list. In 2022, _Everything Everywhere All at Once_ became the sixth...
I agree, this movie is amazing and one of the the best movies I ever seen. the production house, A 24, who has produced a lot of movies such as The Witch, this it their biggest hit. James Hong, Gong Gong, the grandfather, is an acting legend! Been in over 400 Chinese and American films. The bald guy getting spanked by Michelle is one of the directors. The special effects was done by 5 people on Apple computers. I can see Academy Awards in the future.
I had totally forgotten about Yeoh's double role as a mirror universe villain in Star Trek. You're right, it's another instance of her playing a nuanced variant of the same character. Great catch!
You said everything that needed / could be said. It's a beautiful movie. "It's perfect". I've seen it SIX times in the theater and my DVD arrives sometime today. Nice video.
So glad you see the commonality of "Eternal Sunshine". something different about these two films. Joel's "I wish I had done a lot of things... I wish I'd stayed" and Waymond's whole speech from "this is all my fault" to "laundry and taxes" both just mess with me.
My favorite part of watching the behind the scenes is the directors kept reminding the actors that at its core they’re making a family drama. It just happens to be wrapped in a multiverse skin. It shows that they didn’t just create a cool concept and neglect the heart and emotion that balanced all the absurdity
The first time I watched it I felt like I had watched a film directed by all my favorite directors at once. It was very impressive that in all the absurdity it told a very common tale of family and the ties that bind. Those stories, that are universal always hit harder.
watched this again yesterday, maybe for the 3rd time, and enjoyed it just as much as the other times. great reaction! and i'm so stoked today to learn that both Michelle Yeoh AND Ke Huy Quan both picked up Golden Globes for their performances!! i'm a little miffed the writers/directors got nothing, but wow, so glad overall they got what they got. thanks for all YOU do reacting and promoting work like this. cheers!
So I just stumbled on this reaction by accident, but I never saw the movie. At least not until your reaction intrigued and caught my attention so much that I had to watch it for myself. Totally blown away by this movie. I really enjoy ones that really make you run and question things, and this one did that on steroids. Also I mess around with Google eyes often lol
I’m going to be rewatching this a lot. Someone brought up that the googly eyes are the opposite of the everything bagel. Black center on white background verse the white center and black bagel.
I am so happy that this movie is doing so well on the awards circuit. Fun facts: The ChapStick Waymond eats is white chocolate dyed pink. Racacoonie is voiced by Randy Newman, the singer, songwriter and composer of many Pixar movies. The home run sound effect from super smash bros can be heard when Evelyn uses her pinky strength to send a guy flying in the air.
I've watched this movie a couple of times, I think the best bit part would be the Racacoonie guy, because you get to give Michelle Yeoh a piggyback/have her give you a piggyback, this whole movie must have been a riot to film
It was a lot of fun watching you react to this! My parents are both Chinese immigrants too (though to Canada) and though they're the hardest working people I've ever known, they're also very strict and demanding, and easy to anger but otherwise very emotionally reserved. I ended up much more 'Waymond'-like, my dad is quite the opposite. But Michelle's character was more or less spot on for my mom, haha. Most of my immediate family did actually say "you're getting fat" growing up. If you haven't seen it, I would highly, highly recommend a movie called "Synecdoche, New York". It's hard to say it's 'similar' to this film, but there are a lot of parallels in the exploration of existential themes and life and relationships, as well as the absurdist dark humour. I will say that the two are very alike in the sense that they are both absolutely and beautifully unique, and an absolute wonder to experience. I don't know that it'd win any polls or whatnot as it's not the most widely known, but it is such a beautiful movie that I really hope you'll react to it! Astounding Phillip Seymour Hoffman performance! What I'd consider to be his Magnum Opus.
You should watch their Oscar acceptance speeches. Of course Ke Huy Quan's will make you cry, but you can definitely tell how much they all bonded while making this movie! It's beautiful! I know that director Daniel Kwan has ADHD, and I felt that the character Evelyn may have had that, too. The entire movie, the way it jumps from scene to scene, could explain how Kwan's brain works. I felt like the multiverse was comparable to surfing the internet, like there's so much going on for kids today, way too much information to take in all the time, and they can find themselves in dark places, like the way Joy was depressed and possibly considering suicide, but that was more from the lack of acceptance from her mother. I related to this movie a lot because my mom is an immigrant who had many hopes and dreams she never tried or followed through with. Between her, myself, and my own child we've unfortunately passed on generational trauma, another topic this movie portrays beautifully. You should definitely watch and read everything you can about the making of, or behind the scene features of this movie. Not sure if you noticed, but both directors had small parts in the movie, and the two guys in the butt plug fight scene are brothers who had a lot to do with the fighting choreography. I believe they have their own UA-cam channel as well. This movie is an indie film that had a much lower budget than a lot of the big-time superhero movies, but I think it was way better! There were also only around 6 people working on the visual effects as opposed to the usual hundred or more for big Hollywood films. For me this movie was about a mother and daughter, generational trauma, and acceptance... I loved every minute of it! 😁❤️
I'm so glad I got to first see this film in IMAX with a big crowd at a special pre-release screening. What an amazing movie-going experience it was on a huge screen with a big sound system and all the reactions from the audience. I agree with you and thought the same thing about how on earth this was edited. Just got the blu-ray and the BTS videos and director's commentary are great. I'm still hoping for even more content in a Criterion release in the near future.
