- NFL Network analyst Steve Smith Sr. joins the Dan Patrick Show and discusses why he thinks the Carolina Panthers benching Bryce Young may actually benefit him in the long run
Steve looks like he's going on live from heaven lmao
😂😂😂
Literally came to comment the exact same thing🤣
They have the best streaming equipment.
😂😂😂😂😂
Rip
Steve put in a good word for me with the lord.
Why is Steve interviewing from heaven ?😂
😂
😂😂
Did you know Bryce Young holds the record for most completed passes in a single game for under a 100 yards passing . 18 completed passes for 84 yards
Did you know he didn’t do much because the panthers suck. Qb doesn’t just make plays all by himself you know. Learn some Football.
@@jamesmcintyre407these 2 games are all his fault
Why Steve look like on front of ah obituary 😄
💀💀💀
😂
Lmao he chose that background too
They HAD to bench him.
Yupp. I'd argue he shouldn't have played last year with the terrible roster and the rest of the circus around him. On top of all the criticism. Needs to train and learn on the side and in practice
Needs to be traded to the dolphins. Go Phins and Roll Tide
Steve Smith the Heavenly Father 🙌
I don’t believe Young was ever ready to be the starter they should have sat him from the start. Now they have destroyed the kids confidence… now I’ma need Andy to go out and throw for 250 and I’ll feel much better about this team. Keep pounding
When Steve caught that TD while breaking his arm the all holy father decided he would let him into paradise above. RIP Steve but glad he can still analyze the NFL from up on high.
Somehow, Josh McDaniels caught a bullet courtesy of Steve Smith.
Facts... Steve Smith was on the TV crew at Bryce Young pro Day.. practically begging for Bryce Young
He is not a NFL QB! Whose idea was it to skip the combine. He wasn’t a great processor. He had a great line and was able to move around.
And he has a terrible line in Carolina. Should he be better or worse under those conditions? And he's already had multiple coaches in less than two years...
@garyspence2128 He has a top line in the NFL, but I bet you haven't watched one Panthers game and made this blanket statement
@@4u2c95 you think Carolina has a top OL? lmao
@@juanvaldes7342 last year no, but they statistically have the 5th best pass blocking grade so far this season. bryce was the least pressured qb of *all* teams in week 2. dont forget the bags they threw at their two new mountainous guards that he cant see over now
@@kungfupurpz you think you can determine what that OL is after 2 games? Lol
Team sport, it’s bigger than one position.
Tiny QB with an average arm and speed but very very undersized. No amount of training or learning will make the guy grow 5 inches.
“You let one of dem boys hit me. Somebody won’t be playing tonight “ Steve Smith😂
none of these people on ESPN know what they are talking about, you can tell they dont watch the games. Last year was on us, this year has been on him! We didnt expect perfection but not this bad, he mad no improvements while we improved in every area on the offense. He has to sit, and need to stop pounting! Got everyone trying to baby this grown man...
I cannot get over the Bryce coping and babying... Maybe because he looks 8 years old lol
True Statement
It’s 2 damn games …
@@zachstolpa6521 if you watched the games live, then you know how bad it is. The teammates gave up on him! Not the organization! We had to do something. I was telling myself give him till week 4, I didn’t expect it this soon
@@sudukemsn man everyone on TV and social media babying him and I’m like…if yall watched the games live yall would know he’s the main problem along with Tepper
Sit him for the rest of the year work this summer and give him a quarter or two every game next preseason.
Sports analyst is the greatest gig. It's not a job bc all you need to spew is some common sense. But if you lack common sense fret not, look at Steven A or skip or Shannon sharp. Those fools have 0 sense but make millions spewing shit
I love the haters that sports commentators get 😂😂 people just mad that they get to do what they love and make money while doing it while the haters have to work their lame 9-5 job just to go home to their fat ugly wife’s 😂😂
Prayers for Steve Smith 🙏
I never understood why they were so high on him to be picked as #1 overall. He is so undersized.
they traded for him like a generational prospect smh
Young was never and never will be a NFL caliber franchise quarterback. College system qb who was surrounded by the best talent at every position and the best coaching. Nothing more.
Crazy choice of background Steve.
Looks like a damn obituary 😂
dont let this distract you from the fact Steve Smith sr and Luke K both publicly advocated for BY over CJ... Tepp listened to them
And Cam
Why though? What were they seeing?
@@haroldsfishingadventures754 they agreed he was a "master processor" and had S2 scores thru the roof
Coming to you live from heaven
This season Dan? Why? You can't always put a timeframe on it. Put him in when he's READY!
man, i just hope bryce finds some confidence again and is working on mechanics. not having to go 100% every week should ease his mind
He needs to be in the weight room like I implied back in week 4 of last season. He clearly has not been lifting, his bicep on his throwing arm may be punier than last year
Young sucks. The mistake Carolina made was drafting him. Stop acting like the panthers ruined him. The Panthers organization is trash but let’s not act like Young is good
You could put any QB in the league in this organization and they'd find a way to lose.
Gsme 1 Bryce QBR 12.4 . Game 2 QBR 6.4 . Dude needed to sit.
The problem is nobody will fit Carolina’s system. It is that bad!
Thank you steve
Why is Dan Patrick featuring everyone who thought Bryce Young should've gone #1 when he never should've? They were all as wrong as humanly possible. At least he also interviewed Sal Paolantonio. At least Sal accepted reality before Bryce was drafted.
