On our crossings after a day or so, some Owners were okay if the Kennel Masters let their dogs out without them (the Owners) being there. I think it depends on your dog's demeanour and your comfort level. We weren't comfortable with it, but we were in the kennels as much as possible. Some Owners weren't there very often, so the Kennel Masters watched them.

Anyone crossing with cats? I've a trained service cat (seizure alert)--however recognize this is VERY rare. I've footage proving it, but you'd have to know what to look for to recognize the alert behavior. I go nowhere without Mrs Jones. But lately, this means I pretty much go NO WHERE. See, I need Mrs Jones to sleep WITH me, because she tells me with her behavior whether I need a rest, or a doctor.
Cruises could offer so much better accommodations for CAT owners! We want to retire to France one day but won’t until all 3 of our cats have crossed the rainbow 🌈 bridge. Same area as dogs and only 1 hr out with owner is such absolute bullshit for that cost. Real service is own cabin with a do not disturb sign and maid service wouldn’t have to “worry” about the cats. This is all fine for dogs, I suppose but no reason to not be more accommodating for cats.
Hi Dana - I agree with you. I think the cats should be allowed in the cabins with the Owners. I think they could also let the cats out more frequently in the kennels to be in the interior lounge area, then the dogs can be outside - but I guess it would depend on the weather.
7 days in such small dog area is pretty bad. There are small ferries that provide larger areas for your dogs for just a 2 day trip. I was expecting to see something alot better for such a ship and price. Pathetic.

Sorry for the very late reply! You'll need to check with Cunard on the weight restriction - I know it's more than 30 lbs. Our larger dog was 30kg at the time of sailing.
Do the dogs only get let out when their owners are around?
On our crossings after a day or so, some Owners were okay if the Kennel Masters let their dogs out without them (the Owners) being there. I think it depends on your dog's demeanour and your comfort level. We weren't comfortable with it, but we were in the kennels as much as possible. Some Owners weren't there very often, so the Kennel Masters watched them.
Do you know if they have weight limit
i want that blouse, what brand is it
Hi Michelle,
I am bringing my dog to US in the QM2 in September. Can you help me if you know the entry requirements for pets?
I am reading and comparing information from different sources and cannot get any clarity.
Appreciate if you know based on your experience.
Cheers
Pablo, I just saw this question - sorry I never replied sooner. Since it is now November I assume you have already crossed. Cunard emails you the information ahead of time. I know travelling E-W is less paperwork than W-E. Hope things went well for you, Michelle
Hi Pablo, I apologize for such a late reply - I realize you've already sailed! I wrote a four-part blog series on our experience, the first one is here: michellebinkley.com/dogs-on-the-qm2-the-paperwork-part-one-of-four/
Thanks for the video! I saw you posted a link to your blog but I'm not able to open your website. I've tried different browsers and checked my browser settings. Could you possibly email me the blog? I'm so curious to read the four parts!
Hi Kylie, I am having issues with my website right now - sorry! I can't even access the content to send you. Maybe try again in a month or so. If you have any specificQs, I can try and answer here. Thanks, M
HI Kylie, here is the link to the blog - it's up again! michellebinkley.com/thoughts/
Why can't we stay with our animal on same room? I don't understand. It would be and a hotel...
I would have booked but I will not subject my animals to 12 hours a day in a cage I can’t do that I’m sorry and I only have a holidayed with my dog
Look at 2:30.... Poor dog
Where can we have more info ?
I suggest calling Cunard and asking to speak to the Kennels.
@@michybinkley txs for update 🙏
Not me thinking I could take my dog on a cruise and she can’t even stay with me 🥺
So the prices of taking animals is so terrifying that it gets no mention? Yikes!
Glad I saw this video
I thought you can bring your dog in your room. Not a fan. I rather put my dog in my hometown daycare where they get a whole room to sleep in. Still cool though if you don’t have a daycare option
We want yes in case take here in2 our suite
If I’m spending $50,000.00 on a suite my husky moomie will be sleeping on his own bed in the suite! And definitely not inside a tiny cage!
get em rich guy
7 days in such small dog area is pretty bad. There are small ferries that provide larger areas for your dogs for just a 2 day trip.
I was expecting to see something alot better for such a ship and price. Pathetic.
Hi, can you name some of those ferries? Any experiences, recommendations for using other than QM2 ?
@@gezak9209 I was talking about ferries that make shorter trips than this. I don´t know any that crosses the atlantic.
You may want to contact QM2 and check if this is the real only area for dogs or are dogs able to walk in some other areas maybe, just to make sure
Southampton to New York in 2 days on a small ferry you’re at the noise up Gen Zod either that or you’re a Walter Mitty thanks for the laugh
Gen ZoD are you not getting mixed up with small ferries and Donald Campbell,s Bluebird
@@gezak9209 Not for the Atlantic crossing unfortunately
Thank you for preventing me from taking my dog on here. The kennels are awful and there's no grass or play area. I wouldn’t subject my dog to these conditions. Completely different to the promotional video from the company.
Thanks for your opinion. I made this video 5 years ago - maybe things have changed since then.
I was under the impression the kennels were big luxury runs. This looks awful. They barely have room to move. And there is nowhere for dogs to potty except a fire hydrant?
Kennels are so cruel for a dog used to it's owners attention