I'm so happy that you finally got to see this. Your reactions, facial expressions of disgust, fear, sadness, happiness and shock while watching the ever so unfathomable EEA was priceless for me. BTW, now you have to make some time to watch Ratatouille.
I had waited for Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness for so long, and then it turned out it was not the best multiverse movie that came out this year. Sure, maybe I am biased, since I suffer from depression and thus could relate to Joy and have also ADHD and thus could relate with Evelyn.
Spoilers . . . The way you describe Evelyn's universe as a martial arts actress, where she didn't stay with Waymond. Is as if there was no "Joy" in that world for her. I am certain her daughters name was very intentional in the context of the entire movie.
With a comical whimsical ambience laced alongside so many salivating tender narrative bones to boot, Daniels takes this movie through so many completely different styles that rarely work together in the past and squeegees the most important elements from each genre to give this multilayered inventive project the scope and scale it calls upon. In this manner, without having to physically force the puzzle pieces to fit, they lean into the absurdity of the worlds they have created, always reaching for the most outlandish possibilities and never playing it safe while carrying a therapeutic energy in their direction throughout. We have a frenetic stream of dialogue that somehow keeps pace with breakneck action sequences, which are both delightfully wacky but exquisitely executed, the swapping color palettes help make every select scene feel as surreal and acid-inducing as possible with a pat of beauty, the narrative manages to be exciting and outrageously wild but reasonable within its own multiverse contexts and how every single frame of unconventional cinematography and editing is in natural equilibrium is beyond me. The production design is boundless, yet united by a lighthearted vision, sound design and music symbolically convey psychology through silence, volume, and echoes, the multifaceted effects contribute to the ambitious atmosphere and all the performances are frothingly salivating. It takes a lot for a movie to get me to cry multiple times during viewing. The most I normally cry is once. Even now as I’m talking about it, I’m tearing up.
My little brother was the music editor on this film, it was a labor of love for everyone involved, so happy to see it find an audience!

Absolutely nothing is a waste in this movie. Everything just works really well.

Lol 🥹🥹🥹😭😭😭
Adding those sneaky obi-wan googly eyes was delightful
The only thing more universal than its themes, is the universal aversion to paper cuts. Not everyone cried in the theater I went to, but rest assured everyone WINCED.
😂😂 I believe it!
as someone who never had a paper cut, I don't relate lol.
@@tenerife_sea how is this possible
@@curtisholsinger6023 He _is_ the Chosen One
This film is a triumph. It was the first film I saw in the theaters "post"-pandemic, and I was shook. So much crying in the theater. I'm glad it moved you. Your review is what I needed today!
It's just genius how they turned "nothing matters" as a negative thing into "NOTHING MATTERS" as a positive thing! 🤯
Its the philosophy of Absurdism. Nothing matters, so make your own meaning.
One of the few times i cried and laughed in a movie at the same time
And more than once.
I have my go-to Empire Strikes Back and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, but this will be on the tip of my tongue for years!!!
Exactly
This movie is one of those "if you did not cry , then you don't get it" movies. Such a beautiful art.
During the paper-cut scene nearly everyone in the theater was cringing SO hard, writhing around and contorting, lol. I dunno why but that really seems to affect people!
Have you ever watched Jackass? I was the same way when they were purposefully giving themselves paper cuts. ITS AWFUL lol
More affective than some Saw/horror movies and that's such a testament to the directors/editing
It's bad enough that paper cuts hurt. Cutting the webbing between your fingers? AHHHHH!
Have you seen the CinemaSins video for this? It’s rather epic too
I was so not prepared for this movie. I had low expectations...I was blown away. Crying, laughing, cringing, sometimes all at once. Watching people react to it is so much fun because I KNOW the moments they start to realize the ride is beyond anything they expected.
41:59 I love that there’s now googly eyes on Kenobi
😂😂
My ma died July 26th, I watched this movie for the first time maybe 2 weeks prior , this film really made me wished I hugged my mom one last time.
I love this fi;m so much. Its is about the mother and daughter but the kindness of Waymond saves the day.
Waymond was MPV
"In another life, I would have really liked just doing laundry and taxes with you". That broke me
@@ChiefGrizz one of the best lines written in years, and paired with the absolute perfect actor to deliver it. Staggeringly brilliant.
This is such a relatable reaction. I was basically a mess from Waymond's "in another life, ..." to the end.
the googly eyes being edited to fly onto your poster was an awesome touch!!!!
I just realized the IRS awards were appropriate.
BTW I love your laugh/snort!
This was a much better way of explaining the multiverse than "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness". This was a GREAT movie, the Daniels directed this and hit it out of the park.
I cried at the rock scene . Amazing movie
I cried at all the same parts! Hope you enjoyed this special film as much as I did.
