So I'm finally almost done reviewing the current wave of Star Wars figures. But I am super glad I waited. I like taking my time and getting to really form an opinion of the figure instead of just a quick first impression. This figure got a lot higher of a score because of it. I hope you enjoy it! Man, that’s one of the best figures Hasbro’s ever made. I have it, and I really really love it. Excellent review man.
I just wish they had fixed some of the smaller issues! But I agree.

This was my most anticipated figure of the last few waves...and I was instantly head over heels in love with it when I got it. This is easily in my top 5 favorite figures. Mine is actually one of my more dependable figures while standing up. And the articulation allows him to have some great poses. I've had zero problems with stiff joints/falling over. And let's talk about the face...that paint job! It's amazing. The lack of a belt clip doesn't bug me that much. I do agree that it should have come with another set of hands. Those aren't "big" and I don't think the cloak should count as an accessory in the first place, but oh well. It's not perfect, but there's something about this figure that I absolutely love -- enough to rank him extremely highly in my collection.
The face is absolutely incredible, for sure! I was a bit disappointed when I got mine out of the box, but he is very quickly growing on me!
Hi Mike been watching your show for a while now. And I just wanted to say, I am visually impaired, and have a hard time reading small print. So I’ve always wanted to thank you, for reading the biographies on the back of the boxes. Cause 90% of the time, I don’t get to read them. You’re one of the only UA-cam toy reviewer‘s, that Actually takes the time to read the bio out loud. ✊🏻

Definately one of the strongest waves so far which has been able to capture the likeness of the actors who portray these characters.
Yeah it’s easily one of the best likenesses in the entire line.
Got him when he first came out...and reordered another one from Hasbro Pulse.
Excellent face print and equal to or better than the S.H.Figuarts figure.

One of their best figures to date imo. I remember when I did my Unboxing, I was amazed by the cloth, the face, eye shine, the saber details- basically SHF is going to be out of business soon since they are 3x as much and they don’t even come with cloaks.

I’m very excited for the Archive Maul and Anakin Wave to come in as well as Obi-Wan Apprentice. Although it does really sting that I opened my real original BS Maul for a review when I could have just waited a year, lol.

Nice review! I actually found several from this new wave just this week... I even found Mace and Dryden Voss hidden up on top of the shelves at Walmart. Since they hadn't updated their pricing from the old waves they're trying to get rid of, I actually got those 2 for $14.99! I also swooped up 2 Mimban Solo's, Padme, and a Battle Droid. I got two of the Mimban Solo, becuase I'll be using them as Mimban Soldiers.

Thanks for another excellent review. I'm really looking forward to owning this figure now, as for accessories I agree wholeheartedly with what you said but, I'd have also liked to have seen Mace's Jedi training screen that he used in Ep1 and also seeing as he's a Jedi Council member his Chair, I know this would have added to the price, but I feel it would have been totally worth it, especially if Hasbro continued the trend with the other members as and when they are released.
Yep! That would have been a great accessory too! Also now I think Jedi Council members should definitely have their chairs! For sure!

Lol "trust falls". Love it. I just found one on clearance and thought he couldn't stay standing because it was defective. And I believe mine has two right hands 😂. But for $7.50, I just decided to keep his cape on. I need to double check but pretty sure it was the same hand on both sides; it was the only one so I can't exchange it. New to collecting this series and happy I found him.

Great in-depth review as always and I’m so happy we finally have a Mace Windu in the line. I also really want more Jedi in the line and maybe they could do the more relevant ones like Plo Koon and Kit Fisto as main line releases and some of the more irrelevant ones as 3 or 4 packs to get them out faster. I’ll also never get tired of clone releases and I still need that Rex and Wolffe BADLY. (Especially Rex). Anyways, at the end of the day we have our own opinions and personally, I would’ve scored him a 4.75/4.5. I can’t see anything wrong with him in any categories except sculpt which is the belt and I personally don’t think he needed any more accessories considering what we’ve seen with previous Jedi releases. Just my opinion though.
That’s fair. I wish I could have given him a higher score. I do love him, but I didn’t want y to ignore the problems I had with him, you know? I hope you get Rex and Wolffe soon!
Mike Kaess yeah well said. When you think about it, the problems that were there could’ve definitely been avoided. I do have to admit though, Hasbro could definitely give some characters alternate hands that are necessary like Mace instead of giving them to freaking Poe Dameron of all people. Thanks for replying.

The TPM Mace had a grey/white material for his tunics and a more plain lightsaber hilt (looks identical to Kit Fistos) but when he was appointed a high councillor he made a new hilt with gold pieces that only a high counselor could use. Also changed up the colours between movies TPM and AOTC. So it’s basically an AOTC/ROTS figure.

I'm pretty sure Mace was a high member on the coucil before the events of TPM.

Seeing this figure makes me wish they would just re-release the older figures with the more modern engineering seen here. More specifically, the Episode II or III Obi Wan Kenobi. That figure has not aged well imo but I want a representation of young Obi Wan Kenobi so badly. Might stick for the new Ep I Obi Wan fig instead if it's good :)
I 100% agree! The new Obi wan is the next figure I review. He’s ok. I just wish her cake with more stuff.
I have been thinking of solutions for the lightsber clip in case I get him. My idea is to make two small u-shaped loops out of bendy wire that can get hooked with one another and glue one to the belt and the other to the hilt.
That’s not a bad idea!
@@MikeKaess hey man! I have come around to buying the figure and I have managed to make a fix for the lightsaber and the belt. I found a small black plastic rod that I cut and filed down into a peg that I glued to the hilt. Then I shaped a bendy wire into a rounded loop with two hooks to hang it from the top of the skirt/belt piece. I wish I could share a photo through here.
Easily the best Black Series Reviewer on YT. Only a matter of time until this pays off in views. Doing it like you: Without doubting the quality of your content, one improvment would be: Use more Video Close Ups.

i found this a fantastic figure when i reviewed him !! its so life like but i did have a bit of a problem with the robe hood !!

