To call someone stupid, because they have an opinion you don't like @southernlife is so unprofessional and mean as a UA-camr and is the reason why your channel will never really grow.
You gave opinions NOT Statistics. According to Forbes, Detroit is #3. Neighborhood Scout has Detroit as #6. CNN reported New Orleans as #1. Detroit is a dangerous city, but it is not #1! Detroit has so much growth! You said yourself that the food is delicious, and there are some places in Metro Detroit that are really great! It is also really affordable here, and the people are really good, hardworking folks! I lived in Ocala for a few years, and it was a total stark contrast.
Katie grew up in Ann Arbor according to you, that is NOT DETROIT or even METRO Detroit. Katie has long since been a resident of Florida. I am sure her family is NOT in DETROIT! What many people don't know is Michigan is unique in saying Metro-Detroit, meaning cities that are within 30 miles of Detroit, it DOESN'T mean Detroit.
Stick to what you know about.....Florida. You're trying to come out the box 📦, but with your attitude and perspective, you'll never grow your subscribers.

Hey man as a 30 year trucker you are spot on , I don’t know if you done Tampa Fl, I was born and raised here and I have found that people move from dam near from every town you mentioned and bring their bad habits here. It’s crazy seeing a city that was small and nice turn into a normal crime infested metropolis and it’s caused by these transplants that move from somewhere else. I guess that’s how all of these towns once were until people brought their bad habits with them.

I live in Orlando Baldwin Park 3min drive border to the city of Winter Park and it's so peaceful and you can leave packages on your door and in the 4 years I've been here no packages have been reported stolen. But alot of my new yorkers are moving here and fear they will ruin it more than the price inflation. And this is a all middle class and rich class but 10 minutes down town be careful and carry your piece fully legal is better but yeah man I believe my childhood best friend lives in Tampa and she cried when her area of living is getting worse. Thanks for your service on the road I respect all drivers especially truckers and bikers. ❤😊🎉

I give you guys A LOT OF CREDIT for going out and researching what crime does to cities and its people all while politicians PAINT A DIFFERENT SCENE..
Crime SHOULD NOT BE THIS BAD in any city of the USA. There is no excuse.
I see it as the politicians keep its people in its place..
Instead of living a better safe life. We are living in poverty, unsafe and unable to move on to make it a better place..
Its very sad. NO ONE SHOULD BE FORCED TO LIVE LIKE THIS!!
    That is my personal opinion.

Crime is absolutely tied to poverty, poverty is tied to decades of racism and the disappearance of the middle class. Kids are growing up without any kind of social skills outside of holding a device in their hands the lack of being able to dream ( and when I was a teenager I bought my first car with a minimum wage job and cutting grass ) I was never told I could do anything but I was also never told I couldn't. How could they buy a home or even dream of being able to afford living in this wealth obsessed country. They turn to drugs to self medicate the depression and then bam, they are dead because you cant even smoke a joint anymore without it being laced with fentanyl. When Reagan was in office he sold a greed bill of credit card wealth and while white kids were getting high on cocaine black kids were going to prison for 40+ years for selling it. To say nothing of ignoring the AIDS crisis and getting in bed with Iraq, then Iran then South America at his leisure destroying countries and creating terrorists. While are jobs are sent overseas and then everyone wants to blame immigrants who have always been doing the jobs white people won;;t do, ever. So yes, crime, drugs, empty storefronts, guns guns guns guns. And while everyone is sitting around deciding who is going to impeach whom climate change is killing us, everywhere, globally, and a bunch of wanna be republicans hold up their hand that they don't believe climate change is real and they would support Trump 'even if he was convicted. And i gotta tell ya, if it were anyone else he would have been in jail 30 years ago. So our country was too busy pouting when YES the DNC fucked Bernie so they didn't vote, now we have a white supremacy issue that is so frightening I cannot imagine having dark skin in this country. I'm 60, a young and kinda hip 60 I guess. I lived in SF in the 90's, I marched with ACTUP, I marched against the first Iraq war, I'm queer and I had the time of my life and I had two rooms in my first flat in 1990 for $250 a room, pretty steep but doable on my $10 hr salary. I would'nt live in SF right now even if it were affordable. No soul, no heart, no edge. So if I were young right now I would drop the hell out, live amongst like minded people get super plugged in to the environment and take this country to its eye opening edge every one of these gender bending, non binary , bi=racial couple, non homophobic last one of yo you tic toc lil youngsters. Myself, the goal while it sounds ridiculous,, I'm going to start a creative arts school for Appalachian kids. and if I can rock that I'm going to open one in each one of these broken cities and try and to give back so my legacy won't be watching these videos and getting sick. , We don't have decades, we can't look at these cities and say how did happen? I'm telling you every last one of us is going to know poverty and illness and drought and it's not far off. I'm not a doomsday down in the mouth person at all, but but it's here folks. Get busy living, be kind, and let's do this.

