APPROVED BY MJ HIMSELF!! So many examples of HOMAGES to the king of pop, this song is a banger and the video is absolutely incredible always puts a smile on my face!!
Yes brother plus he actually loved it and his family had them play at MJs tribute concert...the little kid is dancing in front of MJs childhood home as well...super homage to MJ and his videos.
They are definitely not a one hit wonder. Of course that is obvious, or easy, for the fans of the band to say. But they have some great songs outside of this one for sure.
They actually got into a really wicked crash on tour and one person died and the band members got some pretty serious injuries and thats kinda why they just vanished-and seemed like a one hit wonder. They are back on the grind though and in good health now. But this song (and movies) are still bangers. And the MJ references in this video are on point! even MJ said he liked it
Like a year after they crashed an awards show for a music video so I wouldn’t exactly blame it on the crash more that they couldn’t write as well as michael, imo movies, universe, death day, stranded and attitude being the only songs that were better (and games galore, echo park, denigrate and star side pride but they never decided to release those on proper albums some being on eps and some being on their greatest hits album they produced themselves)
Wow sorry to hear I really liked them. This song reminds me of this girl I used to hang out with she showed me the video when it came out. A cool time and I think this song still sounds great and I liked Movies too
I grew up on MJ, and this is one of my favorite songs of his. I always thought they did a great cover!! They turned up the rock, without wrecking the song. And they paid homage to MJ and the original, in the song and the video, which shows great respect. They really killed it and I loved it right away when it came out!!🤘🤘🤘
The drummer was wearing a bevis and butthead shirt. Best cartoon ever made! There was also a Wayne's world reference. I love videos love this. It's like a where's Waldo Easter egg hunt.
Mike (the drummer) is the sweetest guy on the planet. When AAF was on MTV Cribs, he showed off the house he bought for his grandma. The other day they played a show in Texas that my momma went to. My dad recently died, so she was by herself. I sent Mike a message to tell him she was there alone, and he went out to keep her company. He’s seriously just the greatest guy.
The bass players uncle was an associate of Michael Jackson. They recorded the song and the uncle played it for Michael. He loved it. And he gave them carte blanche to do whatever they wanted for the video. Another awesome A.A.F. song is “At The Movies”
Lots of things can be said about MJ. Among them is his generosity with bands and groups doing covers or parodies of his music. Weird Al might not have had the career he's had if MJ had been as humorless as Prince was. So long as you could cover or parody a song well, MJ would give you a shot.
Yes a common dummy used in car classes back then was called Rescue Annie... and you'd start off doing cpr by saying the line ANNIE ARE YOU OK.. he even talks about resuscitating annie in the song
Those dolls are creepy. They're based on a real cadaver that was found drowned who couldn't be identified. So the face they use is from her death mask.
When they worked together in the 80's, Paul Mc was giving young MJ some financial advice about the virtues of buying publishing rights. Then he bought the Beatles catalog. Paul was freaking pissed.
These guys are fun to watch live. Saw them a few times with bands like Hed PE before this album. Once after. The dancing they do in this video is part of their show. Very animated band.
If I remember right, the MJ version of this song used a synth beat based on his own heartbeat. I'm not sure about the song was being inspired by a CPR doll, but it's possible. Can't deny his talent. If you enjoyed this video, check out the one for the track Movies. It's pretty cool and makes references to some 80s and 90s films. You guys rock.
I saw these dudes live in a small venue (900 capacity) and they freaking killed it. This song, their song "The Movies" and a couple more were just totally awesome! They played a one song encore and that song was a metal version of "The Muppet Babies" theme song that rocked hard for like twelve minutes. I only went to this show because my then teenaged daughter wanted to go and no B.S. it was one of the absolute best small venue shows I've ever seen! Check out their song, "The Movies".
"Annie! Annie! Are you ok?" I don't know if that's still standard in CPR training, but back when I first learned CPR back in the 90s, that is how you would start when you came up to the practice doll.
Yo-yo fellows that brought back memories good stuff and yes they are one hit wonder in my book. Also you guys are great to watch not fake like some other channels. Thanks for the laughs.
Hey guy's, this is another legendary country music artist "Merle Haggard - Mama's Hungry Eyes (Video 1969)" There's a very interesting story about Merle Haggard, he was one of country music's most famous former convicts, though most of his crimes were petty. The reason he landed in the notorious San Quintin Prison was due to how many times he escaped from smaller facilities and local jails, but It's been said he escaped 17 times. There are many astounding numbers and statistics that accompany the legacy of country music legend Merle Haggard. There are his 38 #1 Hits, there's his 50-plus year career and there are the 66 studio albums recorded, and the millions of records sold. But the one Merle Haggard statistic that perhaps intrigues people the most, is that before his career took off, Haggard was rumored to have escaped from jail 17 times during his troubled youth growing up near Bakersfield, California. And while serving his time in San Quintin he saw Johnny Cash, where Cash played his first ever prison concert on Jan. 1, 1958-- A concert that help set Merle Haggard, then a 20yr. old San Quintin inmate, on a path to becoming a country music legend. The two were life-long friends...isn't that Amazing!?
