One of the common misconceptions is that Waco is the same as Waco, Texas. It's actually an acronym for "Weaver Aircraft Company," originally founded in 1920 in Lorain, Ohio. While the city in Texas is pronounced "Way-co," the aircraft company is pronounced "Wah-co." The founders of the company may have gone with that pronunciation to differentiate the company from the Texas city. Waco airplanes are now manufactured in Battle Creek, Michigan, and the company is under the Dimor Group.

Great new addition from HH! Seems like it might also be MUCH quieter than the latest UMX Pitts which I think is a big plus (especially on 3S).

I caht get over how much I love the style of this era of sport planes. They got cool wheel covers(wheel pants) and the rounded wings and theyre all super colorful. Such a beautiful design. I hope I can afford one of these but Im sure its too much for a poor boy like me

Went to the Waco 100 year anniversary of the Waco aircraft factory in western Ohio this year. About 40 or so different models showed up. Perfect weather for the weekend. Met some great people and got to walk around and get close to the airplanes.

So excited to see this plane released again. I still have the original without all the bells and whistles. Before watching your channel I acquired the plane as my first in hopes of learning to fly and found quickly that I was in over my head lol. I still have the goal of flying this plane successfully but as of now it remains my proud shelf queen. This plane can now get me much closer to that goal with the safe feature. I love the color schemes and it is at the top of my Christmas list. Thank both for all you do fore the community.
If I did not already have a UMX Pits I would run out and buy a Waco. I really like the yellow one and I love the old biplanes from years gone by.

I don't like the yellow color for a plane on the shelf but for a small plane in the sky, that color scheme is a lot easier to "find" if you have to take your eyes off the plane
Yes; I shop at HK and love it. Furthermore I'm more readily accepted by the Australians 🇦🇺 & New Zealanders 🇳🇿. Heck, I even like the metric 📏 system. 😮
Amazing small planes are so stable these days. I had a blast with the pt-17 even though it needed more aileron. This one should fix that problem.

@8:40. I was really interested to see how this would land. I have a UMX Gee Bee that has similar flight characteristics, but landing it is crazy in any kind of wind. I tend to drop it gently on grass as it ALWAYS noses over.

many years ago i had a gws tiger moth biplane and it was an amazing slowflyer.
i would go for this one but they want you to spend $300 for the transmitter.

I'd like you guys to do a top ten UMX planes or a top 8 (however many you have). I like my Turbo Timber Evo the best followed by my Pitts, Gee Bee, Timber X, and Radian.

I’ve had the blue n white Waco for years. These are not new on the market. Had mine about 8 years now.. awesome flying. Landing gear is super weak. Unless landing on a hard strip. Remove the gear for grass of any kind.

How did you get two Nate! I went nuts seeing the ad for it this morning. It's ABOUT TIME. Mine died a few years back. I want the UMX Apprentice as well. Selling off some of my planes. So I can get those, plus make more room for my ground vehicles.

I do stupid stiff with RC's but never involving others, or their property. That's a cool little plane. Do you like it more than the newer Timber series? Those things are really sporty.
Personally, YES! Timbers are great, but I like things that are a little different. This fits the bill nicely for me. Looks great and surprisingly sporty and agile if you want to fly on the wild side! 👍💯😎⚓️
Would you recommend that radio over a RadioMaster TX16s? I have a Volantex and I'm hoping to get an Aeroscout soon. It would be nice to fly then both on the same radio. Would you recommend a multi protocol radio or Spektrum and just fly the Volantex with the included radio? Thanks!
Get the Radio Master tx16s. I went from Spektrum to Radio Master. You won’t be sorry. All my friends now have tx16s.

Ok so Waco or Pitts? . I still have my original umx Waco and pitts. The old Waco is blue and white. With the OG versions, I'd say Pitts over Waco

@@TheRcSaylors that makes sense. I tend to fly bipes a little harder anyway just because they well fly like a , but a brick with really good roll authority so that makes them fun to fly and challenging to land.

@@michaelr.4258 it's not a smart battery. Try turning off the telemetry for smart battery, but keep on smart ESC and that should fix it.

Very nice looking planes, love both colors, but yellow is my favorite. Surprised it handled so well in the wind for a small plane. So would this be considered a beginner friendly/ park flyer.❓️❓️. Liked how Abby was pushing your buttons on pronunciation 😂😂😂🤭🤭. Also waco vs wok-o. Now My 2 cents. I pre clarify this by saying maybe its my west coast ears 👂 🤔, but when you say colors 9 out of 10 times i hear collars. Maybe its Kentucky/ east coast , ❓️❓️. No, not mad like you on waco/wok-o just figure its how it's said in your neck of the woods ⛰️🏞⛰️. Plus i couldn't let Abby have ALL the fun.😄😄🥴🥴🤭🤭. They updated them, so yes. If it's anything like the UMX Turbo Timber, it's well worth it.

Off subject. What do you do with all of your airplanes you review over the years?Do you sell them somewhere online or do you give to the less fortunate etc.
Both! I sometimes sell things (usually airplanes) online because no one wants to receive something they would struggle to use. Like if I gave this airplane to a less fortunate person, they’d still need a TX and RX and batteries and charger. Not really helping anyone! Then I take the cash from the airplanes and make local contributions to families in need or to help fund local projects. Then if it’s a RTR vehicle, we will donate those to families in need that have lost their house in a fire or something. Hope this helps answer your question!! I do keep quite a few as well, but am at max capacity 😅❤️💯⚓️
For the price ( $159.99 ) of one ( 1 ) of these park-flyer ( 250gr ( 8.818oz ) or less ) aircraft, one can acquire a similar aircraft with exacting quality and a ton of stuff for less cost from the king.
Do you mean Hobby King? Because you’re rolling the dice with them. They are like a strong 50/50 right now if you even get your stuff. And if you do it’ll likely be very damaged. Let’s not even begin to talk about their shipping costs!!! And their customer service is a rock with a headset on….

Popeye is good! Nearly 10 years old, but still has the energy of a very young Popeye ❤️ Actually, he is a little over 10 now I believe. It’s just very difficult to even get our videos recorded at all, let alone if we brought the dog. We have VERY limited time to get out and make videos now, with two very young children. ❤️⚓️

I was flying in quite a bit of wind, and while “kiting” it, I was only about 35-40% throttle. Though I don’t recommend anyone fly in winds out of their comfort zones, this little Waco eats wind for breakfast! 👍💯😎⚓️

Good point! Usually UMX planes do have LEDs. Although this doesn’t feel like it “needs” it which is probably why I hadn’t even considered that until now! Lights never hurt anyone though. 👍💯😎⚓️

The plane was actually built and designed in Waco, Texas. The pronunciation is with a long "A". Whoever thinks differently is wrong.
