Thanks for your kindness Ahmed, I'm very lucky to have you as a friend.
Wait I thought you two were enemies???
@@mlordd nah that’s Ethan lol
My first thought listening to him was me wondering why he suddenly sounds like he is trying to be you :D
Lovely Talk!

Hey why u stream in spanish? Engrish plesh.
@@aelion7761 That's a rude demand, man
@@AhmedAldoori I'm just joking, I just saw him stream in spanish once. :D

Hey Ahmed!

What kind of machine do you use (the one in the intro). I want to try a good machine for latte/espresso and would love a recommendation!

Funny enough despite being only 20 and from the "digital age", because I grew up in a rural part of India, my experiences are so similar with Ahmed. We didn't have high speed internet until 15, we used to roam around in the fields playing Cricket and badminton all day... I can not imagine what kind of a person I would be if there was internet while growing up.
Same
How I waited three years to watch this I'll never know, but what a treat for me today. This topic aged well.
What can I say your art is breathtaking also your voice.

@@AhmedAldoori look med, you can remain caught in the hurricane of poorly steamed milk or you can step outside of it into the light and ethereal cloudscape of truth. You control your path.

Love love loved this. I'm one of those digital age kids you talked about (I'm 21 just barely, so it's not as extreme as those that are really young right now and won't ever experience flip phones and landlines, only finding social media in middle/high school like I did) and I've been posting my art regularly on the internet since I was around 13-- up until summer of 2020, when that Pandemic Depression TM hit. I still use social media, but I stopped posting my own things. I've found that I'm so much kinder on myself and my art with that separation. I even recently found that seeing an artist's work whose art is gorgeous and drove me insane with jealousy through high school no longer brings that jealousy factor. Said artist totally deserves the praise they get, they've worked so hard for so long. But with them being the same age as me and having done professional things even before college, it just totally ruined their art for me for a long time. Taking my break-- drastically cutting down on social media usage as a whole, and not putting my own work into that whirlwind dome-- that step back really helped me. I do want to go back to posting eventually, but I'm rather content to stay chill in my own space for now and that's nice.
I'll definitely be visiting this video again in the future for this pep talk. Thank you for this.
NEW MEDCAST POGGERS!
This is such good advice
Oh man. This is great.
Just watched the Lightbox video where you and Sinix talk about personal art journeys, and the challenges of social media. Watching that and now this, I feel seen, honestly. The pressure to make art that’s “perfect” for social media so you’re not criticized is something I struggle with too. But it’s also lonely not sharing art at all. Idk. It’s a balance. A hard one, I guess.
Thanks for your insight. You make wonderful work.
Ty med. The video is perfect. I'll definitely recommend this to my artist friends.
A few weeks ago I deleted all social media apps from my phone, including tweeter, Instagram, reddit and youtube. Now, anytime I feel the urge to grab my phone for easy entertainment, I realise that I deleted literally anything that could be classified as entertainment and put it back down. Now, I check youtube and Instagram only when I am on my PC and don't spend more than 20-30 minutes a day on them. I feel so much more at peace now, thanks to You, Steven and Vsauce's latest video about time. Thank you for making these videos.
This is why I strongly believe in keeping a secret just for you sketch book
Love videos like these! Its so comforting to see that im not alone struggling with the things you talked about and the fact that its someone you look up to who talks about these things and kinda guides you through them is very uplifting
I haven’t checked my IG for more than a week now and it feels so satisfying... more satisfying than trying to satisfy people what they want to see...
Thanks Ahmed, I'm listening to this and I'm already feeling better than before, just changing this mindset and feeling more calm about the world of art around
amazing video!!!! listened to it while painting, occasionally looking up x awesome, thank you Ahmed
I love his channel because I share the same disposition. I mainly subscribed because of what he says at the end of every video 'thank you for drawing' it was simple but so effective for motivation. It was like a light went on. I've been leaving social media more and more just to focus on my own growth weirdly the idea came from a documentary on Francis Bacon. One of the people in it said he went away from 20 years and came back an artist' I didn't want to take it that extreme but it did get my wheels turning. My notifications have been off for about a year now and I feel more free. I dont hate social media but more of a complex relationship. Anyway love this talk and Steve. I'm glad your both on this platform.
well I thought this was like years old, so nice to be early for once
All that talk is good, but what really gave me relief was the grammar check at 13:50
Thanks for this Ahmed. Discover your channel was one of the best things that happened to me in these last days. I'm binge watching your stuff.
yo i been watching fit to fat to fit too this last week!!!!! such a cool show to go beyond the simple aspect of "hey diet and exercise and you can lose weight". I love it because a lot of the trainers make self-realizations that there's more to life than being shredded and how their relationships improve with friends and family when they're able to relax and let loose a bit with food and exercise. I try to channel what they go through with my own art journey like trying to be more disciplined etc. Great video as always!!
Hey man, every time I sit down and listen to and look at your stuff, I feel that you are my best friend besides me, just living the moment. It is so good that I feel like normal person, not searching for anything, just being in the here and now. I love you, as simple as that.
Woah, really needed this right now! Thanks
Holy fuck, what a refreshing perspective. I needed that. My art needed that. Thank you brother!
cheers brother
this was so important to hear.. thank you Ahmed!!
thanks ahmed this video was great
I needed this video. Steven is super great to listen to and Duff is a staple too
I love your videos so much! You are not only an artist but also like a spiritual guide? haha! I just find your videos so calming and inspiring. Needless to say your tutorials are awesome, too! Anyway, I love your work and hope you never stop making videos!
Thank you so much for this video
What a great video.
This video brought me a really unexpected sense of catharsis. I didn't realise how much I'd been lugging around. I cried a quarter of the way through but I feel much more inspired and in control now. :) I love your character designs so much. One large burrito please
Great video! Brought back my early childhood memories of spending days in the park over staying inside. How things have changed.. looking forward to your next post thankyou!
If you guys liked this longer form video where he's just drawing to music then go to his gumroad. He's got like 2 and 3 hour painting and drawing videos over there. 10/10
Thanks sullivan! May good fortune fall upon you this day
Only 7 and a half minutes in so far and I'm digging the topic. Very chill and I totally agree. I've been taking measures walking away from social medias more. It's relaxing :D.
If you're stuck for something to draw/paint, I would recommend master copies but only using a hard round brush - so no transparency, no rubbing out and no colour picking.
It's not easy but oh so satisfying when they start to resolve.
I've done over a hundred this current lockdown and I've always got one on the go in case I don't feel like doing some other type of painting or drawing.
thank you for blessing my eyes
Hey man thank you for this talk. And the calming vibe of the video in generall. Its really helpful. I appreciate that you are here to spread the love for art and creativity however you can.
Ahmed this is the best video that you ever made. Thanks
Wow, thanks!
I feel like this video reached deep down inside me and touched my soul. I'm so happy to hear you initiating this conversation. Life is long, social media is noisy and most of us won't be rockstars, but that doesn't mean there isn't space in the world for all of us to carve out what we need and create happily.
Both you and Steve have been very helpful to me as of late. Thanks your work and your videos.
Oh stapp it ❤️
thank you so much you keep me going
I really appreciate it when people share their honest opinion on stuff like this, makes me feel like I'm not the only person thinking this. Always enjoying your content, stay at it!
ahhh yes I miss these
I loved the video theme, and it was quite relaxing to watch it.
This was super enjoyable
Damn... I regret not listening to this a month ago. Feels like everything you say here hits the mark. I'm doodling along and for the first time in months it feels OK, instead of putting myself down for drawing mindlessly and not learning
I see Jordan Peterson's influence on you. He really helped a lot of us sort our lives out and stop us from running behind expedient pleasure.
Thank you for being real Ahmed!
Seriously love this talk and your perspective on the art world. What are the chances you one day go on Dr.Ks stream to talk about some of this stuff?
Oh dang that would be awesome - I'll have to look into how to do that
Beatiful cast, almost poetry. Thank you Ahmed
This is one of those amazing videos I would recommend to even my non- artist friends. You are really a blessing Ahmed🥰
Thank you !! You make this process for me less stressful 😃
I've been feeling quite ill all morning and afternoon and this was so relaxing :) good message in this video
woah that latte looks amazing!
Always a pleasure watching your vids! Thanks for the advice... Really hit home
I will admit that instead of drawing I just juggle some balls while listening to your podcast. Really helps me to get into a mindful state to just listen.
Nice intro.
Med, youre awesome, thank you for these amazing videos ❤

