We weren't near the eye of it, but extreme rain and severe winds battered us as we made an escape inland (we had been on vacation). The place we had been staying several hours earlier was under 6 feet of water as Floyd hit. Wish I remembered it.
They are going to MOST CERTAINLY retire Laura - because of the devastation she inflicted upon Lake Charles, Louisiana. Laura not only destroyed their Doppler Radar, but she also KNOCKED DOWN a Confederate Statue that the Lake Charles City Council adamantly refused to remove.
