Dam I wish I could go back to the sixties and live it all over again what a great time we had and thinking back I knew it was something special while it was happening I'm almost 70 now but I really had a great life
This is my most favorite song. I sang this song on stages several times when I was young playing bass guitar long time ago (1968, I guess) in South Korea when I was a sophomore in college. Mike Smith was the man of DC5.
Give me one kiss and l will happy just just to be with you great lyrics and written by the late Mike Smith also his version classic but so glad Peter and Gordon so glad they got back together before sadly Gordon died RIP you left us your music from a time unsurpassed

What a wonderful version of one of the most wonderful love songs ever written. As good as it is by Peter and Gordon (especially Gordon Waller), no one could sing it like the late, great Mike Smith. Mike WAS the Dave Clark Five. Without Mike's voice and musicality, there never would have been a DC5. Sure do miss him; miss Gordon Waller, too. Great music from a great time--the mid-60s!
Loved Peter and Gordon since I was 7 yrs old and I am almost 64 yrs old ! They were from my sisters era as she was almost 14 or about 14 when she had Peter and Gordon s 45 Rpm records in 1963!
Thank you Keith Putney Productions for this video Because is the first tme I see it time went so fast I'm 71 to me the best Duet Peter & Gordon on the 60 golden years it makes me so sad to know about Mike Smith from the greaters band Dave Clark Five one the best band of the 60 s still like it so much Because great music and also Gordon Waller passed a way it makes me so down Mr. Gordon Waller R.I.P.
Mike Smith was really the force behind DC5 he had incredible pipes, talented musician and wrote amazing songs. It’s very sad that Dave Clark was really a fake & horrible person. He put his name on every song which he didn’t write and he couldn’t play the drums to save his life. In the studio Dave never played drums, they had a studio drummer on all the recordings. Mike Smith got ripped off by Dave Clark who got royalties from the music Mike Smith wrote. When Mike Smith had his accident and need a special wheelchair he couldn’t afford a bunch of celebrities like Peter and Gordon and Peter Noone from Herman Hermits helped raise the money. Needless to say Dave Clark never gave a cent. There’s a special place in hell for Dave Clark! RIP sweet Mike Smith 🙏🏻
I never knew that, I always heard through the years that Dave Clark was a very strange person. I saw some photos of him in later life he looked so grotesque, not sure what happened there.
Both Columbia in the UK and Epic in the US both refused to put "Because" out as a single as per Dave Clark's wish. Dave told them wouldn't be getting any new DC5 material until they did. Suddenly they were very cooperative and "Because" became another DC5 smash. It's like their "Yesterday".
I often wonder where all those 45 s went.i see albums in resale stores and flea markets.but no or just a few 45s.i have a collection o dave clark five 45s in thier picture sleeves.i saw gordon at beatlefest before he passed on.
In 1969 I went for a holiday to England; swinging London. I came back with a suitcase full of second hand 45s. I knew them from the radio stations but the records were never released in my country. I was in heaven. I don't have them anymore, they eventually were all released on CD compilations, and what still went missing, I found on YT - the very first Soft Machine single!, the first one where Mark Bolan had a lead (Desdemona), Long John Baldry's very beautiful When The Sun Comes Shining Through (1968) and many more.
