    Extra fuel tanks on flame tanks are a good idea. That stat doesn't drop, and extra fuel is quite nice.

      I usually also throw in a dozer blade on flame tanks and light tanks.
      So once I switch to mediums/heavies/moderns I can use light tank recon and flame tank companies for extra fuel and entrenchment. Keep in mind you can mount several extra fuel tanks, not just one.

      @@kidsrock91 The Churchill variant tank the 'Crocodile' had an attached trailer filled with fuel. Doesn't translate to HOI4 both because trailers aren't exactly the same as hard-attached fuel barrels and because the Crocodile retained the Churchill's 75mm cannon, which cannot be done in HOI4.
      Besides adding fuel tanks and dozer blades on your Medium Flame Tanks, it's worth noting that for the same reason Feedback mentioned in the middle of the video, it's most correct to let the reliability drop, even as low as 0%, because flame tanks always come in something like 15 tanks for the support company, which on the chart he mentions indicates that the minimum needed reliability is something like 0%. I've always found it's hard to push it under 30-40%, if even that. Thus, his brief remark about Easy Maintenance being a good choice is incorrect, specifically for flame tanks.
      I will say that, while in general the inter-war tanks are better flamers for cost, a late war Mobile Division (12+ km/h) might demand a later model of Light Tank (later models have higher base speed) if you don't bother researching the engine techs beyond a level or two. Usually this means you should research those techs, but you could argue that Snowballing + Only 15 tanks/division + Tank Conversion (you're not making a mobile warfare division without Light Tanks, are you?) as compared with 40-80 days of research to catch up on balances it out. But! That's only if you really really care about dumping some extra production on fuel tanks, which reduce your speed considerably. Those fuel tanks can help specifically with mobile divisions, though. However, the window of time where this is both a worthwhile tradeoff _and_ you're not already winning the game is... narrow, but the game progresses in interesting ways, sometimes, no? Ah, whatever, it came up once in one of my games, that's all I know. Ended up doing the research anyway, too. Oh well.

      ​@@PeterBarnes2I don't mind do 5km/h tank division. I preferred go slowly but dont be without fuel. Or supply, the attrition is heavy. Well, I just play in Elite mode, where the attrition is responsible for the majority of the losses.

    I really like the radio 1. Because you can make a refit version of the tank when you have radio 3 and very quickly convert all tanks to have the good radio.

    Id say breakthrough is one of the most important stats for tanks and an extra 10% for basically free is always gonna be worth it imo

    You forgot to mention that one of the biggest advantages of mechanised is the terrain bonuses it gives over motorised

      mechanised has worse terrain PENALTIES than motorised, are you thinking of amphibious tractors which have river and amphibious modifiers

      I always do that and also add them to my infantry. They only cost like 6 and give you pretty nice boni in forests which is pretty common terrain in Barb. I only need to put 6 factories on them to keep my stockpile in the green.

    The plane of 10:00 does not have any air defense, meaning it will get shot down in masses when anybody contests it.
    Great for uncontested air space, but how often does that really happen.
    Quick fix with the dive breaks

    Minelaying destroyers actually work really good with anti-air, because they're not that easy for naval bombers to sink (unlike subs), and if you have them mining in enemy territory on "do not engage", they are generally too fast for the enemy fleet to catch them, while taking down a fair amount of planes in the process of mining said territory. It's kind of a no-brainer, actually. You just take a couple of destroyers in to refit at the start of the game and put AA and mining gear on them, and then they just stay alive somehow... almost indefinitely.
    This strategy is especially good for minor nations that want to compete in the naval game, because of the speed penalty for enemy ships: 80% reduced speed means YOU get to choose when to engage and when to retreat, so you can pick off a superior fleet in smaller chunks. Once upon a time, i whittled down the royal navy as greece so much, that the germany AI spontaneously decided to sealion and capitulate UK, as the brits no longer had naval supremacy. I was able to do this with a navy a 10th of the size of britain's total precisely because i was able to pick them off in smaller groups or shorter engagements.

    The plane of 2:10 doesn't have enough trust to take off on close air support missions, because it is way too heavy.

    I recently tried to... yea tried you know already where it went, tried to go pure German heavy tanks. I made a heavy tank with cast armor, a close support gun, wet shell storage I think its called, and that one suspension that boosts reliability, plus 2x fuel tanks to boost how long it can operate in low supply regions. I then stacked everything into engine power and had a heavy tank with like 50 armor, going the same speed as motorized... the fuel tanks did not matter cause as soon as they invaded Belgium supply went into red and the whole thing turned into WWI. There is somthing so cursed about lighting fast heavy tanks. I made the tank use the grosstraktor model as well.

      Yeah, I’ve found that heavy tanks are really not that necessary in SP unless you’re playing until like 1946 (use modern at that point) and the AI has spammed out so many divisions that you just really need the soft attack from the heavy howitzers to do enough to completely break a tile

      Heavy tanks are largely for stacking armor on squishy divisions to make space marines imo. Due to the nature of armor you get minimum 40% of one tank battalion for the whole division, so stacking it on a large division even if the tanks are expensive can make sense. Otherwise past medium tanks you end up with a very expensive tank that has way more armour than necessary, can't attack into anything but flat terrain for the most part and uses up obscene amounts of supply

      I dont really like to make space marines, it feels really cheap and cheesy to put just one heavy tank brigade in a division just for armor. I atleast like to have 3. and tbh two heavy spgs and a heavy aa in a division made for assaulting will make a very powerful force. I dont know if the doctrine still works the same after AAT... hey the abbreviation is a starwars tank, lolz... anyway after AAT I don't know if superior firepower still boost support tanks like spgs. AA, and tank destroyers, but it use to and it made it even more powerful.

      @atomicLord97 then put in a super tank. That's basically the only way to effectively use them because otherwise they're extremely supply heavy, slow, and have terrible stats fighting in anything but plains

    Heh AI actually whule having absurd abudancy of rescourses can make a lot semi-good armored division. At least good for dealing with inf. Me and my brother found ourselves difficulties fighting 1.4k factories whole Europe owning Germany.

    simple question...
    talking in 'light tank' only, do you prefer, (vanilla game)
    as light tank with 39 soft attack and 25.8 breakthrough (80% hardness),
    or as light tank artillery with 75 soft attack and 11.3 breakthrough (50% hardness)?
    soft attack or breakthrough are better? why?

    That minelayer has some issues. Never use dual purpose light guns. They add +1 steel per gun, per dockyard. If its job is minelaying, why spend IC on fire control systems if there is no real gun damage?
    That one hybrid fighter/cas was dog water. It has 12 air attack, meaning it cannot shoot 16 air defense fighters (Basic frame + self sealing). It can only kill starting planes. Adding dive breaks gives air defense while on cas missions so why add a self sealing fuel tank? Now you have no range because you lack drop tanks. 650km is too short. Hybrid planes dont work, they will always be outclassed by dedicated cas or fighters. Now you have a low air attack, low cas damage and low range plane.
    Mech 1 moves at 8km/h, mech 2 at 10 and mech 3 at 12. So making early medium tanks that go over 8km/h is wasted.
    I would like to see more ship and non standard role tank designs. Things with fixed structures and other memes.
