  • In 2009, the Whiffenpoofs of Yale celebrated their centennial, and they did so in style. Hundreds of alumni came together to salute the unparalleled legacy of camaraderie, tradition, and musical excellence embodied by the Whiffs.
    This recording of "The Whiffenpoof Song" is assembled from performances and footage from their centennial activities. "The Whiffenpoof Song," the group's cherished signature, is recognized around the world from covers by Rudy Valee, Bing Crosby, Elvis Presley, Count Basie, Perry Como, Ray Conniff, Mitch Miller, the Ames Brothers, the Statler Brothers, and countless others.

    I used to belong to a barbershop chorus and our group sang this song from time to time. Loved the harmonies!

    A very special occasion. I just rescued my 100th Anniversary T-shirt from my wife's rag bin and took it to the cleaners to have the holes repaired!
