Thanks for reviewing the base LX model. I actually prefer the base 8.5" infotainment system, the matte black and silver dash accents (as opposed to the gloss black in their place on the higher trims), the keyed ignition, and the light gray interior, which I believe is only available on the base LX. The only feature it's missing for me is auto climate control. I do value that. It's an unbeatable value and a lot of vehicle for under $22k.
Its fun to drive, and very convenient and comfortable! My sister had a 53 hp Geo Metro, which had 147,000 miles when she sold it! I love this motor ( 2.0 147 hp/ 132 ft torque). It looks like a comfortable, fun, mini cargo van!

When you are driving it would be nice to see the dash instead of the road….I just got my 2023 Soul EX and I don’t find the camera grainy all!
The EX is the top trim for 2023, so you have the upgraded infotainment system at 10.25 inches. The camera in the base trim, which is in the video is only 8 inches without navigation. The base camera is a bit grainy. The camera in the 10.25 inch system is better. Thanks for watching and the comment.
@@chabbysrides I’m in Canada and here the EX is the mid level trim I only have the 8” info screen and it is Crystal clear! 😊
We test drove the LX and it is grainy compared to my 2015 Sorento
Currently have 2019 kia soul I love it!!! Gonna trade it in for this model soon
Halogen lights have a huge advantage over LED. you can actually replace the bulbs! LEDS are sealed units and cost a small fortune to replace them at least $500 per unit PLUS the labor (if you ain't tech savvy). The Halogen headlights light up the road decent enough and are easy to replace. Protect the lens covers though. You need to do that annually or they will yellow out due to UV exposure. I'll replace all lamps with LED equivalents once the Halogens go out. Need conductive grease on all contacts to prevent future corrosion.

Chabby, how is inside cabin noise at freeway speeds? Also, how stiff vs smooth is the ride?
I have a car exactly like this 2023 Kia soul and the same moves very swiftly it is not slow at all.
I’ve seen other vids where the lx model back up cam was clear, they come with plastic over the camera lense. I wonder if the tape was over the camera when you reviewed it? I just ordered a 23 Steel Gray with the tech package and black interior. I traded a 22 Buick Encore for the Soul. I absolutely hate the Encore!!!!! It’s much heavier than the soul and it has zero safety features and not that great on gas at all!!! I get like 22 to 25 mpg on the encore. The Encore isn’t as roomy either. It’s just bland and has a rough ride! I’ve owned Kia’s before with zero issues. I also love the better warranty!!!!! Mine should arrive in 8 weeks!!! My Encore is black and I hate that as well lol. I won the Encore in a drawing at my job so i didn’t get to pick what I wanted. I would never buy a Buick but because it was free I tried it out. Great video!!

I don't even use it. I can see plenty well enough from the driver's seat in the Soul without even bothering to use it. I use the mirrors as well. I don't know why they even invented the thing probably for lousy drivers to begin with. BTW I also always back IN to perpendicular parking lots. Yeah that's what EVERY driver does in Japan I wonder why? They do not have angled parking in Japan & if you don't believe that check it out on Google Earth.
Isn't the Tech package supposed to come with the upgraded infotainment system?
Is this the same mars orange as in previous years, because it definitely looks more red?
I recommend a mic for more consistent sound quality. Voice goes in and out when you look away from your camera.

Engine is now port injection, not GDI.
I recently drove a rental Soul for a week but wasn't excited with the handling, acceleration and suspension. With all due respect to Soul's upgrades, I ended up with a 2023 Kona SEL instead (for the same exterior dimensions and engine horsepower and torque). It included a versatile SMART mode for a combined-sporty handling and as opposed to Soul's standard jerky/sluggish CVT, a modified iCVT made for nimble and quicker acceleration when passing or merging into faster lanes is required. As with the Soul the Kona also installed the complete safety feature technology as well.
I don't find the Soul's CVT to be the least bit "jerky". sounds like you need a "GT" vehicle, not LX. I've never used "sport" mode (not that kind of driver). I used to drive a 7.3 powerstroke diesel and had no problems merging with freeway on ramps and that thing took well over 15 seconds to reach 60 mph!

They are practically, fuel efficiency, traveling around the city, dropping kids off from one place to another, and running errands.
That is exactly what I want. My seller charged me $25,035 excluding the doc fee and sales tax. Am I getting a bad deal because you said it should cost around $21,000 for this trim level.
I just test drove and it was 21,120 for LX. They may have charged you over MSRP which a lot of dealerships are doing
Yeah they added a “market adjustment” to yours which is crap because there’s no shortage of souls out there. I just bought one for $21,700 which was Msrp, I still consider paying sticker a bad deal but dealers are super greedy right now
How do you turn off the shipment mode?
@@seth4795 thank you for letting me know. I was shocked to see that my dealership sells my trade in 2018 Ford Ecosport for $24,900 where they gave me $16,000 as the trade in price.

why don't you just wait for the dealer to Prep the car for sale ?
I like the Soul but I'd prefer a better tire brand, or an option for another brand came with Kia.
In 30k miles you can choose what tires you wanna replace the originals with. I have the 2024 LX and have no issues with the backup camera. You really don't need 4k resolution on a backup camera so I don't really know what this reviewers beef is with the camera as its plenty good enough for its designed purpose.
My 2023 Kia Soul LX has a grainy backup camera ONLY at night. It’s clear during the day. Why is that happening? Only at night. Someone let me know. I’ve had my car less than a week.
1st and 2nd generation were the best looking ones. They could have done better on the news ones. Who agree?
Are you saying the tape is removing the paint as you remove the tape? If so, that does not say much for the paint job.
The tape on the roof was stuck on big time and I didn’t want to chance hurting the paint. Better to leave it to the dealer.
