What an awesome set up, I love it. Such a lucky fish, makes me so happy for it, he has such a big home, no predators, a loving owner and loads of food. What a peaceful life to have, I wish I was him ❤️. Every Betta fish deserves to be spoiled like this!
Amazing technique of hiding the under gravel and powder mix on the edges of the tank by scooting it back a little before capping with the Aqua Soil. I also love how you filled the tank using the colander and floss to keep the water from disturbing the plants or substrate. It worked very well! I've wondered myself of a technique to use that actually works and this is very smart (the plate technique doesn't really work). The colander and floss allows the water the filter and flow through very slowly. Genius!
One of my favorite tanks so far. I love the thought the whole family shares the affection for a little fish like captain red beard. Our three kids love our neon tetras and Amano - and Bloody Mary shrimp, I think it adds something special to a family to care for an aquarium. Like a little universe to discover newly again and again.
I wanted to get a free Oase filter but they were out of stock. Loved the cat at 14:35 (staring contest with Captain R.) and 14:40. And about this aquarium: It sure is a great one, love every inch of it !
This tank is so beautiful the composition is almost perfect and that waterfall is breathless. The only thing that is off is not for a betta splendens. This is more a rainforest acquarium, betta loves more kinda paludarium, almost calm waters (in video betta was washed away when feeding) and some plants above the water level to hide and closed tank for temperature (cos betta breaths air sometimes, the difference between air and water temperature can cause shocks). Take in consideration please. This is not a critic is some more information people have to know. Cheers!
Why? Where do you live? There should be a reseller practically anywhere who has Tropica in stock! And if they've got Tropica, they'll probably also have Oase and similar.
Only watched the preview so far, this tank is looking incredible! People scoff when I tell them Bartholomew (My Betta) has a 34l tank to himself, there's something special about the Bettas 'owning' their tank! It'd be interesting to know what it was in particular that put you off Marine, it's something I've always loved the look of but always been a little scared to give it a shot.
Same mine has a 10gal and I've literally had people tell me that's too big for a betta but he loves it and im looking for a 20gal so he can have some corydoras and like 10 amano shrimp with a couple nerites and platies or guppies
Was rewatching this and then it hit me that he (the beta) is not with us anymore :(. Gotta say though MD, this tank is an absolute joy to watch, I wouldn't mind if you mixed in this type of style video once in awhile compared to your more VLOG style that you have been doing for awhile. Not complaining but just a suggestion because I found this video an absolute joy to rewatch.

Like the idea of the heater in the filter. My aquaterrium set-up water level is only 8 inches deep. The conventional heater-thermostat kept riding to the surface till it eventually packed up.
And this people is a proper betta tank. I'm in love with how much space the fish has. Keeping a betta like this can help its lifespan a betta can get 6 to 7 years old. Plz don't keep a betta in a jar or glass. Because then you are a proper idiot. Great tank bro❤🤘

I've been considering a similar rescape myself, I have one of those 25l superfish home jobbies, it's been nice to get back into fish keeping, we used to have fish when we were little. And I wanted fish after I stumbled on a George farmer video, since then planted aquariums are life! I picked up a 60l jewel that I will be modifying soon to look nice. Is it too soon to ask how the biomaster is doing?

When are you going to scape a tank that doesn’t look the mutts nuts,so much admiration for your work 🤘🤘 I’ve been running the same filter for just over a year and found the Oase brown 30ppi far better in the prefilter a lot better than the blue sponges supplied,I also have 3trays of biohome ultimate in the filter,checkout Pondguru on the tube,he has a play list called pimp my filter lots of good advice,not that I think you need it😉again your work is tremendous👏👏👏🏴
I've been following you for a while now and love what you do with your aquariums. I'd love to see if you could get hold of a chinese fire belly newt (Cynops. Orientalis). If you could make a video around it, would be mind blowing. Also would love if you could make a indoor or outdoor mini pond with maybe rice fish or beta's!!!

I keep 10 aquariums on a really strict budget. If you look at some local selling sites for your area you can pick up all of this sort of stuff for a fraction of the cost
@@hugogourdine7963 Depending on where you live you might not need to buy hardscape. You can use natural rocks you find in forests or near a river, easy and cheap. You can't get driftwood there but pebbles and natural rocks are easy to get your hands on. For the plants, maybe you know someone with a thriving aquarium who needs to get rid of some cutoffs, those are perfectly fine to use. For light you can just take a look at MDs tanks, just using a floodlight works wonders.

This is really cool tank I wish it was filled all the way up the fern would look so cool against the top of the water in the flow nice job.
Betta's can jump! Probably why he didn't fill it all the way

This looks like a perfect starter set up for someone. It’s super hard to find all the supplies on line for something like this.

For the plants, maybe you know someone with a thriving aquarium who needs to get rid of some cutoffs, those are perfectly fine to use. For light you can just take a look at MDs tanks, just using a floodlight works wonders.