Empathic
It perfectly sums up the human condition in the most creative, absurd, hilarious and emotional way! Such an amazing film!
You only get to experience it for the first time once and it was SO MEMORABLE!!!
Nice job Xander. Obi Wan looked good with Googly Eyes.
Ke Huy Quan stole the movie. Michelle did amazing, simply put, she can do it all.
Oh, FLG, you are so exquisite in your reactions. Don't think I have anything cohesive on what the film is about either, but I can offer one admiring observation on the mechanics of its storytelling:
in dazzling, perplexing, and constantly surprising your rational mind, it finds openings to bypass your distracted objectivity and impact your emotions more directly. That's a big reason the more poignant scenes hit like a jack hammer, I think.
A little nuanced intimacy goes an amazing long way in this film.
It's brilliant and it hits hard every time I see it. Just fantastic work by everyone involved.
It got seven major oscars. It was so good, so unique that the Academy had no choice.
Before watching this movie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was my all-time favorite lol
They are both fantastic!
She deserves an Oscar
They all do, everyone involved
@@ryasa777 In every catagory
Success!!
This movie has blown my MIND! Terrific visuals, transitions, wacky funny moments, btw I did not know until know you mentioned you are part Japanese, that’s awesome!
41:58 The googly eyes on Obi-wan was a cool editing touch.
Before watching this movie, Terminator 2 Judgement Day was my favorite movie of all time....since 1991!
Epic film.
I have to say, my favorite moment was the googly eyes on Obi-Wan Kenobi. And then falling off at exactly the right time.
Well, shit, Angela, I guess I'm just going to have to go see _Everything Everywhere All At Once_ this weekend just so I can watch your video. I have a feeling this will be a review with feeling. Keep these coming.
DO IT JOE
When conversation turns to the best movies we've ever seen, I have a small list of films that always have to be included. For over 20 years, since Mulholland Drive was released in 2001, there were five movies on the list. In 2022, _Everything Everywhere All at Once_ became the sixth...
I love how you added the google eyes on your poster during that scene!
I laughed so hard when I noticed you put googley eyes on Obi-Wan. 🤣
Nice video.
The acting, direction and story were all great, but the cinematography and editing were completely next level.
OMG I just love how the googly eyes flew onto Obi Wan! Hahahahaha
I love this film, and I love your empathy as you receive it. ❤️
So glad you see the commonality of "Eternal Sunshine". something different about these two films. Joel's "I wish I had done a lot of things... I wish I'd stayed" and Waymond's whole speech from "this is all my fault" to "laundry and taxes" both just mess with me.
41:58 love what the editor did!!!!!
Lol i thought i was crazy thinking this was the best film ive ever saw when i walked out the theater
Emotional whiplash is a perfect term for this movie, you laugh deeply and cry deeply a second apart.
41:56 that googley eye edit 😂😂I had to rewind that at first watch
lol good stuff
Loved your reaction! This movie is as groundbreaking as the original The Matrix. I've already watched it 3 times, and I've cried every time.
My favorite part of watching the behind the scenes is the directors kept reminding the actors that at its core they’re making a family drama. It just happens to be wrapped in a multiverse skin. It shows that they didn’t just create a cool concept and neglect the heart and emotion that balanced all the absurdity
I appreciate the google eyes on ObiWan so much
I finally got around to watching this movie last night. Had some very weird dreams.
The first time I watched it I felt like I had watched a film directed by all my favorite directors at once. It was very impressive that in all the absurdity it told a very common tale of family and the ties that bind. Those stories, that are universal always hit harder.
watched this again yesterday, maybe for the 3rd time, and enjoyed it just as much as the other times. great reaction! and i'm so stoked today to learn that both Michelle Yeoh AND Ke Huy Quan both picked up Golden Globes for their performances!! i'm a little miffed the writers/directors got nothing, but wow, so glad overall they got what they got. thanks for all YOU do reacting and promoting work like this. cheers!
The movie is so incredible. A total roller coaster ride. I laughed and cried so much. Love the movie 🪨 👀😍
Such an accurate portrayal of a typical Asian household. So nostalgic 👌
I've watched this movie a couple of times, I think the best bit part would be the Racacoonie guy, because you get to give Michelle Yeoh a piggyback/have her give you a piggyback, this whole movie must have been a riot to film
Hahaha! Loved that you had the googly eyes on Ewan!
Now the Oscar winner for best picture along with sweeping the major awards and the most awarded film in history
Finally got to see this film and I had to come see your reaction! Such a great video, as always!
Just stopping by to watch another reactor start crying to the beautiful Laundry and Taxes line! Was not disappointed! 👍
Loved the googly eyes you edited onto your poster. That some dedication
The eyes on Obi-Wan were a brilliant touch
Don't worry, when Waymond dropped his "in another life" line the sprinklers in my eyes went off too
THANK YOU for the first reaction channel to reference Phillipa Georgiou from Star Trek Discovery

A thoroughly amazing movie. I'm happy to see so many others enjoyed it as much as I did.
