What a great video. Brings back memories. Done that route many times. I camped next to Styhead tarn with my mate Steven and his Nephew in his little Vango Force 10, an unbelievable 47 years ago (can't believe we fitted in).We got caught in an absolute downpour, a stream burst its bank and decided to flow under our tent. We packed up in the dark and walked down to Wasdale Head and rang his Dad to pick us up at 2 in the morning. Happy adventures.
Nice one Andy and Mrs Andy! Yeah, that's a great route up. Done the Wasdale route, Great End route, but by far the best route for me is from Brotherilkeld farm at the bottom of the Hardknot pass, up to Lingmell bridge and on to the Great Moss. So remote and gives Sca Fell Pike another perspective on the approach. Take a left up Little Narrow Cove , which is an absolute leg burner. On to the col, then a short pull up on to the summit. We wild camped at the base of Little Narrow Cove and were on the top at 07-30 all alone. Great route, try it sometime. Cheers,.
Suggestion - Take the track to the north of the stream from Taylor Gill Force for a closer view of the falls. It involves some easy scrambling but is much more interesting.
Best route , Been up from Seathwaite few times , once via the corridor route , which was great , dont like the scree slope coming back tho ! Nice film makes me want to get back up there , not been to the lakes for 6 years 👍
My fav way up and then i usually come down the corridor route. Did this in full firefighting kit and carrying breathing apparatus. It was a tough day, especially with american fire kit on which is very hefty. Love a circular hike.
Great route. We were thinking about going from Wast Water, east to Lingmell, over to Scafell Pike, then Scafell, and back. This looks amazing too. Would you have a OSM route of this?
Cracking route 👍🏻 how do you like the velocity backpack? I’ve got one in green, it’s awesome for day hikes, so comfortable and tons of features. Have you ever tried an overnighter with it? ⛺️🥾👍🏻
@@BackpackingUK yes, that would be better with a traditional plastic clip I reckon, although mine has never worked itself loose or unclipped itself so far.
@@BackpackingUK I think you should do I pole on the subject. I would like to see you say scar-fell one day. Coz I am right :) It’s like the good old one , Is it a muffin a bap or a barm or even a barm cake.
I pronounce it scar fell, locals are more scaw fell due to regional accent difference (I'm still pretty northern). I don't think anyone calls it scá fell (with a sharp a)

I think 99% of wild campers are very responsible for leave no trace. Unfortunately it's the 1% that spoils it for everyone else. Good video. 👍
Great video Andy, some awesome scenery.
Good to see Mrs Andy out withy you too ❤
A nice film and a great hike, well done, all the best. 👍👍👍
Great vid thanks for sharing , One of the best hikes ive ever done really enjoyed it fantastic views all the way.
A great video. Poor Laura looked exhausted. Thanks.
Great video. I'm planning to do this route next year. Thanks for the insight.

Fair play mate 😅
Wild camped by the side of styhead tarn last month and you’re not wrong; class spot for it!
Can u do that? Im planning on camping by the tarn?
@@teddycornwell6165 nothing stopping you man, just respect the spot and you’ll be golden

We did a similar route but in reverse. It’s nice to stay away from the tourist track as much as possible. Route here… strava.app.link/yJ3y2FYGnLb
I like the corridor route, but the best way for me is from Eskdale. Much quieter.
How long did that hike take you? A lovely video, thank you!
5h 10m 👍
Shame about the weather. Nice little video mate.
Start to explore Tatra Mountains in Poland & Slovakia 👍

I really like it, but I’m still not convinced about the hook and loop top closure.

Is that chest bag part of the ruck sack or a separate attachment you can buy?
Separate 👍
@@BackpackingUK Cheers mate wheres it from please? Thanks
Seems a good idea, thats why I like wearing smocks, big accessible kangaroo pocket on front. This is equivalent access for summer I suppose.
Tackling this next weekend, Is it safe for me to do on my own?
I’d say so, there are only a handful of tricky bits. It can get really cloudy up there so make sure you’ve got a GPS device to help you find your way!
Styhead Tarn gets far too busy for me. It’s sometimes like Oxford Circus on a weekend.
Superb guys, well done! 👏👏⛰🥾
Why do the two of you walk so far apart?
Because I’m creating content. The rest of the time we’re chatting together.
He smells.
@@BadgerBotherer1 Very much doubt that as in virtually every video showering and hygiene is mentioned.
Just a shame you couldn't see bugger all 😂
Say scar and then say fell, and you’ve pronounced scafell correctly 😊
It’s definitely not scar, the lakelanders will hunt you down if you pronounce it like that 😂
