listened to your podcast on my phone while driving this evening. Very good podcast and very interesting, as always. BUT Apple Podcast AND OverCast cut off the podcast at 55 minutes! So I checked here on the video version to see the rest - 6 minutes more! Just so you know
Loved the train. It looked like it was a double decker. Trains are so fun to ride in. I road in one from Michigan to Canada before and it was fun. Went on a class trip in grade school. Our class sold a lot of sweet tarts that year and paid for our trip. I remember. Did the kids like the ride?
A bit of trivia…Talkeetna AK is the small town that was the town character that was used in the tv show Northern Exposure. Filmed in Roslyn WA but based on Talkeetna. 😉🤓
Abby, Nothing like the QC’s in a storm! Just wait til Mid-America gets there to screw up traffic! ❤️ Glad you moved back home! 😘. Jason, you need to ride Metronet hard to get them to install your internet.
Jason I hear you on the debit/credit card thing. And nice you ran into a basketball player that’s famous. That’s so cool! Running into a local celeb is pretty cool. Awesome! Abby I agree with you what did happen to that gluten free stuff at Traders Joes? I love those frames you’re talking about. The pictures look nice in them. Hope you both have a great night. I see you soon when I watch your next podcast. Love you guys! ❤🤗🥰💜
Thank you for mentioning that about the awning. I saw just so happened one day scrolling through UA-cam videos and I saw someone I don’t who they were but they were in a bad storm and I watched their awning rip right from the Rv and fell to the ground. I couldn’t watch the video after that. My mouth dropped open. They had it out not rolled up. I would have pulled it in. But it was wired their awning just ripped right off. Sad. I just hope they were ok. I could watch. They must have been ok or it was someone ekes filming. It was a while ago this was. It devastated me.
In my area (Quebec), charging credit card fees are illegal and it’s actually Visa, Mastercard that won’t allow it. So the work around is some businesses post a credit price and then a cash rebate. Works out to same thing but the CC companies can’t do anything.
Loved discussion on CC charge. We would eat out more often if it didn’t cost $30 for two people to have a simple hamburger. Losing business in the long run.
Another thing on the CC Processing fees… businesses don’t lose that money. They literally claim it on their taxes at the end of the year as merchant services fees and that reduces tax overhead at the end of the year.
We have a Mobil here that charges 20cents per gallon for cc or debit. There is an Arco across the street that is far cheaper. Every time I see a car in the Mobil I wonder why
I think I read that in the UK, prices have to be posted including their form of sales tax (VAT) as well as any fees. I don’t see why US retailers shouldn’t do the same. True cost shouldn’t be hidden from the consumer!
I agree with Jason about the money grab that some businesses are doing by charging for credit card and debit card usage. Small businesses can deduct the fees that credit cards charge them for transactions from their taxes. Individuals can’t.
Deductions are only a percentage of earnings, so say at the end of the year the $50,000 in fees might result in a $8,000 deduction from taxes or savings. I get your point, but businesses are being pressed just like you and I.
The Chevron here charges a fee between 10-20% extra for credit. I no longer use that station, can't wait for the competing one to finish being built. We're 20 miles from town and they take full advantage of that. So slimey. Major pet peeve.
It’s from Cotopaxi and I love it. Looks like they’ve discontinued my two color palettes together and put this blueish purple with an orange. www.cotopaxi.com/products/coso-2l-hip-pack-cada-dia?variant=39543094181949&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADmisfuHVTN2qv1u6bf6VwtbnTic_&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5o-6-JTvhAMVNF1HAR11HwRdEAQYBiABEgLUM_D_BwE
Thanks for the feedback and we’ll take a look at levels on the next show. This kind of feedback is always appreciated as we work towards improving and providing quality information and entertainment! -A
So far I’m still subscribed thank goodness to the podcast. But hopefully it’ll stay that way unless it unsubscribes me. As I’m watching you. I’ll just do what I did with Rv Miles. Going to watch your podcast and I’ll comment in a bit.
Thank you for checking on this. It’s incredibly frustrating that @youtube decided to take subscribers away from us and to make a decision for you as to what you should and shouldn’t be subscribed to. Glad to see you here! -A
@@RVMilesPodcast Oh me too! That wouldn’t stop me from watching people I love. I never gave up just frustrated it took me forever to redo it. But it worked. I had to do Josh that way too! But I’m glad I’m with you now! If it keeps happening I’ll keep subscribing and unsubscribing. And plugging in those Rv Miles. lol!😂😂
Sorry I put plugging Rv Miles. I didn’t realize I put plugging I meant logging in. I didn’t have my glasses on. But I’ll keep plugging too with the Rv Mikes as well. I love your name for the place where you are at. Oh where I’m at on the podcast is Abby talking about getting up to Target and almost getting hit by electrical poles and visibility was zero. No pole almost hit us but we were in a white out and a brown out. Thank God Abby you made it through.

We’re staying 4 days just north of Talkeetna at Denali State Park. Then 5 days in Denali National Park.
Abby I’m done with you on having nachos. Love them. Have had them in a while but planning on it now! lol! 😂 😂
For Talkeetna, Abby must have said "coffee" times while you showed 2 different shops. 😊

I would have panicked too Abby if I was you! I wouldn’t know what to do. But just to take a few deep breaths.

Came here to catch the end of the episode, as it was cut off early on Apple podcasts.
Apologies for that. It’s fixed now but you’d have to delete the version you have and download it again. Glad you could join us here! -A

Holy moly that was a scary story at the top of the podcast! Glad you made it home.
You and me both!

I thought if you sign for a debit card, it is processed by Visa/MC as a credit card for fee purposes. The low fee is only if you put in the PIN?

No internet? What does the coffe shop use than? Sorr im not quite caught up, if ya got this issue taken care of already
Also, in the early footage of Talkeetna, Abby is wearing a nice little purple bag. What is the brand?

I agree with you, Jason. No business owner is going to say, “I only take cash.”
It’s very frustrating and the transaction fee feels very misguided.
@@RVMilesPodcastJason, there’s hamburger places here in LA that only take cash.
We camped on the River bank for 2 weeks in our 369 Solitude.
I hate the gas stations that have a different price of gas, depending on cash or credit! I refuse to go to those stations.
Minor point, but on your intro I had trouble understanding what you were saying due to the music being so loud.
