Love the Voodoo 👍🏻 Sorry for the long comment but I have to share this with you guys.
I've been building a foam board plane from scratch for about the last year. I finally got it finished this week and took it out for it's maiden flight yesterday. It flew great. It was a awesome feeling to build my own plane and greasing the first landing was the icing on the cake. hehe I owe a lot of it to you guys for motivating me to want to fly again after 20+yrs. Thanks guys I had a fricn ball yesterday and it was so thrilling I went back out today and ran 2 packs through it. My neck is killing me but it was well worth it 🤣
Again thanks for the awesome content and motivating my old bones to get out and FLY 😁👍🏻✌🏻
That purple and green color... looks like something the Joker would fly, at least the original Joker from the '50s TV series.
The flying up like that at launch is something programmed into the receiver (see page 10 of the manual under "Hand Launch") and it automatically adds elevator to get height and then turns this off (with SAFE On). Unsettling if you aren't expecting it but very helpful! This is a very quiet plane and super fun once we get the elevator mechanically trimmed up correctly for level flight at speed. Tends to want to tip stall at slower speeds for landing (I also removed my landing gear to make it a belly lander on my grass field). Great flying!
Great tips! Thanks! We honestly had No Idea about this important feature, as they never gave us the instruction manual or told us about this. Makes a person wonder 🤔🤷♂️⚓️
Good to know as I have this on one of my many wish lists 😂
You NEED to burn some sage around the VOODOO!! Other than the engine aimed UP, YOU rocked that repair!! Thanks Saylors for another entertaining video!! 💟👍😘
Hey NATE.... Go into telemetry, go into volts and setup voice notifications of your batt voltage every 30-45 secs or so.
No more alarms and no looking down. The TX will tell you when it's time to come down on 3S... 11.4-11.1 volts.
Did you read the manual? It says there is a “launch mode”. It senses the force of the throw and it gives elevator input.
I think you know the answer. Lol
Itsa, that just seems a little harsh! So, in all fairness, we didn’t read the manual, because we didn’t receive one. This video was filmed about a month before others got theirs through preorder. It’s great to know about that launch mode banshee! Thanks for being kind enough to let me know about that mode! I’ll take a look soon and hopefully set that up before my next flight 👍😁😎⚓️
What's a manual? I don't speak Spanish yet.
@@TheRcSaylors no problem. It seems this model has mixes that were installed at the factory, launch mode being one. It is suppose to disable itself a few seconds after launch.
I am a fan of the UMX airplanes. I have the Pitts, the Radian, the Turbo Timber, the A-10, the Night Vapor (love that little thing), and the Ultrix. Oh, and the old MiG-15, which was the first UMX (and the first EDF) I ever bought. I think that's it. :)
I did comment to a couple of the guys at the field this morning, that I'm tempted to pull the canopy off my UMX Voodoo and repaint the pilot. The pilot almost looks like it was the last thing painted, by which time they'd run out of all motivation.
you dont know how long i have waited for this umx , you said it why did they stop maken these gems.. now want the spit, and corsair, elct , i cant find this here in Norway yet but i want one soon ...thanks for your chanel weld done to the misses she great your a luck guy !!!!!
One of my favorites is my UMX Pitts! The Voodoo looks like a lot of fun.
I've got a bunch of thier umx planes...back when they had a great selection. Now they've ALL been discontinued! Some of us only have small areas to fly in!
It was great to meet y'all this weekend. I love umx and your videos. Keep it up ☺️
Thanks Jeremy! I just wish we had some stickers to give you 😁⚓️ Sorry we didn’t chat longer, but hope you had a great time with family on your trip! Safe travels 😁
Fast and nimble like a Dragon fly on steroids. Lol. Really neat.
Mine was very tail heavy on initial flight... Moved battery all the way forward, and adjusted the control linkage. Seems to be better now. Great flying little plane once adjusted.
Greetings and salutations RCSailors!
I have an earlier version of the UMX P-51 Mustang with the silver paint and military decal set. It is also a 19” wingspan model, but they have made a few changes to the aircraft, which they also did with the smaller P-51 that had the brushed motor and the 15” wingspan model, which makes it difficult to find parts for now.
The UMX version that I have does not have a battery hatch on the bottom, but instead has a hidden compartment in the upper fuselage with a space provided for the battery, and it has rare earth magnetic fasteners to keep the fuselage closed. It flies great, but I do not think that it would run on the 3-S battery, but I will look into it. My UMX Pitts Special also only runs on the 2-S battery.
I do think that they could and should make a lot more UMX models, and it would be awesome if they would also include some UMX models with retractable landing gear, as well.
Thank you for posting these videos, and for the links!
Please have an excellent and awesome day! ☀️✨
I say I! A umx for every plane Eflite standard size they make. ....and please start making the umx Geebee again . A Umx 3D Ultimate would be sick!
Hey nate , I was notified that I was selected for the dji Mavic 3 .how do I claim it. Thank you
I have the older regular verdion of this. It liked to climb immediatly out of a hand launch also...with the gear on! It likes to tip stall if you slow it down too much. Mine only flies on a 2s
With the technology we have nowadays with the micro electronics and such. It's too bad they haven't built micro landing gear? Retractable landing gear yet. That would be awesome. If they can build a robot? Why can't they build micro landing gear?
