Fort Minor, like Dead by Sunrise, was songs that didn't fit within LPs musical style at the time. This is why they had their side projects to begin with. In 2005, when this album came out, LP were working on Minutes to Midnight. They were really busy during this time.
Generally, LPU (Underground) would get some sample tracks. These songs were just a few of more than 100 songs that they would write and record for their upcoming albums. Unused tracks would go to these side projects.
Chester also had some throat surgery so mike kept himself busy haha
Mike Shinoda actually did a whole album called Post Traumatic after Chester's death R.I.P. The whole album had to do with the struggles he went through after it happened. Would love to see a reaction to that if possible

Johan Nugroho Thanks! I used to be so into LP that I’d basically read anything on their Wikipedia. “Skylar Grey” was a name she came up with later, with Holly Brook being her real name. I get why she did it, lends itself to a much darker and more serious vibe. Wish they could collab again with all that’s been going on with Mike. Edit: Also Mike’s label he created was her first, being signed at 17. She released her first album under him.

Fort Minor was a collab project that consisted of Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park + Styles of Beyond (Ryu, Tak, DJ cheapshot)
Mike signed them when he started his own label, Machine shop.
SOB is a notable hip hop duo from LA. They made some noise in the underground hip hop scene during the early 2000s with albums 2000 Fold, and Megadef. Ryu mentions Bleach, a track off Megadef, in his verse here.
Ryu and Tak are really talented MCs, as you can tell on this track. I remember being really happy for them when this track came out. It was getting a lot of play during NBA games on TV. Not sure what happened, but the Fort Minor thing with Mike didnt work out. SOB also had music in some of the earlier Tony Hawk video games.
