In this tutorial series I want to share some thoughts and insights about my hike and fly philosophy.
The first video is about how to prepare your gear in order to have good, safe and confident starts even at challenging starting sites.

Awesome new format! Great idea.
Looking forward to all the other episodes!
awesome footage quality btw.
So satisfying, it feels like watching my own routine. 10/10 recommend! The only thing I kinda add to this is not just checking the As but also the break lines for knots/sticks/etc. And also clearing the wing tips.
Hey thanks for these additions! I should have included those two points in the video!
Thanks very much. This is great information!!
Pls More
I plan to make about 6-7 other tutorials over the course of the next years ;)
Thanks dude! Great footage and phenomenal tips
Hó, nice Vid, subbed. Do you think a wind meter is worth to invest? Which type do you use? Thx
Nice to hear :) absolutely! In the beginning I was told that its not worth it because when you get better you will have a better sense how much wind there is... but thats not true! You will need a wind meter to compare your feeling with the reality and get better this way. I often need it for Soaring Sites, too. I use this one and can recommend it ;)

Thanks for the video
super Tipps, ja, bitte mehr !
Completely agree to point 2,3,4 on point 1 i do it differently
Tell us how you do it, maybe we can learn something! :)
@@peakandfly I prepare everything very neatly at home and only lay out the glider at the launch site. First about 1/3 then I hang myself in the harness and start. It feels better to me that way. I also always hook in for a forward launch, although I mostly do a reverse launch. I don't know if it's any better that way, at least it's always gone well so far.
@@MartinRiedlbaumeister Sounds like you thaught a lot abnout this topic and this Routine is working perfectly for you! :)
Thanks for the tips. Will be great if you make the a video how you chose the place to launch depending the mountain/weather. :D
Youre welcome! That's right, but if you are honest and want to choose completely freely and then do the whole thing conscientiously, reliably and legally, it's also a pretty complex topic that is difficult to squeeze into a video. Among other things, this will be the content of my workshops and will also take up some time there. Maybe I will touch on some parts of it in future tutorials.;)
Good video. Just a small English tip: Use the word "launch" instead of "start".
Thanks for the advice! I will remember that..
Thanks!! Very nice videos. Do you have a list of the equipment you are using available?
Hey, no, not really, some of the things we use are in the video description. Maybe we will make a video about the different setups and recommend equipment in the future! ;)
Top. Hat mir auf jeden Fall weitergeholfen
Freut uns! Schon Praxiserfahrung sammeln können mit der Routine? :)
@@veritas5545 yes, cool! :)
Looking forward to the next parts!
Nice video :)
Great video!
Haben wir in unserer Hike and Fly Schule genau so gelernt:) super video
Interessant!
Good job!
Danke Christoph! :)