This is one of those songs which i call a feel good song, doesnt matter what type of music you are into or what type of day you had..........if this comes on the radio then you cannot help jigging around to it and singing along. i listen to cradle of filth daily yet i love this song. well done guys, great reaction
These guys actually played at Michael Jackson's funeral asked their by the family and played at the memorial ceremony. They were actually one of his favorite bands. There was video on here at onetime.
Fun guys! Bloody brilliant. Some Hot Action Cop next? "Fever for the Flava"?.... Always used to play these two back to back! Yes, in Australia the CPR/EAR (mouth-to-mouth) training figures are called Mannequin Annie - My mother was a Divisional Superintendant for St Johns Ambulance and I grew up with Annie always in the house!
Haha we made a time capsule when I was in elementary school… they built an addition to the school and a parking lot over it 🤷🏻♀️😆 Guaranteed my 14 year old niece does not know this song. She may have heard it in dance class or something but I’d be surprised if she knew it
My 4yr old knows this version and MJ's. My mom played a lot of his music when I was growing up. Plus a bunch of funk bands. It was funny ya'll said to sing the first few lyrics and see if they knew the rest. We do this all the time!
I forgot all the little MJ references here. I like the lit up sidewalk homage to “Billie Jean”. I saw those dudes on the lawn and thought they looked like King of the Hill, so I appreciated you backtracking the video and saying the same thing I was thinking.
They sent video MJ and he wasn't keen with the kid wearing the mask..they re-shot the video without the mask, sent it out again and MJ got back to them saying he prefers it with the mask
Not a one hit wonder, Smokey! They had a bunch of good songs with great videos: Movies, Glow, and These Days. Their albums ANThology and truANT were pretty successful, but then they kinda disappeared.
Maaaan I still be jamming to this song today!! 🤣🤣 these dudes definitely a one hit wonder tho. I listened to the album this came off of and no means to offend but not much else to hear
Alien Ant Farm had a song that came out a couple years ago that was really good called Everything She Wants. Also, three song suggestions- RHCP-WALKABOUT, Frogleap Studios - Feel Good Inc., and Blues Traveler - Crash and Burn
I think Michael Jackson was a bit of a lyrical genius. Cause if you go back and listen to all of his music and pay attention to the lyrics he had a lot of songs with a strong message. I remember liking this version of the song.
I really enjoyed this different but so fun that driving beat!!! I write to rhythm then melody neck and neck rhythm and melody melody and rhythm whichever moves pen to paper! Loved it!😊🎸☀️🌵🐬❤️🙏
Probably one of the best covers if a song I've ever heard tbh. AAT were new at the time and they came out with this, and it keeps all the elements of what made the original great, and they use some comedy in it, but it's all in homage if MJ so no (mocking crap that M&M did).
AAF was in a nasty bus crash in Europe. Driver died, lead singer broke his neck, the others broke bones… so they just dropped out of the scene for a while.
🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺 I love how every single scene is a Michael Jackson reference🐾 Either towards him personally or his music and videos. Alien Ant Farm did an amazing job with this vid. And beautifully respectful as well💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘
Just watched your "Walk This Way' video with Aerosmith/ Run DMC. I heard you talking about the roots of Hip Hop/Rap and how it went main stream. I suggest you take a look at Blondie's "Rapture". It was before Run/DMC. It had a big influence on the main stream getting to hear these genres. It was my first intro to Rap and Hip Hop.
i REALLY recommend chris cornell's cover of billie jean. i honestly think its better than the original, in my opinion. he did such a good job on it. you wont be disappointed
Always nice to see a good reaction of yours! I'm late a bit to the party, but i can explain why the singer creeps you out a bit on how he walk. The singer actually had an accident and is missing a leg. If you look closely, at one of the ending scene there where he lift up his pants sleeves, you can see his prostetic leg. So yeah, that's the reason he ain't dancing that good or why he's moving stiff a bit :P
They have a really cool song called “homage”. That is a cool song I feel y’all would enjoy. I also really enjoyed the album “Anthology”. Songs like “courage” which y’all reacted to and enjoyed, “Movies” probably the biggest single of the album besides this. But overall whole album is a solid one front to back. All songs are very enjoyable.
Not long after making this, which was 3 months after MJs death, the lead singer was in a serious car accident and I think broke his back or pelvis. He was in quite a serious condition. But they are out there still touring and making stuff nowadays.
