These battle reports are awesome!! You make them so much fun and educational at the same time. I've been playing the online version for almost 2 years and have had a blast! I'm learning more and more. Bravo Dr. Blaxill!!
Beautiful armies! I especially like the Warriors of Chaos one. I own 4000 ish points of OaG from different periods from mid 80's to the late 90's, all metal. These beautiful armies inspire me to do some refreshing of my old treasure. Thanks for the upload!
Love Orcs and Goblins from that era. You can see the showcase of the chaos army on another vid on my page. I'm very deeply committed to old armies...I can't see myself moving away from 80s and very early 90s- in my opinion the models knock spots of anything that came afterwards.
@@DrBlaxill I have moved on but I will always love and collect the classic models, and the feel from back in the days are unbeatable. I do look forward to fix my old boyz up and see what old school systems are used in my area. Cheers!
It highlights rather well the problem of no BSB. In a sense I was asking for it. Of course before 8th ed the BSB did not allow rerolls for panic, only break tests. There were also a few more situations where panics tests were taken, such as friends broken nearby and fleeing friends nearby. All that meant sometimes games were over in turn one because of panic alone....in 8th ed happilly these are rare.
Absolutely amazing batrep. Your battlereports are by far my favorite content in UA-cam at the moment. Spoiler Spoiler What a insane fight, and scary matchup for you. I never really liked big blue dragon baddie until now. =)
Delighted to count you as a fan. That sort of army is always vulnerable to cannons- in a more optimised list I take some trolls which can afford those monsters a measure of protection by standing in front of them and stopping the cannon balls.
Ok, to feed video with some more comments: I believe many of the viewers watch videos on small screens, notably mobile phones and such. Possibly it would be good idea to have some more close up shots of your beautifully painted miniatures engaging in melee or otherwise and add them to editing process. I know, i seen them all in your other videos, but you can never get enough of a good thing, can you?
Yes- I moved a piece of audio in the wrong place and only realised after upload. Although a cooler explanation would be a 13 was rolled on the reign of chaos table.
@@DrBlaxill nothing is documented, I assumed 50×75. Pain in the arse though as it's minimum 5x of them. I gather he's 50x50 so could sit on the end of the unit. Great game btw, would never have bet on the WoC after the first turn.
@@Jimbo818 I think it's quite important which they're on to their competitive effect- if I used them I'd ask the TOs on that. If it's 50x75 and Kayzak 50x50 I don't think they'd see any competitive use as too unwieldy. Yes, I agree, it took a bold from the blue (literally) to get me back in. As well as divine intervention.
@@DrBlaxill agreed and if one dies, Kazyk is then in cannon alley. I'm keen to give them a go though regardless. It's a good shout, I'll ask them to clarify- if standard cavalry, then pretty good I'd say (although i converted mine using mournfang and rotfly riders/blightkings..).
@@DrBlaxill ' As Kayzk himself is on a 50mm square then we think a reasonable base size for his rotknight would be 50mm squares too' that's what I got back in response.
Your stuff is always enjoyable! I like O&Gs, Empire and Dwarfs kinda, duking it out.. Chaos often feels like another league.. as do some other armies.. But it is none the less proper 8well, 6th Ed is) WHFB! :D The stuff looks great of course.
It feels like a higher fantasy matchup, special character laden chaos vs daemons. There's something low fantasy I prefer about some of the more tolkeinesque/medieval armies, but I get some of that from Bretonnia.
@@DrBlaxill Thought more about that.. Never thought about it that way.. I guess I enjoy the gritty, low fantsay, grim dark of 6th Ed more.. Like RPGing in The Empire.. But I do enjoy the other stuff too.. Just not with the same factions. Glad you made me realize that. :)
@@ja37d-34 I agree. Low fantasy is why I like the old world...as seen in WHFRP. My interest in chaos relate less to that, but more to a particular constellation of brilliance that was quite particular to the chaos army books of late 1980s (before then old world was as developed as it would become some years later)
@@DrBlaxill Fair enough. :) I have looked into some of the old stuff, I joined the hobby during 4th Ed WHFB but 40k, WHFB as 6th popped in. It is kinda fun how it swings back and fortha little. I mean from that grimdark 6th Ed to the, to me, more high fantasy 8th - which i was not really much involved in.. i did play a little WHFRP 1st Ed and got that nice feel about the world I still have, correct or not.. A bit like the Gotrek and Felix novels where there is the Empire but common folk don´t really see much else than humans.. And maybe a tail disappearing from a skaven.. maybe.. unless you go through the wild of course.. You might see Beastmen but that is probably the last thing you see.. What do you think happens with The Old World? As in game wise - all in or will you keep playing 8th Ed? Feels like The Old World might go back to 6th/7th Ed a bit. 8I kinda want it to, , no random charges, guess arty etc - but i can live with 8th Ed mechanichs I guess)
There is something unsettling about infinitely high hills...
Here's to more battle in the new year!
Indeed- infinite highness is something that might fit into the mortal realms quite well...but not so much the Old World.
Merry Christmas to us. What a great BR featuring some of the best on UA-cam right now. Thanks for the upload!
Who would have thought there would be infighting within the same Chaos faction - inconceivable !
I think the demon army was upset that the dear doctor diluting the Mono-Khorne battle frenzy.

Gz on the victory, looks like it was an epic game and both sides gave a lot of hurt out in a balanced game.
Gonna go watch it from Simons point now.
Sportsmanship is the only way to play this game. Great video!
I need more of this!!!
You have a captivating way of presenting information.
Wonderful description of the doom of the bloodthirster
A new battle report from Lord Lucius Blaxillius? Yes please!
Great video
Dieses Video hat mich wirklich berührt.
Another great battle Luke! Great bit of sportsmanship from Simon, or this would’ve possibly been the shortest batrep on the internet! 😂

unholy what in the fuck was this game. chaos vs chaos = chaos
cheers for sharing epic
Aprendi muito com este vídeo.
I think this came down to the Chaos Gods showing their displeasure about you not acknowledging Thrudd as your BSB.
Yes- he normally is! On this occasion he was but a humble rot knight.
@@DrBlaxill I hope you have learned your lesson...no one puts Baby, I mean Thrudd in the corner.
(Apologies there's about 10 seconds of sound distortion at the 19 minute mark)
Breath of change in a challenge or against a single target in combat. Any breath weapon is 2d6 hits there.
🙌
Loved this video! Will you be at the Firestorm event in March? Would love a game!
I'm going to the next Cardiff 8th ed event, yes
Remember Gorkamorka? That was good.
I remember it well- and Diganob.

Good idea...these also help add drama (just have to remember to take them)
18:47 uh i think too much chaos and there are some warp shenanigans happening with either the space-time continuum or the audio

Nooo, Rotknights were my secret weapon for the triple crown 😅.
I've converted them for monstrous cavalry bases though.
I wonder what bases they "should" be on? Kayzak seems to have been supplied on a 50 by 50 but no mention of what the acta Rot.knights should be on
