📢 Local Government Awards 2024: We’ve launched the Local Government Awards to honor those making a difference in our municipality.
🏅 Congratulations Col Rathbone: A heartfelt congratulations to Col Rathbone for being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia. Col’s dedication to volunteering and his current fundraising ride for Melanoma Research is truly inspiring. Kiama thanks you, Col!
📊 Community Engagement Strategy: Council adopted the Community Engagement Strategy, reflecting our commitment to meaningful community involvement. Thank you to everyone who participated in the development process. Your feedback ensures the strategy meets our community’s needs.
🐾 Dog Friendly Spaces: Our draft Dog Friendly Spaces Strategy is now on public exhibition. With over 9,000 dogs in our LGA, we aim to enhance dog-friendly areas, including a new off-leash area in Jamberoo.
🏘️ South Kiama Development: Council endorsed the Draft Development Control Plan for the South Kiama Urban Release Area.
🏆 Tourism Recognition: Congratulations to our tourism staff and councillors for winning the prestigious 2024 NSW Top Tourism Town Award! This accolade highlights Kiama’s status as a beloved travel destination, competing against major cities like Newcastle and Ballina. We’re now in the running for the national award in September. Proud to call Kiama home!