They had a few tunes before this . The drummer is good friends with MJ's drummer and they asked. MJ really liked this version of his song. The CPR doll story is true. 'Resusci Annie'. During his CPR class, he had to ask Annie if she's OK. He thought it sounded cool. Crazy story.
Hey guys🤘🏼💚🌻 I’m a new sub, been having so much fun catching up on your videos, y’all are adorable! I’m mainly a metalhead and your metal reactions have been killer, but what I’m most grateful for is that you guys react to Tori Amos! She is the OG bad ass and I love that you guys love her, takes talent to recognize talent! Among her hundreds and hundreds of songs are really great covers. Do yourselves a favor and at least once in your life check out Tori Amos goes piano shopping, watch her play two pianos at once which isn’t hard to find she does it everywhere she goes, and check out her covers of Led Zeppelin’s Thank You and the Rolling Stones Angie they’re so beautiful! And for fun, watch her do just about anything live. She has a reputation for being one of the best live performers ever, and the four times I’ve seen her I can tell you that it’s true lol between her and metallica I could never pick a favorite live show but they’re both right up there! and then, there is a compilation out there of her going off and it’s just really great! Tori loves the F word just about as much as I do, and she has no problem telling shitty security guards or shitty fans to behave! She’ll stop mid song to set shit straight, even herself, if she messes up in the middle of a cover or something she cusses herself out and then goes right back to it 😎 … and just to give you direction so you’re not looking for a needle in a haystack I’ll give you these examples… on the beekeeper tour when she covers Cyndi Lauper‘s ‘all through the night’ which is gorgeous by the way she messes up cusses herself out and then goes on…it’s hilarious. And then listen to her song ‘the waitress’ studio version, and then live, you’ll see how she covers herself and twists up the songs for her fans it’s really bad ass. And of course, her claim to fame, the raw and powerful Me And A Gun…speaks for itself. Thanks for what you guys are doing and making our days a little bit brighter!✌✨
love you guys and I got that same Nirvana shirt but in grey. Ok, rumor has it that the bass player, did all the high notes, of AAF was a friend of MJ's producer (or someone else that had direct ties \influence on MJ) He set up a meeting and MJ signed off on the video and song. Also, the song and video were made before UA-cam was a thing. So the upload year and the actual release year are different. It was released with MJ's permissions before he died.
MJ’s halftime show was good but still to this day Prince’s halftime show is my favorite. I love Death Metal. But the whole sorry about it and the rain. It was just AMAZING.
APPROVED BY MJ HIMSELF!!
So many examples of HOMAGES to the king of pop, this song is a banger and the video is absolutely incredible always puts a smile on my face!!
Yes!!! Was going to mention that, but ya beat me to it. Hah ☺️✌️
Yes brother plus he actually loved it and his family had them play at MJs tribute concert...the little kid is dancing in front of MJs childhood home as well...super homage to MJ and his videos.
Alien Ant Farm is severely underrated; even though they're only known for a couple of songs, their albums are bangers.
Just a well-executed cover. Sometimes rock music is just fun, and this is that. I've always loved it.
“Movies” is another good one from them. Video is great for it.
Love this cover! Another fun video by them people often forget about is the one they did for their song “Movies.”
Movies is a great song!
Yes perfect song
They are definitely not a one hit wonder. Of course that is obvious, or easy, for the fans of the band to say. But they have some great songs outside of this one for sure.
Attitude is another good song by them.
They actually got into a really wicked crash on tour and one person died and the band members got some pretty serious injuries and thats kinda why they just vanished-and seemed like a one hit wonder. its was AAF's bush driver that died in the accident
I grew up on MJ, and this is one of my favorite songs of his. I always thought they did a great cover!! They turned up the rock, without wrecking the song. And they paid homage to MJ and the original, in the song and the video, which shows great respect. They really killed it and I loved it right away when it came out!!🤘🤘🤘
Yep I agree completely, they kept all the hooks and melodies if original without ruining it. Was on the radio all the time when it came out.
They really love MJ and wanted to do it right!
Agreed. 3 thumbs up!
The drummer was wearing a bevis and butthead shirt. Best cartoon ever made! There was also a Wayne's world reference. I love videos love this. It's like a where's Waldo Easter egg hunt.
It's a Super Sloppy Double Dare shirt.
@@everyonelovesmajima your right I had to re-watch it lol. I remember double dare. I wanted to be on that show so bad.
In case you missed it, the drummer Mike Cosgrove was playing with a single sequined glove. Also gotta get to Movies, These Days and Glow.
The bass players uncle was an associate of Michael Jackson. They recorded the song and the uncle played it for Michael. He loved it. And he gave them carte blanche to do whatever they wanted for the video. Another awesome A.A.F. song is “At The Movies”
I remember that story, weird al did the same and he loved it and then asked al to do another one.

