My wife banned me from watching you so now I have to wear headphones!
Ah damn sorry man, she a Crusaders fan or something!? 😅
@@TwoCentsRugby
That is why I don't have a wife 🎉
😂
Would be nice if the Cheetahs could take the place of the Rebels.
Cheetahs and Kings
@@dawidmaree5002 What do you get if you cross a Cheetah with a king? .....
A cheetking 😜
Absolutely great idea 💡
Would be great to have South African teams in super rugby again. It used to feel like test matches going to Newlands watching the Stormers play against the NZ teams. I think the winner of Super Rugby should play against the winner the European club rugby so that we can know who the best club team franchise in the world is. Imagine Blues versus Toulouse.
I love that Gazza was giving the ref the business hahah
Never been banned but did have an incident where I tackled a player who fell into a touch judge, he got injured and we then had to go down to 14 men so one of our players could replace him to run touch as no one else could run touch and both teams had no Subs (our only two subs were already playing for opposition to make them up to 14). Surprisingly our own player running touch was a little biased. 😂😂
Lol yeah I'm sure that foot wasn't in touch ;)
Back at High School, one of the parents on the sideline got a red card for running onto the field and taking out a player who was having a go at his son. Good times!
Lol protective parent going next level eh?
@@TwoCentsRugby Haha, when i was in high school one of my friends mother(who hadn't attended rugby before) stormed(hobbled) onto the pitch of our 1st XV game waving her walking stick umbrella yelling at the "stupid coconut"(big islander bloke) to leave her boy(also islander) alone at our mostly white school.
I played for a large university club side back on the US east coast in the early 1970's. Our entire organization was banned from a number of regional commercial venues because our annual awards parties were too raucous.
Hi Mark, love the content! Basically, the 6 team playoff (I'm presuming here) will be same to the top14. The 1&2 teams go to semifinals, and the other 4 battle for the other semi spots. Keep the videos up, we all love it!
That makes sense mate!
Happy to be one of the 8 percent! Good luck to your Blues for the SR finals 😊
We'll be happy to have you backing the Blues - although keep in mind that road usually ends in disappointment
@@TwoCentsRugby ha I’m a force fan disappointment is a way of life 😂
"You can't trust people. People like Coldplay and voted for the nazis." a quote by Super Hans, from Peep show.
Lol yeah that's even better
All Jez wanted was lager and peanuts at the pub 😢
lol, Coldplay 😝
Good to see all the rugby content on social media. It shows there are interest in the game and that is always good for everybody.
I think had this channel been available in the French language and not just in English, their would have been more French than us Saffas on here.
I saw research related to rugby support in the world. I think it was done in the mid 2010's. They asked people basic questions like who their national captain is, what is the name of your local club and so on. The country with the most people who had a basic knowledge of the game in their country was France with 24,8 million people, second South Africa with 24,2 million people and so on. You Kiwi's had only 3 million which surprised me. I know you only have around 5 million people but I thought they all follow rugby. I guess not, some like their netball?
Ah man it's a sad state of affairs at times. My last job at the local university - I don't think any of my 15 or so office mates followed anything but the biggest All Blacks matches
Same. I'm on a project in Wellington and there's only one other guy who is minimally interested (although they all know the Cruz were terrible this year😢).
But, everyone was interested in the State of Origin send off last night, which was quite a tackle I must say
@@TwoCentsRugby How big is the game at school level? There is very little information available on school rugby in New Zealand and France. A month ago St John's from Hamilton in New Zealand toured South Africa. They played a game against Paarl Boys High second or third xv. Boishaai is one of our traditional big rugby schools. They also played at the Wildeklawer festival which is the biggest rugby and netball festival for our top schools. They struggled, but it was awesome to see the boys do their Kaka and enjoy our country.
24 million is less than 50% of the population of SA its over 65% of the New Zealands population roughly at least.
@@rhyswilliams4893 For sure. I just thought it would be more. It is much more than here in South Africa as a percentage óf the population. How is the game doing at schoolboy level in New Zealand?