Born and raised in St. Louis Missouri and you hit the nail right on.. shit pops off everywhere & yes even in the suburbs. Very extreme gun laws so people ride around with 100 rounds and don’t care they shoot when they see their enemies. Multiple gang wars happening right now

    • @versatilechannel9387

Listen when you guys visit St. Louis, stay in the west county or central west end area. The West side, & North county are a no if you aren’t familiar or know people there. The north side is 100% off limits that is a war zone with multiple multiple gangs going back and forth. Downtown is no good right now you will have to look over your shoulder, plenty of shootings and robberies. If you go stay around Ballpark village located by Busch stadium home of the Cardinals. Avoid off brand gas stations and Corner stores the safest gas stations in St. Louis will always be the Quick trips. Stay away from most mobiles and Bps. Just a few tips. Just have all your wits about yourself & respect people when you go out and you will be fine. Try Forest park, city museum, the Farris wheel at union station, these are just to name a few activities but there’s still some life here

@@chris-cy5ed Gun laws in St. Louis are pretty much constitution based. At 18 you can go buy a pistol and conceal or open carry. People roll around with AR15s you can literally walk around with them out or roll with them in your car and the police can’t do anything unless you threaten someone. As Long as you aren’t a felon or carrying fully automatic weapons you’re in the clear. Of course people have plenty of those as well. Pistols with auto seers and micro Draco’s are pretty common these days.

Every city has places you just don’t go to. Detroit is no exception. You people who bash Detroit, need to take another look. I go to Detroit quite a bit. I go to the casino with my son and we have been to countless big name concerts. My son is in Detroit every weekend for football and later for baseball. They have done a lot of work on it and it looks great! There are new businesses and condos going up constantly. Detroit will comeback!! 😊🩷

You drove on my street in Baton Rouge, LA.
I live where I can afford to live. I have a degree, too from LSU at Baton Rouge. Still things are not peachy for my family.
When houses look bad, that doesnt mean bad people live there.
My neighbors on my street, by Big Ben's (big yellow sign) are the most God fearing, people loving folks anyone would want to meet. And yes I love the music and the food here.
During Hurricanes I wouldn't want to be by anyone else.
We help each other, ...we mow each other's grass when the owners arent even at home. We give food away to neighbors.
I live by the all the retired men who "made" Exxon, when it was just Standard Oil. My sons work at the refinery plants here too, for good pay. Thats why we stay. And the universities are near by.
I admire all the elderly men who get up early to mow grass for a living, (after retirement) at age 80, at these temps too.
Hard to judge a city by "drive- bys" only.
Wouldn't you want to be my neighbor?

A very nice little city but we are seeing crime go way up here too. I've lived in Michigan my entire 45 yrs and only been to Detroit a hand full of times for concerts or museums for school. We went there for Detroit 🐯 Tigers game and pistons lions game. I only went there once where we went shopping and looking around. We got lost in a area where we didn't belong but got back on the main road fast lol. I hear Detroit is cleaning up but that was before Biden because president 😂idk now.

Im positive there are gold people in every bad cities. My advice is to leave. Going to bed at night will be better, and sleep will be sweeter. There is absolutely NO reason to live like that. Its squalor. My small city isnt perfect. I have crime in my neighborhood. Theres nip bottles, trash, needles on the ground in places, squatters, but its nothing as bad as some of those cities. Also, I always thought Chicago was highest in murders. Never knew it got worse elsewhere. And sadly, I heard in a news clip that chicago kids, about 23 this year, have disappeared. I hope they are returned home safely. Child trafficking is a growing threat.

Most of the cirme in Chicago happens on the south and west sides, and not even the entire south or west sides. I worked in Englewood at the Welfare office on Western and i never was harassed or anything taken from my car. The point is, stats don't lie and one's own personal (and anecdotal) experience does not define the entire place. Englewood is considered one of the most dangerous neighborhoods, ranked up there with Garfield Park and Austin but I never was on the receiving end of the violent crime but stats don't lie. Just as stats don't lie in regard to your aunt, just because your aunt has had that happen numerous times does not necessarily mean it's rampant or happens to everyone.