It’s just called movies
@@Wikcan Thank you for the correction.
Who told you Michael loved the video?
Michael approved this and loved it. AAF did a great job with it.

Loved Alien Ant Farm. I had their first album in high school and listened to it all the time.
BTW, that's Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers with the mohawk and Thriller eyes at the end.
Morning fellas! OMG! I remember this song/video! Such a fun one! (Hey that's flea at the end!) Lmao! Great choice guys!!🤓🤘❤️
These guys are fun to watch live. Saw them a few times with bands like Hed PE before this album. Once after. The dancing they do in this video is part of their show. Very animated band.
🎶🎸🥁🎸🎶 Aww! MJ + AAF = FTW!! Fantabulous reaction as always! Thanks for the jam session! P.L.U.R.R. from ATX!
This is my favorite kind of cover; doesn’t mess with what made the original good, just cranks it up to 11.
One of the best covers and videos ever. Sooooo many MJ easter eggs
Been waiting for this reaction guys! Awsome 🤘🎸🥁
That House is in Riverside SoCal, the Inland Empire! 🤘
I’ve always enjoyed this cover by AAF, takes me back to ‘01 middle school days. Nice reaction guys!
Saw them 2 yrs ago. They were still rocking
This has always been one of my all time favorite covers.
When you cover MJ, you have to bring your A-Game. And AAF brought it 1000%.
Movies is a great track
"Annie! Annie! Are you ok?" I don't know if that's still standard in CPR training, but back when I first learned CPR back in the 90s, that is how you would start when you came up to the practice doll.
By far the BEST tribute to MJ ever done
Best cover I have EVER seen… PERIOD!
So many MJ references and King of the Hill neighbors.
it looks like they filmed the video at a FUN PARTY 🥳 at a friend's house, looks like a great time
Smokey's correct, AAF started as punk/pop punk but also played nu metal. This song helped their album ANThology go Platinum.
they freaking rocked that song hard, loved everything about their performance and the video.
Yo-yo fellows that brought back memories good stuff and yes they are one hit wonder in my book. Also you guys are great to watch not fake like some other channels. Thanks for the laughs.
California vibes I love being a California sober resident love this track thanks guys watching from HB OC County
Alien Ant Farm - Movies is another classic by them. Always such a nostalgia blast for me.
Wicked bass player in this band.