Oh, they can! It’s just a matter of, would it sell to enough people? It would be fragile, and people would complain about the price. Just my two cents 🤷♂️😅👍⚓️
They do have them i have a few sets
Just bought this. Beautiful plane.. however it wants to fly up. The nose keeps going up. I tried trimming the elevator all the way it didn’t help much. I have the cg correct but I am using a 2s battery 240mah. I wonder if the battery is the issue
Hi nate & abby! could you do a comparison between this and the eachene P51? i would love to see it!
Dang Dude you trashed that one fast LOL
Nooooooooooo I love that plane 😩
AYE!!! We need 500 UMX PLANES all with safe and 3s!!!!!
I say make em compatible up to 4s and bigger battery trays.
Brilliant video mate just watched its fast very fast 👍👏
All that elevator-down correction: any chance the motor did get knocked up a bit in the crash?
Yes it is very possible 👍😁 I’ve gotta do some wrenching for sure 😎⚓️
No one does that voodoo like you do, even after the boo boo. So you do that voodoo as only you can do. Abby you do great video-doo, even with Nates koo koo whoop de doo flying of his voodoo. ⚓⚓👍💜💚💛👍⚓⚓.
🤪😆🤣
Eye, eye,eye,eye,eye!
I'd say the incidents in the motor is pointing straight up👍🤣 good video guys
"We'll go talk to UMX" lol.
Probably have better luck talking to Horizon Hobby.
We need 500 UMX planes though.
They def need to start updating them.
We need retracts on these UMX planes.
Also, 4s.
Can the NX6 transmitter be used for this plane?
100% Yes 👍😁😎⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors thanks!
i just bought the eachene p40 and im super regretful i didnt see this vid sooner or i woulda bought this instead! oh well
Haha, I think I have UMXitus. I love all of my UMX planes. I'm hoping for either a UMX Radian with ailerons or a UMX Crescendo. Or both. Haven't flown my Voodoo yet but will as soon as the magic chimes let me know they're on the front porch. ;)
It kept climbing because the motor is at an upward angle due to the crash
I love my UMX planes aye aye aye
Nate and Abby, I am brand new in the rc airplane world and I greatly enjoy your videos! Did you ever made one on FAA registration procedure?
It changes too often for us to try and offer advice on the process, plus it is different for all people in different parts of the world. If this is something you feel you need to do, we recommend Google and go through the proper sources. Do NOT ask others in the hobby for advice because MOST are Wrong and don’t realize they are. Do your own research, which does not mean listening to UA-camrs. There is one in particular that makes a lot of videos on this topic and most of the time “they” are incorrect. Again, a quick Google search should suffice. I recommend getting AMA (through our links are a great start) and ask them after you’ve signed up and are a member. That’s what they are there for and what you are paying for. Happy Flying 👍😁😎⚓️
edit: just correcting a misspelled word.
Late squad tonight happy flying all 😊😊😊⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️
So I have the eachines p51 and spitfire and really like them and they fly pretty good. I haven’t flown in over 20yrs. I do fly drones but what are your thoughts on getting this for say someone like me that has flown the eachine. Only others I flew back in the day was like the old easystar and some stick planes
I just took my T-28 1.1m out for a flight and the wheels all rolled off their slots on a pretty good landing. It was pretty funny. All of the other club members were making fun of me for the rest of the day 😂
My v1 Mustang I only fly without gear
New to flying and love your show. I wanted to know which plane you recommend as a first time flyer. Also .I'm in miami florida
The channel will hands down recommend the Aeroscout S2 as a first time plane to buy. Search for the videos. It’s an absolute amazing plane. You won’t regret it
I Wanna Buy a New rc Plane my First was the wltoys f949 Now im deciding between the arrows pioneer or the umx Timber x or the aeroscout? What should i Buy?
Areoscout, also be sure to join a club.
*unrelated to this video...
Have you guys ever seen an rtf (or simple setup) for a foamboard jet?? I'm interested in destroying my first foamy, hence I'd like the full package in a single order with less shopping involved. Other commenter links welcome. PLEEEAAASE!!!!
Aye, I have a nice collection growing...
Abbey, you do great on video
Nate, do you feel at all that when you don't fly jets you maybe lose a little jet flying "feel" and confidence?
No wonder it climbed like crazy, the motor is severely out of alignment.
It’s far from perfect due to that crash, but she still flew pretty well. Time to snug it all up and see if we can get it flying smooth again 👍😁😎⚓️
I have the old blue UMX Sbach and she's super twitchy , but flys awesome. I installed a new 3500kv bl motor for the umx timber and what a difference ! That thing carves through the air .
Just bought this 2 hours before he posted.
GurppGurrrrppppp! Lol
W plane
Sweet plane
Super Fun and looks great! 👍😁😎⚓️
I just bought a apprentice airplane and went to flight for the 3rd time and they win caught it and took it off and how I am so sad I can't find it 😔
He looks so much bigger with that plan
Hahaha! 😂 Thanks for watching David! 👍😎⚓️
Is this ok as a first plane? I can fly a drone and helicopter.
Amen! Aye!
And they weigh less than .55 lbs so exempt from FAA RID. If I understand the rules.
That’s not even in play yet. To be clear. Keeps getting pushed back for all sorts of reasons. 💯⚓️
That's what happens when it plops. The bottom gets wet. Lol sorry I had to guys.
I eye 👁️ 👀 why ramp hard stay up
He’s getting really bad and telling you what he’s gonna do the last two filming‘s have been horrible with that little helicopter in this plane I need to smack them around a little bit!!!🤣🤣🤣
Aye 😁
wind

Abby did you see that tiny speck?
Umm what?
