Just keep trying! It was the first "difficult" trick I learned (way back in 1991). I never thought I'd get it, but when I did, it became easy. And it helped me move on to tre flips, which I also thought I'd never learn. Like Lee said, it's just a matter of building muscle memory.
I find this trick to be easier to just try it every now and again. It's not one to be trying to hours a day. If you can do 3 flips then you can do this trick. Like lee said it's all in the scoop. I find to get your foot out of the way, put your front foot over the (regular) left or (goofy) right front bolt. When you scoop just pick that front foot up and the board will meet the front foot on its way. Hope this helped for anyone who's trying to learn this trick. Don't get discouraged, it's not an easy one
I honestly must say, if you know what a pressure flip is, its a lot like that. Anyhow, thanks for the super-broke down tut... well explained. Again, must say its got a pressure flip typa-feel.
i thought so too, but after trying different shit i eventually got them and the biggest tip that helped me is that when scooping, try to hold your foot on the "floor" for a longer time i.e dont scoop instantly
Hi Lee, any advice on how to avoid avoid pressure flips when doing ollie impossible? The problem is that when I put my back foot in the pocket and wrap my foot around it ends up making 360 rotation alright, but it also double pressure flips... Am I putting too much pressure on the pocket, what do you think?
I find no comply impossibles easier, so you might want to try that if you're having difficulity. Having said that some people find the no comply harder...
Back in the day I was one of the only ones in my town who could do these, and there were guys much, much, better than me, and I still cannot land basic flip tricks (e.g. varial heels, inward heels, etc). The point is that some guys can get impossibles, some guys can't, just like pressure flips; don't loose sleep over them. I learned them on the 90 degree corners of the guard rails of a quarter pipe. Hold yourself up on the rails, ollie on the ramp deck, and it's pretty easy.
I land impossibles maybe half the time, but I swear, I'm always leaning forward towards the nose too much. So sometimes I slip out or stop dead. Leaning back is easier said than done, because then the board flies out before it wraps.
it's all in the back foot kinda easy one of my first tricks when I started skating as your body is going up back foot scooping when your front wheels are of the ground try to have your front foot very light good luck
When I was younger Ollie impossible was seen as the hardest trick to do. But it was supposed to go directly up. These are obviously much closer to a 360 shove it than a real old school impossible.
yo man, all you gata do is get the FLIP feeling man, and u will c... E Z , plus the more you do tricks in a month or 2 u could learn impossibles, comfortably :)
Just a tip for everyone who's learning the impossible I would recommend learning the "strawberry milkshake" it's the same thing as the impossible but with your front foot placed on the ground. It's much more easier and you can learn it at any level
I love this guy's attitude
+ImTooAbstract energetic stoner?
Im here to learn impossible for dylan
Beau Real same buddy same
Same bro 👊
I like this guys bag of tricks wallrides, late shuvs, back threes and impossibles

I wish Dylan Rieder made an impossible trick tip :(
Even if the impossible god Dylan made a trick tip, I still wouldn't be able to do impossibles. :(
Tony Nguyen Too bad that day will never come.
He made an ad for Gravis and it’s in slow motion so it’s easier to pick up on what he does.
perfect execution, probably best olli impossible trick tip video out there
Perfectly explained from an awesome skater. Thanks Lee!
Lee is the best trick-tip teacher in my opinion.
INSTRUCTIONS NOT CLEAR ENOUGH, LANDED AN OLLIE POSSIBLE
the fuck
+TheCreepiestPasta fucking Minecraft players man... Speds.

this video really helped me learn how to impossible. thanks!
RIP Dylan Rieder.
I honestly must say, if you know what a pressure flip is, its a lot like that. Anyhow, thanks for the super-broke down tut... well explained. Again, must say its got a pressure flip typa-feel.
BaSs not at all ,pressure flips look like a hardflip and impossibles wrap around your foot . I don't know to me they don't look a like.
Freddy Medina you obviously havent skated for long and your reply proves your stupidity
I think you're right. In both cases you put mad pressure on the toe side to get the board sideways.
lee thank you for teaching me a new trick
1:47 probably the nicest flat ground impossible i've ever seen
I just learned them second try!
w
i thought so too, but after trying different shit i eventually got them and the biggest tip that helped me is that when scooping, try to hold your foot on the "floor" for a longer time i.e dont scoop instantly
youve given me the vision thank you
My name is Lee and I like to party
Lee was one of the first skaters I liked,, and now I've come to find out hes chill as fuck. das wassup.
Lee's got badass looking impossibles
A real Impossible right here
he kinda looks like a male sandra bullock
lol. what a compliment.

