    If you suffer from Restless Leg Syndrome, you may be LOW on iron. I have had some RLS for years, and it got worse when I started giving blood regularly. Now when I experience symptoms and also for a couple of weeks before and after I give blood, I take a 27 mg iron supplement. That has eliminated the symptoms and gotten me off the prescription meds I was taking for RLS! Apparently a common cause of RLS is low iron levels specifically in the brain. And that is common in those who regularly give blood, even if post-menopausal like me.

    This is excellent! We just lost my mother in law to Alzheimer’s. She was a brilliant lady who lost all cognitive function and eventually could not swallow. It has been tragic for our family over the many years of care. Knowing that diet and mild exercise can reverse this disease is empowering to her children-it’s not imminent, it is something we have the power to prevent. Like Dr. Campbell let us know with cancer! Even if it’s in your genetics, it does not have to be fatal. Mahalo for all you do, Dr. Barnard! You are a hero among others like Dr. Ornish and Dr. McDougall! Bravo!

    Coincidentally, listening to Dr Barnard, I realised our daily breakfast meets his targets (taken with a B12 tablet):
    Per person: 2 tbs frozen berries, defrosted overnight on top of 1 tbs chia seeds. In the morning, freshly grind 2 tbs flaxseeds and add to the bowl with 1 tsp tahini. Top with 2 tbs organic, coconut, almond or soy yoghurt plus half a small banana. (my husband has the other half). We eat this when we get back from our early morning walk!

      I think it's called blood blister. I suddenly got it twice this year. It was very strange because I never got it. So I googled it and it said that sometimes really sour or tart foods can cause it. I had eaten a lot of kiwi. And when you eat a lot of kiwi especially that is not very ripe it can happen. I didn't wait for the kiwi to get ripe enough. But the last 3 or 4 we're ripe but it was too late. So the blood blister appeared in my mouth. And also it could be a food allergy to cross pollinated with other food. For example if your allergic to bananas and don't know you are. And then eat a sour or acidic food it can happen. Try seeing a doctor and also a dentist. Mine went away when I stopped eating the kiwi. But see a doctor if you haven't already. Hope this helps. Have a blessed day. GOD bless.

    Dr. Barnard, the ocean water is full of iodine. People who eat sea vegetables and even vegetables grown in coastal areas and areas that had once been covered with sea water have lower incidence of goiter. Sea salt contains iodine in an easily assimilated form. It is not a standardized level of iodine, but then, how do we know whether all iodized salt contains the same level of iodine? We only need a very tiny amount of iodine for thyroid health.

      Dr Greger recommends omega 3 DHA & EPA supplements from algae.

    • @RK-tf8pq
      @RK-tf8pq Рік тому

      There is a controversy in this field. But you must listen to a lecture by Dr. Tim Radak with a title “Do vegans and vegetarians require a DHA supplement?”. This is available on UA-cam. I can’t place a link as it will delete my comment. Dr. Radak has researched this area for many years and according to him there is no evidence that you cannot get EPA and DHA by conversation from short chain omega 3 (ALA). Short chain omega 3 (ALA) can be obtained from flaxseeds, chia seeds, walnuts, etc. Listen to his lecture on UA-cam, it is a very thorough examination of the subject. Main thing to do is if you are consuming short-chain omega 3 foods and still have lower levels of EPA and DHA, then take algae based supplements (fish also get EPA and DHA by eating algae). Conversion from short chain omega 3 to longer chain omega 3 (EPA and DHA) is regulated by body, so you have optimum level of EPA and DHA. From supplements, you can get excess as body cannot regulate its intake from supplements, and excess EPA and DHA have been associated with cancer.

    Why do you have to age at all? The nature tells us that living eternally is possible? Immortal jellyfish can live forever, and scientists like David Sinclair says aging is not a law and science should be able to reverse it in the near future.