Should he have been drafted #1 and what is his NFL future are 2 different convos but thanks for the insight
@@zachstolpa6521 He shouldn't have been drafted anywhere in Round 1 or even before Round 5.
@@traydevonjust say you don’t like young. It’s easier
@@zachstolpa6521 I’ve said what I think. He is not an NFL-caliber QB because he cannot physically compete against the largest, strongest, fastest athletes on the planet because he has no elite physical tools. How anyone FEELS about him is irrelevant.
@@traydevon he has the same prototypical build of a modern NFL QB, you’re just being absolutely pessimistic about young because of 2 bad games essentially. Give it a rest
I predict Dalton goes down and Brycie Pooh will be right back out there, lmao. Tepper is a curse upon the franchise. Some say he's tanking the team to get it moved. Honestly looking at things it's certainaly a possibility. He's doubled the value of the team since buying it so anyone saying he's losing money can kiss that notion goodbye
Bryce mad !!! Man you better look at the tape too jumpy in the pocket, go look at the scores the games he played 18 he missed 1, shut out two or three times in the pros unheard of it was a struggle to get 10 pts where the rules are catered towards the offense man have a seat oh he MAD MAD at who himself grow -up !!😢😢😢
They should've did that last season. Put him in the ocean his rookie year without a boat or raft.
Yes and get him a booster seat as hes on the bench..😢
Tepper made the call to draft Bryce. Tepper made the call to replace Bryce. Tepper will make the call this year to trade or cut Bryce.
Who actually thought he would be great in the nfl? HE AIN'T GOT NO ARM?!
Bryce Young is the biggest bust of all time!
Hallow be thy name
He was set up for failure
They need to bench the left tackle too!
Now that’s someone we need to start talking about as a BUST!!!
@@jefftrujillo9537 I think I heard on Sunday that Ekwonu allowed 11 sacks last year, most in the league. Blows my mind that he is still in the lineup. Goes to show you the disarray the Panthers are in. In the Panthers case, it doesn't matter who the QB is, without proper protection no one will be able to do anything. Darnold and Mayfield seem to be doing fine in a different place and scheme.
@@JDR-em1fw the crazy thing is the rest of the line this year is doing g good, they only allowed 4 pressures on Sunday but the glaring problem is icky and it suck’s because as a rookie he showed amazing performance but had regressed significantly
Sounds all good Steve but its not only Bryce's fault when he has no OL then team refuses to run and he has no one to throw too.. Coaches has no game plane. Wasn't the coach brought in to help young and he gave up on him in week 2? That saints team also stomp a mud hole in the Cowboys 😂
But didn't he go to Bama?
Dan I listened to two of your segments.. you are slipping. Benching sounds rough? LOL. And the last one you ran with last year's narrative your researchers need to tighten it up.
Give him one oc and stick w it
He's too short to see the whole field
Man dan is such a PC soft beta.
It was okay to say elway was benched but not bryce?!?!?!
How about all of the panthers QB’s the last 4 seasons are balling on other teams now😂😂 the problem isn’t Bryce. It’s the Owner!
Where's PJ playing?
I agree to a certain extent, I hope things work out for BY, he's a good kid
Trade him to the Jets!!!
Trade Young to Niners.
He needs a good tight end, I agree that he sucks and he has also has been mismanaged. Everyone saying he needs good wr's, I think his playing style would be better suited to a Gronk or Kelcey
1:50 THAT STARE! You feel me? You feel that math?
I honestly believe he’s not confident because they removed all the talent on offense, and has not sent any help. Very seldom can a QB transcend an entire roster based on arm talent. The guy needs help. Plus, look at all the QB’s they had there previously they failed miserably. Now are all thriving on different teams. There is something to be said about that as well.
This whole off-season they "sent help." They traded for a WR, drafted a WR, RB and TE, upgraded the o line and he looks worse.
They went out and drafted XLegette, a more athletic TE in Sanders, the best RB in the draft, got a good separating WR in Diontae Johnson, made the OLine better than what it has been in 2years and he's still lost/can't make plays. When you have cap room issues and dead money there's only but so much you can do. He has the help.
@@40EastTrill these are rookies you cant just expect them to produce right away when they have developed high pick or not.
@@finnessejets4231 Everyone else does. Why all of a sudden he's suppose to get special treatment?
@@40EastTrillits not special treatment. Its common sense. But you live in a microwave society so wouldn’t understand
so when dalton can't do anything with these "professionals" still Bryce's problem? young isn't a HOF QB and never was going to be but they have ruined this kid's confidence. this team and last years is 1976 Tampa bay terrible. starts and ends with owner, tepper
If Bryce is going to make it I believe he should step back and readjust himself. What bothered me is the fact he looked mentally lost. As if he's clueless about what he's supposed to do on a given play. It's faster than any level he's ever played and he needs to slow it all down.
if steve was playing he would be happy no WR wants to play with a QB that cant throw
Makes me wonder how Steve would’ve reacted to Bryce playing so bad if Steve was still playing. I wonder if he woulda had a soft spot for him or he woulda beat the shit outta him
@@ballinhunter12 Steve was ready to fight Cam. We know what he would've done 😂
I could only imagine🤣
