That no longer applies to the fugu fish. They are no longer poisonous to eat since they are commercially raised on a diet of non poisonous coral. So eat and enjoy!

I’ve been watching the whole series on Disney +. I’m currently on Season 23, and naturally I have finished every classic era episode and this one stands out as my all time favorite. It isn’t the funniest episode but it blends comedy and drama so well. Many people love “Marge vs the Monorail”, “Cape Fear”, “Last Exit to Springfield”, and others. They cut the best line. When Homer is talking to himself, “Try something new Homer. What will it hurt? “ They took out the “I never heard of a poison pork chop.” A classic line from the stomach of Homer Simpson.
This episode used to make me cry. My grandfather died very suddenly when I was four and I never got a chance to have a goodbye and I like that he did all these things even if he didn't die at the end. So many never get the chance.
Makes sense. As long as you can keep the body working until the body is metabolised and excreted. Since it paralyses the body people normally just stop breathing.
@@SirDankleberry potentially would work, But if you ate enough to be lethal and you've stopped breathing, that's only 4-8 mins. Not including the heart stopping
This is what I love about early Simpsons it could toe the line between serious and comedic. Just the tone in Marges voice when she wakes up to no Homer and the fear in her voice.
This was a great episode. I had this and a dozen other episodes on video tape when I was a kid, and I used to watch it every weekend. It felt different as a kid. The seriousness of it didn’t dawn on me. Now, as a 32 year old with a wife and a kid, it hits so hard. I’m 100% sure that if I had 24 hours left, this is pretty much what I’d do. Also, I’d apologize to all the people I’ve hurt in life. But mostly this.