Love these chill sessions! Also subbed to Steven's channel you guys are freaking awesome
thank you i really needed this today
and happy belated birthday
Could you do a video abt TOOL (lateralus) and the creative process and Coming up with ideas?
MAYBE :)
If it sounds like an insult
it's either an insult
or a compliment to another artist
YOU PLAY BLOODBORNE? We are best friends now
Yeah I'm very new to it! Today I died to Gascoine final form like 8 times :(
@@AhmedAldoori Right on! Don't give up! He is a brick wall for all new players, but when you finally beat him you'll feel like you can take on anything. My advice is to be agressive in his third phase, if you try to run away he'll punish you harder. Man, I wish I could play BB for the first time again, it's still my fav From title. Good luck! A Hunter is never alone.
Oh heck yeah! Thanks for the tip, fellow hunter
So cool to see how alive Bloodborne's community is to this day. What a masterpiece of a game.
always enjoy your videos man... keep them comming :D
I really needed this
Learn to learn on your own, that's intresting to me. 👍
Funny, you started your work out journey, i started my art journey. Good luck to us both =)
love it
Thank you so much for this video. I can fully understand what you mean and I agree with you. I actually grew up playing outside just like you (I'm about your age) and see huge differenc to kids nowadays. Don't let the fast modern society stop you, I also do my best, even if I often catch myself with the current "trends" putting me under pressure. ;P
I have a little question about your art: What resolution do you mostly use or how big is the canvas and is it possible to transfer your brushes in Procreate or to recreate them?
Thanks a lot, I am so happy to have discovered you :)
Mmm a fresh video 🤩😁
thanks Ahmed
love you talk
that robot tho. imagine getting sued by birb for copyrights. lol
Is this what kids call asmr these days ? Oofé so relaxing
This is better ☺️

Yor art is incredibly spectacular!! Regret! I found yo channel so late!..

This video came at the perfect moment - I get so worked up to comparing myself to other people on the social medias sometimes that I forget why I liked drawing in the first place. Thanks for the reminder, Ahmed! Lovely stuff as always!
Also, where did you get that music at the end? It's a great change of pace from what I usually listen to and would love to find more like it.
Oh - thanks! If you check out my reference wednesdays videos, all the same songs are listed in the description

your comments on twitter make me think of some cyborg twitter sentinel with a bird head xD
I would like to see you drawing with pencil and paper

Here for the coffee porn at the beginning 😂😂 just kidding - your art and videos are rad as always 💕
