- Built in 1872, 672 'Fenchurch' was the first of the Class A1 Stroudley Terrier locomotives. The engine was purchased by the Bluebell Railway in 1964 and reunited with fellow class member and former shed mate No.55 'Stepney'. In early December 2019, 'Fenchurch' was moved to the workshops so it's overhaul could begin. The engine steamed once again in September this year and is expected to return to regular service the following season. This video showcases Fenchurch on a test run, hauling a goods train up the line to East Grinstead and shunting the wagons around ready for the return journey.
If you haven't already, I highly recommend giving the Bluebell Railway a visit. There you will find friendly volunteers, beautiful views of the Sussex Countryside and a variety of steam engines all of which are bursting with character. The link to the railway's website can be found below.

Wow, interesting video you put on with Fenchurch on a demonstration freight train working at East Grinstead 👍👍 I never seen a freight train at East Grinstead before and that is a rare that freight vehicles that rarely go to East Grinstead.
Great to see Fenchurch back in service again. Maybe, Stepney will be next to be overhauled.
To me personally I think they need to Overhaul either one of bluebell , birch Grove or the dukedog
Stepney needs more of a restoration then an overhaul. The Bluebell are collecting donations for when they do end up restoring her but that won’t be for a good long time yet..
@@terrier_productionsyou are right. Stepney will need extensive work on his wheels, tanks, frames, axle boxes, cylinders and main steam pipe. The most important part of all is his boiler needs to be completely stripped down and fixed up properly because the firebox has to be inspected for any cracks inside. Plus, the tubes inside Stepney's boiler have to be replaced with new tubes.
She looks damn good. When is the last time an A1 presenting terrier in Improved engine green was in steam? Probably Waddon at Eastleigh in 1963 before being shipped to Canada
Poplar return to service in Improved Engine Green last year if thats what you mean..
