It is actually time transcendent Heart Connection. You see, Mickey, Riku, and Sora, the Trio of Power in the Battle against Ansem, Seeker of Darkness , Xemnas and Young Xehanort in Three, dream into each other. ( Mickey is the Voiceless Voice in the Dreams, in the Realm of Darkness) And because Sora, Riku, and Mickey Hearts have been outside their bodies, they are Metaphysically connected across all their versions beyond the Time and Space. It is what happens when, as Riku put it, you "transcend the 4th dimension". You get De ja vu, and just "Know stuff", and have prophetic Dreams. It is why Young Xehanort is the way he is, because Master Xehanort released his Heart into Terra, and transcended the 4th dimension. But it also means that everything that happens to you was always going to happen to you, you just get to learn why as you move into the future.
Pete is the definition of the dumb one who has massive power, but is so dumb he doesn't realize just how much power he has. Firstly, the door. But there's more to it than that. Re:Coded, he SHOULD have ended up with Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Jiminy in the digital Disney Castle room. But SOMEHOW, with him looking at the group and thinking of how to use the digital worlds for his (and Maleficent's) benefit, he SOMEHOW ends up in an area of the digital world where he can do EXACTLY THAT. Something tells me that it WASN'T just an accident, like it seemed. The dude has more to him than meets the eye. He wants something to happen, it'll happen, given that nothing interferes. He got to go back in time, he got to *almost* take over the digital worlds... it's only a matter of time before he starts to realize how much power he has.
It is Disney Magic. Pete wished upon his Heart (Stars in Kingdom Hearts) and drew the Door out of himself. It is made this way to Parallel Riku. (a person who worked under Maleficent once)
