    --------------------------
Uber and Bolt Drivers have interesting stories to tell. From long work hours to an industry that is getting congested and working in a high risk environment, on this documentary they tell their ups and towns as drivers in one of Africa's most violent countries.
They give advice on which places to avoid, and give interesting encounters with difficult passangers.
Approximayely 68% of South Africans use mini-bus taxis to travel to & from work, school and anywhere else they need to go but in recent years (Uber started in 2013 in South Africa) there has been a growing infiltration of ehailing services like Uber & Bolt.
It's a growing business with its own unique challenges, so I decided to speak to some ehailing drivers in Johannesburg, South Africa to find out about their lives as New age taxi Drivers, This is their story.

In my opinion, the most effective solution would be for Uber and Bolt to disallow cash payments and implement mandatory identity verification through a selfie and a valid ID.

That's exactly what drivers are calling for!

Exactly, I'm confused because this day and age allows that 100%. Uber and bolt must accept that uber services is not for the masses. I'm sure by them having a Cash option is to accommodate a certain class of people but as for me that stupid decision by them knowing all the crime rate in our country. I have seen so many videos of people on social media not wanting to pay after the trip but not a single video of someone who used a bank payment and tried a smart way to reverse the money to their bank account. This can be a filter on both end drivers and riders. In durban I have witnessed drivers who want Cash only and via garage to use that same cash to fill up. Now it just like a Taxi. Why have this top quality service only to be reduced to the nearest industry we currently have. If our Taxi industry had high standards we wouldn't be worried or talking about uber in this country. If quality service was offered by the industry we currently have we could be flourishing. We have many cars already, our roads cannot accommodate the number of cars on the road.

Mandatory picture of customers. Real name & surname. Will reduce attacks on ehailing drivers

It seems that the drivers face more danger than the clients though

Exactly, you can make as much profit and loose all of it in one Go. It a nice service though it just that in our country it too risky.

My take on this is! UBER is also Biased and that's a fact. "A rider is always right but a driver cannot be taken serious"