You must also consider that untill 1994 most South Africans didn't play rugby at all. Most of our 11 black tribes didn't play rugby, especially the Zulu people who are our biggest tribe wifh eight million people. However that is starting to change. The new Zulu king who grew up post Apartheid played rugby for his school. If the trend continues we still have a lot of growing to do. Last year was the first year in SA schoolboy rugby history that two teams with predominantly non white players in their first xv made our countries top twenty. This year there are three and one is in the top ten. Hopefully things will keep going in that direction and soon our whole system can be merit based which should make a massive difference to our clubs and the Springboks going forward.
Being a rugby union fan in China must be a frustrating experience but you've reached them!
Yeah mostly it's seen as "isn't that American football?" over there
It's usually the same word used for both sports in Mandarin, to add to the confusion.
Yeah they're both "olive ball"!
We had a guy with our team (a spectator no less) get sin binned when the ref made an egregious call in the first few minutes of a game against a Las Vegas rugby club. The entire sideline was howling with disbelief and the ref singled out a spectator.
Went to the bathroom while this was playing and came back just in time to see my name on the Patreon list. Thanks for the content.
Haha man that ref wasn't taking any nonsense eh? And yeah man cheers for the support!
... just watched the Namibia ref tackle video original and it is hilarious how that Afrikaans guy screams "bliksem hom" 😂 ...not sure who he wants "bliksemed" 😂
A knock on is more worthy of the Try of the Season award if this is the best the viewers can come up with.
My father was sent off a field by the referee while he was the assistant ref on the side 😅 Arguing over a certain call and he then threw the flag at the referee and told him to shove it somewhere
Lol damn that's one I've never heard of happening
Don’t thank us SAffricans cos we love your work bro! Nice job as always. Such great reviews in an honest and fair way.
I appreciate that!
I mean, that young winger from Saints scored a great try against Munster. I say that as a Munster fan
My dad passed away a couple of weeks ago. When SA toured NZ in 1993 he got so upset at Sean Fitzpatrick talking to the ref. His sister stayed in a very small rural town at the time amd we visited them. The games were on at 4 in the morning and we had to go to the golf course clubhouse the next town over 50km away to watch the game on TV. At the end there was a small riot as my dad had upset everyone by being so upset himself (do you know how bad you must be to turn your fellow fans against you when you played the ABs, especially back in those days). My dad was a great guy, he had a massive funeral so people appreciated him. But he was having a bad day 31 years ago 😂😂😂 (ironically the same game Johan le Roux decided to chew someone's ear off).
Sorry to hear about your dad mate, but yeah that's a heck of a story! Hopefully he was in a better mood not long later
@@TwoCentsRugby appreciate that. He was one of those people whonwere always in a good mood. He just couldn't deal with Naas Botha (as a Transvaal fan) and Sean Fitzpatrick (as a Bok fan). Other than that he was alright 😊
I’m tempted to work on a video on how to save super rugby, but to simplify it here start off with a 10 team competition, cut the force 3 Aussie teams 5 kiwi teams & 2 pacific teams and make it a top 4 final.
11 teams. Top 4 make the play-offs (semifinals).
Never been banned but after multiple disciplinary hearings as a teenager was assigned stone picking duties on the new field back in the day 😅
That try has to be fans trolling, but what I wonder is how was it even nominated in the first place ?
Yeah man totally bizarre!
I think all of Bordeaux's tries were better than that one
Man your channel is doing great 80k... Who said you need a studio, 👍
Yeah the living room will do for now, lol
Six Teams would be a first 2 matches with 3,4, 5 & 6, then the winners go vs 1 & 2. That's how the Top14 works (France).
That would make sense mate!
Makes total sense. I would like that 👍🏆
Another great month Mark, thanks for all the chat and updates. The female fans increasing is good news too! There’s usually just me and Nov Mum in the live streams 😊
Yeah exactly! It's good to see though!
