There was an HBO documentary called "When We Were Bullies". It was about old bullies trying to make amends with their victims from school. In it some guy tries to say sorry to someone and that person flat-out says that they don't accept the apology and that they don't want to be a part of the documentary. The bully pretty much says that it doesn't matter because it's their story just as much as it is theirs so they can air stuff out, and that they accept their own apology even if they do not. Sometimes bullies change. I was bullied like hell in school. Several of my bullies (without any reason) apologized to me. A few have added me on social media. From what I can tell, they have changed. The ones I added on social media I've talked to a bit as well. Some of them just didn't know anything was wrong. Which is easy when their parents also saw nothing wrong with it. Some of them had horrific childhoods, their parents were abusing the hell out of them. And a few of them found out the hardway that bullying is bad. The ones I talk to don't feel society forced them to stop, but that the consequences of their actions finally hit them. I haven't looked up the ones who never apologized to me. So I don't know how they are doing

The lesson learned - at least for irresponsible creators - is that if you are big or famous enough, you can get away with anything. What SSSniperWolf & UA-cam did was set a horrible precedent! By showing weakness and showing that they are willing to look the other way, it tells other creators that as long they are UA-cam darlings they can do whatever they want and the rules won’t apply to them. And this sort of story usually ends when someone gets killed, the government gets involved, or both!
The best thing that could be done at this point is a legitimate competitor to UA-cam. And they'd need to take as many big names / original creators as they could get with them, especially ones UA-cam had screwed over in the past. I doubt it would happen but it would really be there only thing to get to UA-cam, especially if the competition got popular.

I've disliked her as a content creator for a long time, and when this all happened, I thought it was it, the pinnacle of my time spent in UA-cam. Oh how wrong I was to think UA-cam was any different than Twitch to not only hesitate, but be reluctant to give any real punishment to a person who just gave a half assed written apology for making another human feel unsafe in their own household. All it would take is one sick headed viewer to go over and harass/assault Jacksfilms, and if the viewers don't boycott her channel out of existence, she'll be making content a year from now as if nothing ever happened since the rate at which content comes & goes has made everyone's attention spans reach historic lows.
I sincerely hope Jacksfilms is not only gearing up to take Sssniperwolf to court, but UA-cam as well. This shit is laughably unacceptable. He should really open a crowd sourced legal fund to contribute to as well, because this affects everyone on the platform and I guarantee there are tens of thousands of people who would be more than willing to donate and support this case.
What Sniperwoolf did was wrong, but that doesn't mean Jack is right. Trying to stop another creator is acceptable, but it's evident that Jack also capitalized on Sniperwoolf's content and attempted to profit from it. If his sole intention was to halt what she was doing, he could have chosen not to monetize the videos. Clearly, when the videos he made about Sniperwoolf performed well, he continued to create more. If what she did can be classified as content theft, then a significant portion of UA-cam creators should also be removed from the platform. At least she didn't completely appropriate someone else's video and react to it, as is common in many reaction channels. Moreover, if this is indeed a violation, it should be something that UA-cam addresses, rather than relying on other creators within the platform to handle it.

I'm curious if this situation would be enough for other banned/demonitized channels to serve YT with a class action suit for "selective enforcement" of a contract (aka the TOS). YT has clearly demonstrated favoritism and other people have suffered financial harm as a result of YT's inconsistent enforcement and/or deliberately redefining certain language to accommodate large creators when they get in trouble.

My guess is that any user activity that 1. Reduces YT earnings or 2. Damages YT's brand is going to be downplayed & dismissed as quickly as possible. Just the way most tech companies work. Codes of Conduct & other policies are insurance policies for the company, not users.

Politicians and lawyers use tricks like that when addressing accusations against them or their clients (in the case of lawyers) to avoid reinforcing the connection between the *specific* accusation and themselves or their client. In the case of someone accused of a crime, as NurDarki said, it also allows the accused to address the accusation without turning it into a specific admission of guilt. Honestly though I'm fairly certain Sssniperwolf picked the wording so she can show it to her Instagram followers and UA-cam subscribers without it looking like an admission of genuine wrongdoing to them.

There was an HBO documentary called "When We Were Bullies". It was about old bullies trying to make amends with their victims from school. In it some guy tries to say sorry to someone and that person flat-out says that they don't accept the apology and that they don't want to be a part of the documentary. The bully pretty much says that it doesn't matter because it's their story just as much as it is theirs so they can air stuff out, and that they accept their own apology even if they do not.

