After starting to learn Japanese 2 weeks ago, today is the first day I understood about 95% of this podcast at normal speed 😄 I kept coming back to see how much I understand each time and it's finally starting to click! It's so helpful that you include the vocabulary at the end of the podcast, it helped me listen through then learn the vocab and then listen again with better comprehension. Thank you for making these episodes correspond with each Genki chapter!

This was really good practice! I started learning from Genki this week (also watching Tokini Andy's grammar explanations).
Today i finished working on lesson 1 and i was able to understand both the official Genki Readers for the lesson and this episode 😭 I'm so happy.
Thank you so much for this, Shun-sensei. Will definitely follow your other beginner podcast series after i'm done with Genki 1.

Thanks a lot for such a wonderful podcast which is actually for beginners! I am now at Genki 9 lesson, but decided to listen from the beginning. And there is one thing that I notice - everything is very nice and simple and understandable except for numbers. Every time I here a number ("I am 29") my brain just stops and says "no we haven't learned this", so I need to stop the video, repeat the number slowly and work out what does that mean. Like "ok, じゅう is ten... then there is いち... 10-1? aha, he must mean 11". Same is when I go to the supermarket and hear how much money I need to pay (I live in Okinawa). Is there any advice how to train the speed of numbers understanding?
