      Because people don’t do research, and there are some mall crawler youtubers that are calling it a “Daddy Raptor”. (I am sure there are some Ford Salespeople doing the same).
      It’s a great truck for the person that needs to tow, and get off road, or needs the space of a Super Duty for whatever activities they are engaged with.

      @@ferretsmiles first it comes second so yeah that's a competitor. No there is a point that no other car comes in to both aspects. Other company's stick to what they're good at. While Ford tries to find a perfect in between. But it was a no oh good enough to both aspects. It was more of a need of you can beat me in the others aspect. Meaning Paddy wagon can't beat a tremor and towing. And the differences is the way you put it, in reverse. Paddy wagon doesn't even come close. It's more like the good enough in towing. The GMC same thing an off road capability. I became a tremor fan because of what it can do. When I look for something I look for something that could do everything I needed to do if possible. I wanted to be good at what it can do if not the best. So you got a truck that's the second best off-road truck. You got a truck that's the second best towing truck. It's not the second best at those things because it can do both. It's the second best in both aspects respectively.

I would agree that a suspension, wheel, and tire setup like that would be an incredible from the factory but ballparking the cost of this build was probably around $15k which is a cost that most people couldn’t justify.

    • @CJCOffRoad
      @CJCOffRoad  4 роки тому +27

      That’s exactly what we were trying to disprove with this video. Everything that makes the Tremor worth buying is still intact, but the factory suspension that is barely different from a normal F-250 can be upgraded to achieve the performance that the truck is actually capable of off road.

    • @ALMX5DP
      @ALMX5DP 4 роки тому +6

      @@CJCOffRoad gotcha thank you. I guess I hadnt looked closely at what the Tremor package all includes. It's the only way to get the front LSD, trail/crawl control, has longer vent tubes for the axles, and of course the unique styling elements.

      @BradChadley 4 роки тому +8

      @@mattranum5231 it has longer breather tubes, a limited slip front diff, higher clearance bumpers, and trail/crawl control, plus the cosmetics. If you already plan to get different bumpers, a front locker, extend the breathing tubes, etc, then go with a normal F250. However, if you don't really want to do all of the above, the Tremor is outfitted pretty well and really only needs the improved suspension. If you don't plan on getting a front locker then the tremor package is worth it for the front LSD alone in my opinion.

    My buddy is a sales man for ram and ford. He explained the tremor vs powerwagon like this if you want a kick ass off roader buy the powerwagon. If you want a work truck/ a truck to tow your boat, toys, and RV, and still offroad then buy a tremor. Basically the tremor is a jack of all trades master of nothing.

    Tremor was never meant to match or outdo the Raptor. I remember the Raptor intro, 100mph runs off road in the desert, Tremor intro was rock crawling(55:1 Crawl) and towing/hauling both of which the Raptor can not do. Plus to have a better off road Tremor one should get the light weight 7.3 not the 6.7 thats in the video. For the $4k Tremor pack you get a bunch of off road software plus the small lift/33 inch water fording, the 55:1 crawl and 35 inch tires stock. The best thing about the Tremor is it starts at $53k and can be had for under $50k. If you want more, or just to go out and run with the sand rails one would be best to build a base 250.

    • @CJCOffRoad
      @CJCOffRoad  4 роки тому

      Or if you want the appearance, the performance and longevity of a diesel, and the added electronics and options offered in the Tremor, you get this truck and add a capable suspension system to it for more off road ability. Seems like a win win to us and the customer felt the same!

    • @caseyhisaw7380
      @caseyhisaw7380 4 роки тому +1

      mmm? longevity of diesel engines is a thing of the past considering all the emissions that are required on modern diesels. Well over double the maintenance cost. Only justification for a modern diesel truck is heavy towing performance which was almost eliminated with that progressive rear spring. You could literally buy 3+ 7.3l engines for the price of one Power stroke 6.7l replacement engine. Plus to do any major engine work to that Power stroke Diesel the cab has to come off the frame first which blows. Need I mention EGR cooler Problems, clogged particulate filters, DEF, Or shitty USA diesel that requires additives? Diesels and bitching aside, awesome video!

    This wasn’t created to be a raptor killer or power wagon killer. It’s a better overall package then the power wagon. They retained the towing capacity and payload. Neither of which the power wagon really has. And it’s not an appearance package. It has a front limited slip, not available on any other super duty.

    Ford will never do King shocks. I’ve mentioned it to all the guys that matter at Ford and it’s not an interest. They are just starting to embrace larger 35” tires. Being the owner of many trucks through the years with Carli Pintop’s, the best way to buy a Superduty is to get a Lariat, don’t buy the Tremor kit.... the ‘upgraded’ shocks are China made to Rancho specs and will be tossed in the trash, so will the wheels, .... buy the full Pintop kit which costs around $8500. The majority buyers of Carli kits have XLT trim...they don’t care about luxury, they only want ride quality.

    I just bought a Tremor and I really like your videos. They are very informative with no nonsense. I bought a F350 Tremor primarily for towing, but would really like to do some mild off-road stuff. Do the stock wheels and tires really look that bad with one of your kits? Do you recommend doing a more budget build than this if I'm not trying to do heavy off-road? Also I feel like I am the only person in the world that likes a raked look in a truck and doesn't care for leveling it. Especially when I go to haul something and the front end is sticking up. Is there a kit that doesn't lift or level the truck more than stock? I can't seem to find one. Is there a practically reason to level other than more clearance in the front? Either way, thank you very much for what you do!

    2:44 I'm not saying it's a bad thing (because I like there to be some rake even after lifting/level) but dude, the stance is exactly the same (or even less rake) then the Carli systems sometimes. It's weird because sometimes I'll see one of your decked out Carli trucks and there will be a lot of rake and other times, with the same system, there won't be much. One of the reasons I like the Carli rear options is they usually leave you with some rake.

    The Tremor is not a Raptor or Power Wagon competitor. It's a Super Duty meant for work with a 1 step upgrade from fx4 packages. Tires, wheels, appearance. This is a tow rig for towing your off road toys to the camp or a work truck. Smart move by Ford, looks and capabilities with locker in back and limited slip up front. I put 2-4k in payload and believe me it will level that truck. Want to go fast? Go to Carli.

      These leaf packs retain 85% capacity, but remember that Ford’s towing spec charts are a little misleading since they don’t account for trim package. Cody’s comment was that if you’re a guy that tows a boat or smaller trailer, you’re fine with these carli leaf packs. If you’re maxing out the truck, you need to stick with the factory leaf, or do a Cari add a pack.

  • @lightningguy4897
    @lightningguy4897 4 роки тому +1

    Tremor vs PW
    Tremor has better crawl ratio, towing capability, better approach, departure, and break over angle. better final drive ratio. Still has a rear diff lock like the PW. Front torsion locking front diff. 1 and 1/2 turns and it's locked. (Not as good as a tru front locker but still gets the job done). The only thing the PW has over it is an electronic unlocking sway bar... That almost never works on the PW. anyone that thought the tremor would compete with the raptor are the same idiots that think a Prius gets the best fuel milage. Go do some research before you call the tremor package an appearance package.

    how much lift did the truck actually get? tremors come with a factory lift already. any rear lift?

    • @CJCOffRoad
      @CJCOffRoad  4 роки тому

      It’s complicated since the new F-250 trucks now sit lower, so the Tremors sit at the old height essentially. The truck got the Carli 2.5” lift coils and full rear pack, which translates to a 2” front lift and 1” rear lift. On the standard 2020 F-250 that would be 3.5” of front lift and 1” of rear. The parts are the same from the 17+ trucks.