Spot on with the Rescue Annie facts! AAF killed this homage to MJ!
This is one of those songs which i call a feel good song, doesnt matter what type of music you are into or what type of day you had..........if this comes on the radio then you cannot help jigging around to it and singing along.
i listen to cradle of filth daily yet i love this song.

These guys actually played at Michael Jackson's funeral asked their by the family and played at the memorial ceremony. They were actually one of his favorite bands. There was video on here at onetime.
I'm an old-school headbanger & I still loved MJ.
I was just jamming this other day
Best bassline ever.
Haha we made a time capsule when I was in elementary school… they built an addition to the school and a parking lot over it 🤷🏻♀️😆
Guaranteed my 14 year old niece does not know this song. She may have heard it in dance class or something but I’d be surprised if she knew it

Alice Cooper - Poison
I remember they played a live set on the rooftop next to BET awards and it severely disrupted the whole carpet walk 😆 🤣
Wouldn't call them a 1 hit wonder only because their very next song and video "Movies" was all over the place.
They sent video MJ and he wasn't keen with the kid wearing the mask..they re-shot the video without the mask, sent it out again and MJ got back to them saying he prefers it with the mask
Great band, they had another hit called MOVIES, which again is awesome
Great song tho guys
KEEP ON ROCKING 🤟🤟
Not a one hit wonder, Smokey! They had a bunch of good songs with great videos: Movies, Glow, and These Days. Their albums ANThology and truANT were pretty successful, but then they kinda disappeared.
I love how this video is like an homage to Michael Jackson and all his videos.
I like it better than the original!!! It rocks!
Alien ant farm has some killer tracks. Try let em know and our time from their latest album.
Such a great video and cover, it went all out
I think it was a tribute to THE KING OF POP
Maaaan I still be jamming to this song today!! 🤣🤣 these dudes definitely a one hit wonder tho. I listened to the album this came off of and no means to offend but not much else to hear
If you bros get a chance check out some Highly Suspect and The Amity. Also love to see more Primus and Static-X. And Mushroomhead too!

FYI Alien Ant Farm, from Riverside CA, either just released or soon will release a new recording, Summer 2024.
One of the few remakes I prefer to the original.
QUACK QUACK!!! Got to hear MOVIES by Alien Ant Farm
The whole album is good.

Fantastic cover that i think the guys would appreciate
I would argue that you should be able to go up to most people and say.... "Rollin down the street smokin....."
Check out their song 'Movies' it's a classic. They have other good songs!!
No matter what anybody says about Michael Jackson he was a musical genius.
Quincy Jones

Ok, rumor has it that the bass player, did all the high notes, of AAF was a friend of MJ's producer (or someone else that had direct ties \influence on MJ) He set up a meeting and MJ signed off on the video and song. Also, the song and video were made before UA-cam was a thing. So the upload year and the actual release year are different. It was released with MJ's permissions before he died.
Finally someone reacts to Alien Ant Farm 😆
I recommend their song Movies or These Days (which was guerrilla filmed at the BET awards)
Movies is another great AAF song.
Jokes aside this cover was 🔥
MJ’s halftime show was good but still to this day Prince’s halftime show is my favorite. I love Death Metal. But the whole sorry about it and the rain. It was just AMAZING.

They disappeared for a while after a bad tour bus crash wer people almost died and the lead singer had bad head trauma