Apparently they did a "most likes on a twitter thread" compeittion and had the winner as the first post, which means it gets far more visibility than later tries, hence such a bad winner. The issue isn't with social media, but the mug who thought likes in a twitter thread was a good way to measure it
I'm with you on that they Mark! 😂 The refs have to be protected even if they make mistakes. The game would be a disaster without the respect players show them and could not go ahead without them.
I remember being at
the football ( soccer) match & the manager telling a fan that was giving him agro all game
long to go & join his wife up at the designer outlet
if the standard of football his team was playing was not good enough for the fan.
The fan had been saying
all game long how bad the team was paying the fan was complaining constantly in ear shot of the manger.
And the manager was not someone you want to mess with he is a well-known former player
& could hold his own against any man.
So the fan is saying all game long how he would be beter off shopping with his wife than catching this 💩 & he is really giving the manger some agro big time.
So, with about 20 mins to go in the second half
the manager turns to the fan & tells him to go & join his wife.
In terms of Rugby
I remember one fan at
a Glasgow Warriors game a guy in his 50s, getting told to moderate his language as his language was getting rather colourful, buy a fellow fan, a female.
And I remember going to watch
Scotland V The All Balck
back in 2012.
And there was a group of guys between 40 & 50 years old I would say in the very front row absolutely smashed out their skulls with bear & they were booing
Dan Carter every time he took a pen.
I was sat a few rows behind them in the
east stand at Murrayfield
& this rather posh older lady turned & sead to me
Is that not disgusting behaviour at a rugby game.
I agreed with her and sesd to her I thought they were likely football ( soccer ) fans that had just come become
The All Blacks where in town.
I remember being
at Celtic Park for
The Pro 14 Final
Glasgow Warriors
V
Leinster
& this guy appeared towards the end of the game he was dressed like
something from braveheart he shouts
Freedom at the top of his drunken voice I think he thought it would go down well but unfortunately for this clown it did not & everyone round about him just drew him dagers & he just had to stay where he was he looked genuinely terrified when he relished what he had did had not gone down well he looked panic-stricken like he waited to escape but he had no place to escape to
The morol of that story is
know & understand the environment you are in.
Keep Safe.
Yeah man absolutely - my dad actually stopped going to Eden Park with his Greek Cypriot mate back in the days because that fella was constantly flirting with danger!
Does banned from a pub count?
LOLOL
Is hk classified as China? My vpn is usually set for hk…
Might be!?
Your poor dad!!
I’ve not been banned for anything rugby related, but I once got banned from a shop when dropped soup I made in school all over the guys floor
Ah man what kind of soup? Pea and ham?
@@TwoCentsRugby it was a long time ago now but I think it was leak and potato. The owner wasn’t very happy 🤣
Mark did you try and watch 72 of your own videos while in china 😂
Lol I was back by May, so definitely not me ;)
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🍻🇿🇦
Red,s and brummie boy,s to prob win.?
Chiefs might be vulnerable given their form aye
Namibia, the land God made in anger....
I always thought that was
Scotland because he hates us all otherwise why would he give us such shite wether constantly even in the summer.
If it's not raining it's not Scotland lol.
Did your dad rate the ref less than 12/20?
No matter what, it's always 12/20 mate!
My late father-in-law banned me from their property on my first visit to his daughter after school. A few years later I got him back by making her pregnant and then marrying her! 😂😂😇 (We later became very close, I have to add).
You showed him !
Lol wow - that's a cracker mate
@@creekyknee Prexactly! 👍
@@wouterswanepoel5753 Thanks for sharing that, I have to say I thought it was very funny. Especially the "making her pregnant" bit.
@@creekyknee Wasn't funny at the time mate! But both sets of parents pointed no fingers and immediately switched to support mode ... for which we were very thankful.
Leave the game alone leave the scrum alone, if you want to do anything get rid of some not so good referees. And teach the rest to read off the same him sheet please.☘☘☘☘☘☘☘
I am female
One of the 8% or so! Hopefully we can get to 10% by the end of the year
My wife banned me from watching you so I moved to China and use VPN
Sounds about right, lol
How come kiwi s are so bad at footie today.😂😂😂😂😂
