Renault modus indicator / light stalk replacement. lights intermittently turning off

Step by step guide on how to replace the indicator / light stalk on this Renault modus, same procedure for the Renault clio. intermittent fault were the lights randoms turn off or flick between dip and main beam.

The ones on eBay are some cheap Chinese crap compared to OEM version

I fitted one of the cheaper Chinese ones and it works perfectly for now. I don't expect it to last 18 years like the OEM version.
