Hello Professor Tom. As a fan of you and your excellent instructional videos (many of which have benefited me greatly),I feel it only polite and correct to let you know that I received my Blue Belt yesterday evening. I have great coaches here in Arete, Thailand, but it's also important to acknowledge the part you have played in my journey too. My thanks Sir. 🙏 Oss!
I've done this successfully for a number of years but don't train with folks that ever do it to me. I've always wondered, does this turning/rolling back take fail if the bottom player simply opens their guard to let the top player disconnect and essentially roll away from them. Or is it more difficult than it seems to unhook the leg? Prof. Tom didn't triangle when demonstrating the back-take, so my question is specifically when that is the case. Obviously if he's triangled we stay connected. Thanks!
So you do not need to triangle your own leg, or only if the opponent does something (or nothing as the case may be) with their own leg(s)? At the beginning you triangle; At the end you didn't.
Another great video. Im gonna wiggle my way into quarter mount and work this until i can fire it off like a smoke bomb. I image when one is good at this, it feels like fucking Nightcrawler appearing on your back.

I want that longsleeved rashguard
Thank you, Professor!! Will this work if our opponent has us in 1/2 Guard or Lockdown? Obrigado!🤙🏽
I don't think so, just quarter
No, your knee needs to be free. If youre in half guard, free your knee first then execute!
Appreciate it,, thank you
@@MrWeaverwa Why? I tried it from halfguard and it worked great.
@@DrMakak same here