think this everytime i see anything with lee
Rieder needs to be doing this trick tip...
One extra trick for it is to do first a pressure Flip and then introduce the rotation! I've used to dot it like this and now I simply do it easely.
I find no comply impossibles easier, so you might want to try that if you're having difficulity. Having said that some people find the no comply harder...
You guys should do a guide on how to Kickflip-Underflip
niiice.i should go try that
its all about going out and trying them man
Been 10 years since i saw this video im gonna learn it tmr
there so easy to form I can almost land them but my back foot catches it on the front bolts any tips?
Ed Templeton's the king of impossibles!
I watched this video before learn impossible, now I can a decent one
Awesome! Landed it in 3 hours.
haven't been skateboarding for 10-11 years now but still love videos like these.
lee thankyou
love thus trick only landed it once though. i gotta focus on landing my front foot on the bolts.
this dude steezy
Imma go outside and try to learn them right now lol btw this looks like it was filmed in jersey
FINALLY!!!!
I've watched 10+ vids on impossibles and I've come to the conclusion that I will never land one.
Thanks I almost got them every try

and i am berat, nice to meet you

Awesome 3 shove
Is this actually a hard trick, really want to learn it. Note, I'm relatively new to skating. I can do a few flip tricks
it's all in the back foot kinda easy one of my first tricks when I started skating as your body is going up back foot scooping when your front wheels are of the ground try to have your front foot very light good luck
Thanks for the advice
+LoneWolf your welcome
nice
thing with these trick tips is pro ollies/ scoops are 3 feet off the ground. these tricks happen a lot faster generally
This guy is awsome! he looks like Bill Hader!
cool guy
when I try I just end up flinging the board 10ft into the air
SAMEEEE
Drunk skateboarding rarely ends well.
For once I want to see a proper Impossible. Every video I've seen just looks like a 360 shuv.
+Goggalor1990 Actually the first one he does is a really good one.
this must be the hardest trick to get right, so few can get it to look good
When I was younger Ollie impossible was seen as the hardest trick to do. But it was supposed to go directly up. These are obviously much closer to a 360 shove it than a real old school impossible.
Now to learn no-comply impossible x3
Dylan Rieder has the best impossible
I remember I almost landed one of these trying to pop my 3 Shuv a bit higher and now I'm trying to get the real thing 😂
is this easier than a kickflip it looks so
The more you point you back foot's toe down, the more the board will spin horizontally instead of vertically.
my impossibles always go vertical...any tips on how to make it more flattened out?
bro tahts a good thing
they should just do tricktips with Lee Yankou, hes a skateboard professor
because the other impossible is a no comply, you take a foot off and put it on the ground
man they aint ral hard but u gotta keep workin at em an ull get it i did :)
David Gonzales or Rodney Mullen for this tip
what's the difference between this and 360 shuv?
Sammy Boy back foot stays on
One wraps around your foot. If you can't do one or the other, and if you do it clean you can pass it off.
My front foot keeps getting in the way is it because I put a majority of my weight on my front foot?
Tyler K. Jump higher and get your front foot out the way, it's all in the back foot
Its all scoop..?
I do impossibles exactly like on the tony hawk games, simply because it's a habit but they look better
So, an impossible is really a 360 shuvit but more through your legs?
no its wraps around your foot in vertical way
no the board has to wrap , like it was doing a backflip
doble varial...
r u mykel jackzun
How can I get used to not putting my front foot on the ground?
Noah Pena cut it off
Just practice and commit. Bend it up aswell
i did it first try
why isnt dylan rieder doing this tutorial ...?
I can do the rotation perfectly one foot. but when I try it using both feet my brain says 360 shuvit and it’s always like wtf
feb 2021:)
yo man, all you gata do is get the FLIP feeling man, and u will c... E Z , plus the more you do tricks in a month or 2 u could learn impossibles, comfortably :)
Looks so much like Dave from hot rod
This is a tricky one..
i kept trying to no comply and I kept getting the first step now im here
Just a tip for everyone who's learning the impossible I would recommend learning the "strawberry milkshake" it's the same thing as the impossible but with your front foot placed on the ground. It's much more easier and you can learn it at any level
PACMAN AKA PACCY Bond that trick is so stupid imo
rest in peace dylan
Yesterday i learned a impossible late flip revert by accident
backside 360 shuv it.
ol´planko wood!
Nice impossible.
damn i will never be able to do this trick for my shins are't nice or strong
i got impossibles, i need 360 shuv its!!
How about Rodney Mullen?
Its easy for me...Now I have 6 tricks
should have got Dylan Reider to do this trick tip
focus on keeping your foot against the board the whole time so the board can't flip
I can't do these, just learned front foot impossible, but this is alot worse lol.
Haha thats what an impossible is? Wtf?! Ive been those this whole time, i just never had a name for them.
Bill Hader? You look and sound exactly like him.
soon as i heard i might be getting hit in the shins, i gave up
