i'm honestly so heartwarmed to see an LPer i like do a kingdom hearts playthough but totally in earnest and not going into it like "WHOAAA KINGDOM HEARTS IS SO DUMB AND WEIRD AND CONFUSING LET'S MAKE FUN OF IT HAHAHA"
these games mean a lot to me, and i grew up on them. in a weird way, my relationship with liking kingdom hearts was part of my journey of self confidence and actualization, but that's a whole other story for a whole other time
yeah thats a big reason why im so hyped for this LP, I'm so used to people shitting all over KH. Liam from RISING SUPERSTREAM actually streamed the whole KH series a couple years ago i think and i feel like he did a really good job taking the series at face value, as well as doing all the secret bosses and stuff. super super excited to see penny get into KH though! marble and penny make such a great couple, in LPing and in girlfriend alike
NicoB also did a lets play of Kingdom Hearts without knowing anything about it and he loved it. Maybe you could check out that lets play too.
If y'all like let's plays by people who love the series you should check out play frame. They've done every game and dan truly loves the series.

As a gal who's recently played through the KH series with her girlfriend who has never played, watching this is giving the kind of energy I need right now being unable to see her. This was so wholesome and nice, I'm beyond excited!

@@theinimitablejora522 Yep the first game has an actually kind of easy to follow plot. But after the first game, the series plot gets so convoluted and uncessarly complicated.

despite knowing most of the plot of kingdom hearts this was like a strange religious experience with all the art nouveau disney properties and choir singing. HOWEVER i think this is gonna be one of my favourite snapcube series bc penny and marble are so cute, have such good energy and always make me laugh :)
Btw, that segment that ended with "Your journey begins at midday?" Based on your answers, it determines how fast you level at different points in the game. Super fast at the early game (Dawn), super fast in the late game (dusk), or balanced leveling throughout (what you went with). KH1 is the only game with a system like this in the series.
In hindsight it does seem like Kingdom Hearts I had a lot of things in it that never really returned, both in story and gameplay.
The "journey begins at [so-and-so time]" thing, but also Cure being a spell that uses a set amount of MP instead of just using up the whole gauge, the MP gauge not recharging after it's emptied, the concept of there being a single Keyblade Master chosen by _the_ Keyblade, the idea that parents exist...

4:59 Not gonna lie, it took me a good few seconds to notice that this wasn't the actual song, since I haven't played Kingdom Hearts before. Then again, if this was the song, then the game's whole atmosphere would be interesting...
Late af to this but i still find it funny that the game "teaches you" that smashing barrels/crates can yield items sometimes...but in my experience it happens so rarely that it isn't even worth it? Meanwhile the chest doesnt even give you anything xD GG tutorial.

so fun fact: choosing your 'strength'strengthens a stat. of course the sword makes you stronger, but the shield gives you a larger health bar, and the magic wand gives you a bigger magic bar.

Okay, but the Simple and Clean (I kid you not this is the real title) Ray of Hope Mix that they used for 0.2 is the most peppy and fun version of that song on the planet. It absolutely slaps and everyone needs to hear it.
Just a reminder: Sora is, like, 5'4... Dat boi's got a 6 foot vertical leap... BEFORE you get the High Jump ability!
Also, this was my number 1 favorite game until 2005, when kingdom hearts 2 dropped.
