WOW!! I'm going to be in Crested Butte next month. I want to ride to the Crystal Mill on my DR650 and found this road on Google Earth. Further research lead me to your helpful video. Thanks for the virtual ride-along.
Can't believe I did that pass back in the mid-70's on a 1971 Yamaha CT-1, Not the power so much, but the suspensions back then. Also did it once or twice on an IT250 - lots of power on that one.
The pothole filled with rocks on the left side of the road at 15:58 is very intimidating when you are driving a full size k5 blazer! The rock on the opposite side of the road forces you to go through the pothole with your tire slightly hanging over the edge. I was there 8/28/15. You are a good rider. That bedrock would be hard to ride on a motorcycle. It's steeper than it appears on the video.
Where was your start point? I gave it a go for a bit coming out of Crested Butte (in a Durango) and had to abort the trip due to snow cover and a diminishing testicle size.
were you going towards crested butte on Schofield, or were where did you come from?. I'm doing a guided trip with some big bikes and we may want to go down instead of up it ..... thanks in advance.

Started in (or around) Marble. Wouldn't want to mess with that road and snow. Your testicles made a good choice.

I came from Marble towards Crested Butte. The trickiest part is the punch bowl
