In this video I will share my top 7 colouring books that I purchased and which were published and released in 2023! These are beautiful books with lovely artwork - they may not be my favourite books of the year, but I may share that in another video.

What were your top books that were published in 2023?! Let me know below!!
Hi Shel have a great new year full of love, success and good moments. (i`m waiting for my copy of spooky but still didnt arrive ). I dont have the new Aeppol or Kubikowska books because they are both a lot pricey( someday lol!) As usual sometimes I noticed we have similar tastes in books. My favourite 2023 books were: (and it was hard to choose so mine its a bit bigger ) Mythographic Aviary, Woodland Watercolor by clare therese Gray, Christl Vogls : Ausmalreise ( there are 2 in 2023 love both of them ) , Lost and found RJ Hampson, sirénes du monde Diane Dufour, cute chibi creature coloring by Phobe Im, Enchanted Earth (although I prefer the first one by her) , my reise durch Afrika,Wildflower folk and A friendly squirrel and the residents of the antique town by Mona ( ah, just mentioning the new Eriy book but still didnt arrive also_)
The Jaguar is being seen through because their coloring as a cat makes an illusion that you see jungle through the big cat. As an artist who understands wildlife, she is showing this off. When you color a grown adult deer, you would color it to match the tree bark of the majority of trees that surround it.
These all are on my Wish List!! ahhhhhh!!
I can’t buy the Karolina Kubiowski books because of the blank, dead eyes in some of the pictures-they just freak me out for some reason. Lol. But I think you have a great selection otherwise. :)
Animaux Des Boris, Enchanted Earth and Master Prints are my favorites. Thank you for sharing yours.

My favorite book published in 2023 is Nounours Therapie by Diane Dufour. (Teddy Bear Therapy)

LOVE Karolina Kubikowska!😍 The rest are too sweet for me. Especially "Flower Folk", such big eyes😅

As soon as you showed us the 'Spooky' book, I knew I really wanted to order it! And what a funny--hilarious, actually----book it is! I sat in bed last night and just stared at page after page. Those 'creatures' that she grows, waters, lavishes love upon, are all just so winsome. Even those with teeth in their petals. What a clever illustrator. (And I love that her own cat was an inspiration!) Thank you so much for a delightful addition to my love of 'cute' coloring creatures!! Lynn in NYC ❤

Mythographic Aviary is 1 of the only 2 Mythographic books I own. I love Aviary. I also have Cosmic Spirit which is pretty neat too. Otherwise, I am not a fan usually Mythographic books, but these 2 were the exception.

❤ i bought myself Africa, which was my 1st Rita Berman book.
I also have one Korean colouring book and it's hardback and called Nostalgia about a girl and her black cat and I also bought Dromvenger but am waiting to get back into colouring as I have been so unwell with covid.
Thank you for showing us your top 7. I absolutely can't miss your videos and my palms are itching with the need to use my Albrecht Druher watercolour pencils. That's been my main problem as I can't make up my mind which pencils to use, as I have also missed my inktense.
Hope you have had a happy Xmas Shel. Your channel is inspiring and even though I came out of my mum with a pencil In one hand and a book in the other (ouch, poor mum) I always learn something as my Albrecht Druher have been my right or die favourite pencils so I absolutely identify with your love of the Albrecht Druher pencils/ watercolours.

The particular page of the creature you said wasn’t for you was an Axolotl. They are typically a very interesting pink creature that lives under water. It could be a very cool coloring page. Sometimes they are even white.

Meine Reise Durch Afrika by Rita Berman is one of my top 3 favorite books! I have only colored a couple of pages because it's so precious to me and I am afraid to mess it up! It's not an easy to find book, so I know I probably can't get ahold of another copy. Her other books are much easier to find so I wonder why her Afrika book is different?!
I am not actually sure to be honest...but I have heard that some people haven't managed to get the book either

Thnx so much for showing us your top 7 books, I have a question about the Flower Folk book, do you think it would take watercolour paint, it's pretty pricey at £19.99 and I thought it would be great to practice my skills with watercolour. I could use my pencils, but I'm not good at doing skin and I wouldn't want to ruin the book. Hope you had a fabulous Xmas. Tfs xo
It absolutely takes water mediums. The publisher is an Aussie company that also prints Jasmine Becket--Griffith and one of my favourite books they published (apart from Wildflower Folk) is a lady called Rayvenne Phelan who did the book Dreams of Dragons and Dragon Kin and I have done quite a few pictures just in watercolour. You will love the Christine Karron book and I doubt you will regret it as it's worth every penny.
