Even with arteries severed one can live for hours before passing. There's a video online showing a motorcyclist ripped in half, making multiple phone calls telling them that he was going to die soon. It's honestly one of the craziest videos I have ever seen, due to how calm and matter of fact he is regarding the situation

The Nine Familial Exterminations wasn’t the execution of 9 family members. You’d have to provide… multiple, sources for that mate.
Every trace of this punishment I’ve seen says it was a formulaic process, involving Immediate family, close friends, and loved ones. One source said that the “tribes” were actually nine different ways you could be related to somebody. In fact every source said the clans weren’t literal clans so much as it was a term.
It's not 'nine other family members' that were also executed, it's all members of nine other related extended families, bringing the total executed people to a few hundred.
ik, it's like they don't do actual research and just use non-scholarly texts to make those videos.

You live in a society with the rule of law, a justice system and police. Different points in history needed different techniques to get people to behave. There are so many ways we take our culture for granted and even judge it harshly.

Interesting they mention the guy who was cut in half by train. I've met him at a conference, he spoke briefly at a paramedic conference a few years ago I was attending. The main responding agency spoke about the incident because it was so unusual (and horrific) with the inquired person still surviving. They had a trauma surgeon and anesthesiologist respond to scene because they had to do much of the initial procedure on site to free him from how he was basically wrapped around the train wheel by his legs (what was left of them) and as I recall his crushed pelvis was pinned under the wheel. They got him free then basically bandage things up as best as they could and got him to the hospital. Very low survival rate as one could guess but he did. He spoke briefly right after the FD/EMS people did . He had been an employee of the railroad.

I lost half my blood and was still dragging my shattered leg. There’s no doubt in my mind I will be alive and suffering even if I’m horrifically injured. The only plus side is the pain isn’t that much worse than less serious injuries.
During the invasion of Panama, a soldier was blown out the window of a guard shack and landed about 50 feet away with no pelvis or legs. By the time I got there, he had died with his fingers interlaced and holding the intestines he had been pulling back in. He clearly was alive and reacting without a lower half. He certainly could have been writing instead.
This is one I have not heard of at all. It seems to be the worst one yet

Regarding the guy who got run over by the train not bleeding out:
The reason he survived longer than someone who would be cut is because it's a crushing injury. The blood loss is severe, but the arteries and veins are physically crushed at the ends so they don't leak blood quite as fast. It's the same principle of why a scrape can stop bleeding after a few minutes, while a clean cut can weep for hours.
I keep thinking about the beginning of Walk Hard... "Dewey, I'm cut in half pretty bad!"

When I was younger and idiotic enough to seek real-life gore videos on the (mostly on the back-then LiveLeaks page), I did see some accident victims that were torn in half crawl around for a little while. One of the ones I saw actually hugged his own legs. I wish I could unsee that footage, but the accounts are not as improbable as suggested due to shock.

There's a few fact I think you missed:
2:16 instead of Han Xin I think the correct translation from Chinese(項羽) should be Han Yu
3:24 not 9 of his family members, Nine Kinship means 9 generations of his family(Basically killing everyone related to him)

That's crazy I know a train hopping transient kid who messed up hopping on a freight train and had his lower half crushed he survived but his dog did not. I didn't see it but I saw him afterwards in the wheelchair couple months later. I used to work outreach programs for homeless you and teen moms.

It’s sad that I know this, but there are tons of videos of people still alive after being cut in half on gore sites. Most are attempted suicides from being run over by a train, but I’ve also seen a handful of auto accidents that ended that way. It’s no doubt that the vast majority of those people surely died, but there is at least one video I’ve seen of this Chinese cop who was cut in half and lived.

The railroad accident probably crushed enough arteries and veins, to slow the loss of blood.
I know of an incident at Buckeye Steel, in Columbus Ohio, where a guy got caught between two train cars, and was coupled between them. The fire department arrived, and then called for a surgeon. The man was alive and talking during all of this. They finally determined that he would likely bleed out in seconds, if they uncoupled the cars. So, they brought his family in to say goodbye.
This is why we should be able to stop our hearts at will.
I saw a Video from Pakistan where a man was cut in two halfs in the belly area. He‘s in shock and don’t recognize what happened. There’s nearly no blood loss. He crawls around and reach out his hands to the spectators for help. They avoid him, but keep on talking and filming him.
