    Thanks Jim for keeping all of us updated on your recovery and teasing us with occasional videos. I am a new viewer but have gone through all of your videos for 2022 and part of 2021. I can’t get enough. I picked up a detector for Christmas but have only used it once and am waiting for better weather to get serious about detecting. I am very interested in your tutorials and the info you give about “reading” the beach. My local beaches are Redondo/Manhattan/Hermosa and Torrance. Keep up the good work.

    Awesome collection of rings and all other findings Jim. What a great hobby, so many surprises and excitement for the year 2022. Wishing you another great year of finding all new treasures. Hope that wrist is good by now. Thanks for sharing, stay safe out there.

    How's the wrist doing? Hoping for a speedy recovery. Can't wait to hear you say it again, "it's a ring!" Tuesday I'll find out when my surgery is. I know how bad you feel as I haven't been able to detect since early September, but I did order my 900 today and I'm hoping to be back out by early May. Plan to be out your way in the fall and would love to join you in a hunt.

    I would totally dig it! You've inspired my disabled self to go out to our beaches on the Oregon coast to see what we have hidden under our sands. I think that you have a quarter under there. Good luck everyone! Oh also, I have just started collecting silver dimes in my change... we all have to start somewhere. I'm trying to get silver quarters now whoop!.

    I feel for you with the "down time". I hope your recovery time is quick. I sprained my wrist (and turned my ankle) earlier this week and am now on hold for metal detecting 😕 so I understand the anticipation of waiting to get back out there. I'd dig it... show me that silver bracelet (total guess as I know nothing of the Nox900 number scale...) Cheers

    Jim, trust you’re on the mend and will be back finding treasure soon. I’m confined to a walker for getting around. I’m 250+ miles from the beaches. I have an old entry-level White metal detector.
    Back when I could walk 35 yrs ago I found some coins. But I was working so not much time to hunt. I live through your hunts I suppose. If you could include the date, for instance, January 15,2023 and location would be great. My sister lived in Huntington Beach (40+ yrs) until her death 4 yrs ago. I have a niece in Laguna Niguel. My wife and I were there a yr before my sisters death. Beautiful area. To bad your governor is trying to destroy it.

    Okay, Jim .. .. .. ... My questions are :
    i ) What do you use to clean all the jewelery, coins, and 'bits & pieces' ?
    ii ) What do you do with all of the items you find ?? Catagorise, Store & Keep ? or Keep the best stuff and sell the rest to a 'precious metals buyer' ??
    Amazing Ring Total. And, Good Luck for 2023 ...... 😇 👍

    • @funwithjim
      @funwithjim  Рік тому +1

      Gold and Silver get bagged and tagged placed into safety deposit box. The clad coins I find pay for just about everything I want or need. Cleaning jewelry, if really bad I slow tumble with stainless steel jewelry media checking a little at a time making sure not to damage the piece. Jewelry that is not to dirty I just toss in a ultra sonic cleaner. Ocean crusted items I know are gold get soaked in toilet cleaner first to remove ocean debris. Coins get tumbled clean using toilet cleaner or CLR along with stainless steel jewelry media. Thank You 👍

    I have to ask, do you sell the jewelry at the end of each year and if so for scrap or other means? I just bought an 800 and recovered roughly $60 in corroded coins, including 9 sliver, over a dozen rings, including 3 gold, in the first four days of using it.

    • @funwithjim
      @funwithjim  Рік тому

      Awesome way to go! I do not sell my GOLD, it gets placed into Safety Deposit boxes for retirement fund. Coins buy me most of everything I need and scrapping the copper and Aluminum twice a year really adds up too!
