- Song is The Nocturnal House by Pretty Girls Make Graves off their 2006 album Élan Vital.
The player is a Sony CMT-EX1 manufactured in August 2000. I bought it used at a local thrift store. The sound quality is very good for such a small unit! The speakers came with the device as well.

Masha aime les contes de fées et bien sûr, elle croit que chaque conte de fée devrait aboutir à une fin heureuse, même si rien ne contribue à cela! Michka espère encore gagner le cœur de sa charmante femelle. Il trouve une accienne gondole au fond du lac de la forêt. Michka décide de le restaurer et invitesa belle à un tour romantique! Personne ne s'attendait à ce que cette historie fasse parfaitement correspondre le nouveau hobby de Masha : théâtre de marionnettes.

I had this as my bedroom music system for years - it was exceptionally neat. Kind of amazed to see these now go for quite a lot of money though! The only downside was that when dust got in the mechanism it was basically impossible to clean it out.
Cause dealers have taken over places like eBay and the internet to control prices on used items and keep them high. It's All about rigging the markets.
Looks like somebody is impressed by 1990's technology early 1990's technology
Physical media is so cool to see working. You don't get that with later cd portables or a Spotify playlist.

vertical players are so awesome. i have a Philips that has the see-thriugh door slide up which reveals the CD holder.

There's a few of these out there, though its more common for there to be a translucent door that moves out of the way. This is probably a better idea too, as it makes cleaning the tray easier.

I had one of the very first CD players. It was a Sony and the front door work like a cassette deck. That was back in the early 80s.

I had a Sharp Vertical LP Player which plays boths sides (2 arms) with a casette player and radio . My sister still got it.

I found a CMT-EX1 player & speakers at a local thrift store for only $13. Everything works perfectly. Definitely one of the coolest CD players of all time.

Man I had one of these when I was a kid. I didn't think anything of it I was like. Yeah this is my stereo. It's all right. Gets the job done. Now it's like so badass

It's insane how manufacturers of cd players can't make a player where you can see it spin. I'd buy a transport instantly.
I noticed a distinct lack of the "Magic of buying two of them" this video.
I remember when CD players only had a tiny window to let you know it was spinning. Snd that's before they stopped using windows.

I remember the first CD players that looked like this. Fisher was one Technics was the other models I remember. Wish I had one like this. Nice.

I love this CD player!
The one I have was my grandpas, bought another one for like 50 bucks for replacement parts.
At one point the disks wouldn't come up again, after opening it I found that the rubber belt for the motor was quite loose two cuts later and some solvent later it was as good as new.
I’m a 2002s kid and used to grow up watching my dad DJ. I freaking miss CD players and radios ( I know they still make them) but I used to listen to music with my Gummy earbuds plugged into the radio to listen to the radio stations in high school (2016-2017) before I got my first phone.
I had one of these in the 2000’s! Love PGMG, used to have the T-shirt for that album.

I've seen those and wished I had one. You'll likely find it at a thrift store, but might not be functional.