Baltimore is scary. But it does have pockets of upscale urban living. Mt. Vernon, Hampden, Fells Point, Fed Hill, Roland Park, Fort McHenry and few others.
And a lot of times it's literally block to block.
One block burned out and the next is well kept.
Most of the craziness involves criminals and associates. Unfortunately, every so often a bystander gets hit by a stray.
But if you're a square in a good neighborhood, you'll probably survive and enjoy living there.
Although robbery and or car vandalism/theft are things that should concern you. Be aware and avoid the hood. You should be ok.

It’s sad how people are so ignorant.. and feel confident stating their ignorance. “Stores are closing in Philly “. The reality is that restaurants, clubs and retail establishments are constantly opening in Northern Liberties, East Pasayunk, Fishtown, .. and center city is currently undergoing an expansion. There are new buildings everywhere and many areas are being renovated. Certainly, Germantown Avenue in Mount Airy and the commercial corridor in Manayunk is thriving with great restaurants and retail… yeah.. but “stores are closing in Philly” LMAO. Pure ignorance

I don’t care what anyone says about Baltimore. I used to live there and I loved it. I think it really depends on the person that you are, the things that you do and parts you travel to will determine how you’ll experience and perceive the city. I honestly miss living there and will likely visit it again and potentially even live there again. The downtown’s waterfront is beautiful, it’s a diverse city with a decent amount of jobs to offer. The only downfall is the rent is ridiculously high now, but it’s definitely not a bad place. Most of the people out there are cool and nice. Just use your head and you’ll easily be able to avoid all issues. I grew up in a rough city so I’m used to it.

I've seen crime happen (seen the aftermath of a car crashing into an apartment building). And needles in parts of downtown.
I did move to New England from Corpus Christi, I'm sorta glad I moved, but at the same time I live near Boston and there's a lot of crime in the outskirts of Boston

You know something is wrong when Convicted Murderers are out on bail just to commit more crimes like that asshole that robbed that place with a fake gun and was shot in the head.
It’s very despicable that someone who shot a convicted killer in the head might get arrested.
All this nonsense about vigilante needs to stop if the law would have done it’s job that convicted killer wouldn’t have been out robbing people he’ll be behind bars not shot in head for robbing people.

No one seems to mention “Camden” New Jersey! I am not being critical here, it is sad to see these things taking place in America, one of The Wealthiest Countries in The World, perhaps we should take care of our own before we give Aid to others and supply Arms for their Wars! I think some of the problems arise from the fact that some people are not paying their property tax. If there are insufficient funds in a city it is impossible to cover the cost of Decent Law-enforcement! If criminals are arrested and the case is thrown out of court or there are no consequences for the Crimes, this results in poor policing! If there are insufficient funds to repair damage the whole environment suffers! Drugs , a lack of Civic Pride, and unemployment ruin a City! Lawlessness begins in the home when children are infants, in some areas there are many Fatherless Children, mother has to work long hours to support herself and Children, who is at home to supervise the Kids?

How did you miss 2 of the worst? Twin Cities, Minnesota. Minneapolis, aka Murderapolis, has terrible problems with gangs, shootings, auto theft, etc, and is very understaffed on their police force. My friend who lives there won't go downtown, even in the day. There are shootings there almost everyday. The lightrail is too dangerous to ride, as are the buses. Some of the hoods there look like graveyards with memorials to the many shooting victims. St Paul is better than Mnpls, but it's bad too.

I used to work for a traveling casino. There was no money, just fun for company parties and similar events. We drove to New Jersey, found Seton Hall, then went to get a quick bite to eat. Found KFC and everybody stared at us cuz we stood out, being white. It just felt weird being looked at that way. Im not from a racist place. Anyway, we got a bit creeped out. Back on campus there was a healthy diversity. We did the event, cleaned up our stuff and went to the hotel. There was a dude that worked there in our hall to the room. He was creepy, standing and staring. I felt safer in the room. My friend then turned to me and said, i dont want to stay here tonight, do you mind if we leave tonight instead of in the morning. Needless, we drove the 6 hour drive home. I have to say, my feeling wasnt fear of one particular person, but it was the whole town. It felt a bit like the movie Deliverance when the guys go to the south, deep south, and those people and their banjo kind of feeling. Or like a movie where you pull into town, things seem off, but you shake it off as just your mind playing tricks on you, till you figure out you cant escape and the town has a dark secret. It just felt similar.
