It has come to my attention that I made a few errors in my previous Contra Hard Corps video. I uploaded a corrected version of it. This game deserves the best review possible. I apologize for the inconvenience.
The reaction to seeing my character running down the street fighting a giant ass robot made me laugh almost as hard and as long as on Bloodlines when I saw minotaur enemies ripping pillars out from under platforms and attacking me with them. It was the sickest shit I ever seen in a game that age!
I don't think that even the most dedicated SNES fans can deny that this game is freaking awesome. And I am saying this as someone who grew up with the SNES, and barely even heard of the Genesis during the 90s.
Contra Hard Corps was oozing badassery back in the day and it still does today. This one needs a remake / remaster / you name it. Brad Fang was my favourite of the 4 :)
I believe in the UK this game was called Super Probotector. Almost the same except that the man and women were replaced with robots. I loved the werewolf saying "its payback time". Edit: When writing this comment I hadn't gotten to that piont in the video when he mentioned the different regions.
In the 16 bit Era, many Japanese developers started making the western releases more difficult because of the rental market. They were afraid that if you could beat the game in a weekend that you wouldn't go out and buy the game later.
Awesome review! I love the editing, the jokes, the voice, the script, all. Algorithm blessed my feed once more and I am sure you will grow your channel super quick with this quality production. Keep up the great work, dude!
I'm playing through the anniversary collection so I'm guessing that's why this video was recommended. I decided to give it a chance and thought it was funny but wasn't blown away. Then there was that venture bros reference and I'm hooked.
The sheer insanity this game achieved in the Sega Genesis is a feat to behold. This video fully appreciate that and I Ioved every minute of it. Great humor! Fck yeah Brad Fang is the coolest character in gaming history 🐺
Waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than Contra 3, not that C3 is bad which is not the case, the different play styles of each character and multiple endings never made me feel tired of this game.
My only minor nitpick is that it can be awkward to press between the Shot modes, instead of holding in the button, since it is easy to forget when you are stuck in "Shot II" mode - it would have also been cool if you could lock the gun in one direction as long as you keep shooting (kinda like the jeep in "FirePower 2000"). But apart from that, damn awesome game.
I actually got a bit of enjoyment from the 3d contra games on ps1. Everyone says they're terrible, but I don't think they gave it a chance. Definitely not fantastic, but not unplayable.
I got to the final boss, with 1 life and no continues. He asked me to join him. I figured there was zero chance I was beating him, so I said yes. That was the only time I got that far. I don't remember what the ending was....I think it was a betrayal though. I do remember playing with a friend and trying to die on purpose so he got the ending where he went back in time and married a monkey though! Hahahaha.
Yea... When I think of bat shit crazy, I think of Contra Hard Corps. I have no idea what were they thinking when creating those bosses. I wish some will recreate boss fight in Unreal Engine in hyper realism, just for the sake of it. Hell maybe AI can help with that issue.
I find it unfortunate that so many contra-likes choose to iterate on contra 3 rather than hard corps. Even the sequel to hard corps is more like contra 3 than hard corps.

Agreed! Appreciate the effort!

This is the best contra game ever made in my opinion, awesome review.
My 2nd, after the first NES one.
What a great video. It has what is often missing in a lot of these sorts of retrospectives: passion and ‘this is how this game makes me feel.’
Time for Contra: Shattered Soldier review?

I hated him because he was too tall. I found Brownie to be the best. Less chance of getting shot. Nice special weapons too with aim not needed.
Reupload? Guess I'll rewatch
I appreciated you invoking Symphony of the Night's soundtrack.
Once invoked, it refused to leave.
The robot fight on the train is my favorite boss in a Sega Genesis game. The visuals are captivating.
Love the soundtrack for this game! also great video! :D
Brad Fang

Great review! Back in my childhood years this game was one of the most desired on the marked akin to MK3U
I love Neo Contra too. :) Especially helicopter chapter :D
What an excellent and in-depth review!

It's payback time! :] Nice video👍

Man, how did Contra: Hard Corps and Gunstar Heroes end up on the same platform, only around a year apart?!
Kobashi also worked for Kaser Sorsea!

great review, this game was all balls
Damn. More Contra reviews please.
I'll gladly re-watch your content.

I didn't know you could slide past bosses....damn.
the punch is the strongest weapon in the game when its charged
9:54 Screw Long Hands Man (yes that's the name of the machine 💀) No matter what I do I keep getting smacked by this piece of shit
Difficulty curve is insane, this doesn't make it a balanced game, but a game ONLY for diehards. Saying that, it's beautiful.
Japanese version is accessible.

re-upload?
I had to make a few corrections. I made some bad typos and such.
That boss glitch is not in the real game, the japanese version anyway. Tell your friends fortnite is gaynite.
I got the anniversary collection and I got the farthest on this contra game
