Hi, Hard to recommend in winter as I haven't don't it myself, based off the terrain I experienced, I would expect there be a bit of snow and ice throughout which would require mountaineering gear and skills. Perhaps try in the summer first and gain a better understanding of the terrain before a winter attempt.
Hi Miguel, at the time of my hike, wild camping was permitted along this particular section of the Swiss Alps providing you were out of sight/off the track. Though wild camping along the Austrian side is not allowed. There are plenty of huts along the way too, though they tend to close early after the summer peak period. I got caught out and needed to pitch for a night on the Austrian side but stayed hidden.
hi, you did this during early October? how heavy the your bag was? what kind of tent u use ? tent hold to ground? tent weight? i’m intend to do hiking in Austria during October. any other trail in Austria u would recommend during this month October? hope to hear advise from u soon. tks :)
Around mid October but would depend on the weather and/or any recent snow fall. Most of the huts are closed during this time and the tails are quiet as the winter nears closer. check the updated rules on camping in the area. When I went, it was possible to camp on the boarder of Switzerland as long as you were out of sight. Austria they prohibit camping. I don't generally weigh my equipment anymore, but I typically aim for a base weight of around 12kg+ food/water/cameras. Tent was a 3 season about 1.6kgs
There are multiple options to shorten the trip and take if pressed for time. But yes, I did speed through it and covered more kms within a shorter period.
Loved everything about this vedio, landscape, music, everything!

Hello!
Do you recommend doing this trail in winter?
It looks stunning in summer, I'm wondering if doing it in winter is good idea :)

Such a stunning area and route. I’d love to do this. Is wild camping allowed?

@@ScalingSummits Thanks, the information is much appreciated.
do you by any chance have a gpx track of your hike and would share it?
No unfortunately, I don't often track my hikes due to draining batteries etc.
was the hike busy or were ther no people
I did this very late in the season around October hence not many people on trail. The day hikes from the Swiss side were more popular.

How did you do this hike in 3 days? I thought it took 4-5 days. Did you just speed through it?
There are multiple options to shorten the trip and take if pressed for time. But yes, I did speed through it and covered more kms within a shorter period.