This is one of the best figures they've ever made. Period. That face sculpt is the best sam jackson face ever done on a figure outside of hot toys. It absolutely annihilates the figuarts mace which looks cartoonish in comparison. The scale is also spot on as I've compared his real height to b1 battle droids and they are both sized appropriately. This is up there with padme, hoth leia, rex and island journey rey when it comes to the face as far as I'm concerned. This only makes me excited for newer figures and old figures that get facial remasters in the archive line. Hasbro have seriously upped their game. Compared to their old figures these new ones look like they should cost 60 bucks and come from japan.
Seriously, take a look at mace and then take a look at their qui gon from a couple of years ago. It's night and day difference.
I completely agree, the likeness is easily one of the best in the entire line. And as a toy in general. I just wish he were better in other areas.

Yeah every Jedi should have come with a robe. It’s a necessity.

Love the Robe if you want to get the Hood to lay right hold the robe on his shoulders then place a penny in the hood it will help the hood stay down I use it for all the 3.75in figs

This is the only figure, including exclusives that I've never seen in stores. It's odd because never have I been bested by a black series figure until now. Sooner or later I will buy it on line but my S.H. Fuguarts Windu is so exceptional that it would be hard to imagine the black series version being superior
That sucks being bested by a lowly black series figure, but it happens to all of us at some point.

I found my mace windu at my GameStop and I had to have him. I love the character and I love the prequels, those butterfly joints were a very pleasant surprise for me. Love your review man. Keep up the good work

I've had 2 of Him. The first one I got had a Huge Bubble in the Rubber Portion of the Torso on the Right Rear at the beltline that I'm sure a lot of People would have either never noticed because it was Covered by the Robe, which I contemplated leaving on just to cover it, but I knew it was there and it Bothered Me, so I Exchanged Him. Like You, My BIGGEST Complaint is the Lack on Hasbro's Part to Include a Peg System for His Lightsaber to Attach to His Belt. As You called it, a Glaring Oversight, made even More Unforgivable considering that Hecis an Otherwise Excellent Figure. That Headscupt with the Photo-Real Face Printing Technology is FANTASTIC! I said the same thing, I felt like someone had Shrunken Samuel L Jackson and put Him in a Box when I got Him.
Yeah when ever I see a small imperfection, I try to ignore it, but knowing it’s there always gets to me!
And the lack of the peg system just.. really bums me out

I noticed it on one of the many many rewatches I saw in theaters. I had arguments with friends over whether it was Mace or another Jedi who happens to be black and dresses like Mace.
I definitely want a version of Mace with his Clone armor on. Anakin as well. Always enjoy your reviews.

I actually had that in my notes and forgot to mention it during the recording, but I agree! Hasbro has been doing things like that with their other lines, it would be cool to have in the black series line.

One of Mace’s arms broke off on my figure doing just basic articulation. First time in a while that’s happened to one of my figures. Now I need to track down another one which is proving difficult since no one seems to be carrying stock of this wave.

Yeah, the stem of the blade is suuuuper long. I put even but gentle pressure in it until it popped out. Just be careful

I have another Maul coming from Amazon tomorrow that I have to have the hooded version too and another Anakin from BBTS coming in a couple weeks that I’m gonna combine with Windus robe and his evil head for a ROTS Order 66 Anakin! So pumped lol

i love everything about the mace figure, except the lightsaber and fit of the robe. i wish the robe fit more naturally on his head, but its not that big of a deal. the lightsaber, on the other hand, broke within three days of me owning it. the little peg that held it inside the hilt broke clean off and i cant fix it, insanely disappointing.
Yeah the lightsaber blade has a super long plug to get into the hilt, so it can technically snap off pretty easily.
He is an incredible figure held back by a few mostly minor issues.

I’m always afraid of mine breaking, it’s a weirdly made saber
I bought him but he’s still in the package. I think the stink of how he plays out in RoTS just diminished my enthusiasm for the figure. Mace was all super stoic and Jedi like in Phantom Menace. Then in the next two films he became less Jedi like. So much so he compounds Anakin’s frustration. It’s not the Jedi way. I’m not sure we know what that is by his actions. So Mace. I got him. It’s a good figure. It’s just a character I lost interest in. Plo Koon. That’s a Black Series Jedi I would really enjoy thanks to Clone Wars Show. Granted the Jar Jar and Mace team up was fun in Clone Wars too. So I’ll break him out once Jar Jar is released. Everything was better in Clone Wars. Now Tartakovsky’s Mace was nothing less than Superman. That dude could have won the Clone War by himself.
I completely understand losing interest in Mace. He definitely seems like a different person from Episode 1 to the others. Almost like a gray Jedi or something.
Does this figure have "y" or "t" joints, i have checked a ton of reveiws and nobody seems to mention if it has it or not

@@MikeKaess "t" joints are joints the move forward and backward but also go outwards, "y" joints are joints the only move out to the side but if rotated it can movie forward, i hope i explained that good enough
They’re t joints then. But It’s more than that. It’s a universal peg and swivel ball joint.

Normally I would agree with you, but Hasbro has been doing that more recently! Even in this wave, Pame comes with an alternate hand. A lot of their newer lines have alternate heads and hands. I think they could do it.