Sometimes bullies change. I was bullied like hell in school. Several of my bullies (without any reason) apologized to me. A few have added me on social media. From what I can tell, they have changed. The ones I added on social media I've talked to a bit as well. Some of them just didn't know anything was wrong. Which is easy when their parents also saw nothing wrong with it. Some of them had horrific childhoods, their parents were abusing the hell out of them. And a few of them found out the hardway that bullying is bad. The ones I talk to don't feel society forced them to stop, but that the consequences of their actions finally hit them.

The lesson learned - at least for irresponsible creators - is that if you are big or famous enough, you can get away with anything. What SSSniperWolf & UA-cam did was set a horrible precedent! By showing weakness and showing that they are willing to look the other way, it tells other creators that as long they are UA-cam darlings they can do whatever they want and the rules won’t apply to them. And this sort of story usually ends when someone gets killed, the government gets involved, or both!
The best thing that could be done at this point is a legitimate competitor to UA-cam. And they'd need to take as many big names / original creators as they could get with them, especially ones UA-cam had screwed over in the past. I doubt it would happen but it would really be there only thing to get to UA-cam, especially if the competition got popular.
My theory is that the "temporary" lack of monetization only lasted the time it took her to make that public apology.

I've disliked her as a content creator for a long time, and when this all happened, I thought it was it, the pinnacle of my time spent in UA-cam. Oh how wrong I was to think UA-cam was any different than Twitch to not only hesitate, but be reluctant to give any real punishment to a person who just gave a half assed written apology for making another human feel unsafe in their own household. All it would take is one sick headed viewer to go over and harass/assault Jacksfilms, and if the viewers don't boycott her channel out of existence, she'll be making content a year from now as if nothing ever happened since the rate at which content comes & goes has made everyone's attention spans reach historic lows.
I sincerely hope Jacksfilms is not only gearing up to take Sssniperwolf to court, but UA-cam as well. This shit is laughably unacceptable. He should really open a crowd sourced legal fund to contribute to as well, because this affects everyone on the platform and I guarantee there are tens of thousands of people who would be more than willing to donate and support this case.
What Sniperwoolf did was wrong, but that doesn't mean Jack is right. Trying to stop another creator is acceptable, but it's evident that Jack also capitalized on Sniperwoolf's content and attempted to profit from it. If his sole intention was to halt what she was doing, he could have chosen not to monetize the videos. Clearly, when the videos he made about Sniperwoolf performed well, he continued to create more.
If what she did can be classified as content theft, then a significant portion of UA-cam creators should also be removed from the platform. At least she didn't completely appropriate someone else's video and react to it, as is common in many reaction channels. Moreover, if this is indeed a violation, it should be something that UA-cam addresses, rather than relying on other creators within the platform to handle it.

I'm curious if this situation would be enough for other banned/demonitized channels to serve YT with a class action suit for "selective enforcement" of a contract (aka the TOS). YT has clearly demonstrated favoritism and other people have suffered financial harm as a result of YT's inconsistent enforcement and/or deliberately redefining certain language to accommodate large creators when they get in trouble.
The fact that UA-cam pulled the "well, Jacksfilms is bad too" card while Sssniperwolf or whoever and whatever on her behalf said "no, you know what, I am fully in the wrong, I am sorry" said a LOT about UA-cam's priorities.
Both of their actions can be bad, talking about someone else's doesn't negate anything.

She apologized 30 minutes AFTER UA-cam "punished" her. So there is definitely a deal going between them. She also posted a picture on Instagram with the phrase "we show up at your house, what would you do?" after she doxxed Jack. If UA-cam didn't do anything she would have never apologized. I hope Jack takes her to court because apparently doxxing is illegal in California.

Its like everyone has already forgotten the QuantumTV fiasco and that was just a few months ago. This is UA-cam's modus operandi, they've done this exact thing for years an uncountable number of times. Rules exist for everyone equally unless that someone makes UA-cam enough money.
Charlie has finally gone from calling it "borderline criminal" and "almost illegal" to actually addressing it as the crime it is. That is positive character development if I've ever seen it, someone read up on state laws.
Specific state laws or not. Doxxing will be under the umbrella of harassment in any state/country that has a decent legal system.

The "recent actions" bit is 100% legal/political speak. Politicians and lawyers use tricks like that when addressing accusations against them or their clients (in the case of lawyers) to avoid reinforcing the connection between the *specific* accusation and themselves or their client. In the case of someone accused of a crime, as NurDarki said, it also allows the accused to address the accusation without turning it into a specific admission of guilt. Honestly though I'm fairly certain Sssniperwolf picked the wording so she can show it to her Instagram followers and UA-cam subscribers without it looking like an admission of genuine wrongdoing to them.
