Amazing race Sam, thank you for sharing! I have not yet had the privilege to race you in a top splits race in Formula Vee but I did I have the privilege to race both Shawn McQuillen and Michael Stevens in a few top split races. Afterwards I even had the chance to have a nice chat with Micheal Stevens for a little bit after a race and talk about Formula Vee series in general. This is my first full season running Formula Vee and it's a ton of fun. I've recently dropped down to 2nd splits but hopefully I can get back into 1st splits in the coming weeks. I usually only get in about 1 to 4 races a week late at night at 11:45pm time here in Canada. Sim racing has truly been a life changing hobby being a busy husband and father, I look forward to every opportunity to race whenever I find a window of downtime. It's racers like your self that inspire and push me to be an even better sim driver to reach those top splits in hopes of having the privilege to race top tier drivers like you. Thank you for your contribution to our wonderful community. Love from Canada eh!
What a lovely comment, thanks Richard and you’ve nailed best reason to Sim Race, enjoyment. So long as that’s your goal then you continue to improve. You’re doing well to be second split already, I think it took me a good few months after I started. I look forward to racing with you.
Great race and great video as usual. I'm happy I've been able to be part of it and to finish with a 0x despite Alex trying to wipe me out rejoining the track 😂
Found myself in a race with Shawn McQuillen this morning. Means your track guides are working and hopefully I'll find myself in the same iR as yourself soon enough
Great race Sambo! I've made the change to 2nd gear on turns 4 and 8 and I agree it is a lot faster. This was my first race giving it a try and I think the pressure got to me, every time I got into draft of Ben I'd miss the shift back into 3rd and fall back out of tow again. I'll be sure to put up a better fight at Oulton Park next week.
Fantastic race with some great defending. A real pleasure to watch.
Thanks buddy.
Tense race, the podium is a perfect ending. Congrats all, nice and clean. Only 3rd gear for me through corners.
I knew Seb would be wanting to come back through quickly and had to try and get a buffer. Also I need to figure out why I’m doing T1 so differently.
Does look a bit weird on the replay doesn’t it.
I find the box on these things an absolute bugger
It’s only my second week of simracing, but I’ve tried using 2nd gear today. I messed up my quali and had to start last, but somehow found myself at P3 on the final lap, where I downshifted to 2nd in T4, spun and lost the podium. It would have been my second podium ever if I didn’t downshift 😢
We’ve all been there buddy. It’s one of those where 2nd is faster but over half the people even in top split (of 12 splits) stick to 3rd gear. I’ve only consistently been using second for the last two seasons here. The first 3 or 4 seasons I raced here I just stuck to 3rd. It’s only worth 3-4 tenths anyway.
Revenge of the neutral on the before last lap! Good race. When are you setting up an official stream?
I think I’m a good long off people being interested in me streaming bud. But yeah, that neutral was very annoying.
I was hoping you won that one.
We actually had virtually the same field the following day in a 3.1k SoF and I did manage to win that one.
Great video! Out of curiosity, why do you race the vee instead of the f4 cars?
Closer racing and generally a better standard of racing as well. I’d say 50% of the time I lose my rear wing in the F4 on lap one. I’m in a couple of different Vee leagues and I run 3-4 officials a week. Also run the FF1600 which I enjoy a lot in league racing.
@@Sambo_iRacing eye opening tbh...
Any brake bias adjustment, or are you always 4 clicks lower?
4 clicks rear on this one again yeah for me.
