Just found your channel. Cool stuff. Your 30 coupe is sweet. Driving old hot rods is a driving experience some people will never understand. Not the safest or very practical for the mega family minivan drivers but they check all the boxes in the connection the operator has with the road and just the overall feeling of freedom they provide and the owners self expression and personal taste. They are NOT for everyone...and that's a good thing.
The entire drivetrain was removed from a corvette. Including the driveshaft and the complete rear suspension. I know what you’re saying... this one actually was.
@@markgriffin4888 There was one or two guys that went against the grain, but the Shifters started a movement , a craze, they shocked the Hot Rodding industry with their look and their cars. Unfortunately this original movement has transformed in to complete nonsensical ratty cars
Hi from Australia. that's a very cool hotrod A. The paintwork looks great well done! I have a 28 A model rpu and its a 4 speed too ,It's very limited for footspace as well but the sound it makes it worth it. Although the next one will be automatic .
That looks and sounds great doubt I could even ride in it and definitely couldn't drive it but it's fun to see it up close and hear what you used to build it, thanks
awesome-o! congrats on a running car. I'm workin on a '47 Ford pickup 2 ton might of been 2.5 ton not sure. Anyways, going to get a new frame for the foundation and cut the bed between 20 and 22 inches. That eight foot bed is to long. I'm keepin the flathead though going with a 5 speed t5. 4" drop axle in the front and putting the rear axle on top of the springs. Wish me luck brother. Keep riding!
@@ThisOldHotrod To each his own. It's still a nice enough car and that's probably all I should say about it. I've got my own '30 A Coupe on UA-cam somewhere. But it's painted in stock colours.
Great job on building the 30 A.!!!! Love them old style Carbs ! And them front little defenders. Dud you know how fix them street rods up old style. Keep'em going!
Thanks Andy. I’m glad most of you guys appreciate the work. Fenders were required back when the car was built. Rears were optional. Fronts were mandatory. He had lots of issues with the police with the car in the 70’s early on. Lots of “fix it” tickets he said. Nice nowadays not so much
@@ThisOldHotrod Right on! And I believe them type front defenders came off old harley davidson motorcycles I think. They was cool. And that's awesome and yeah my great uncle was a street rodder from the middle 60s and even still builds them today and he always had the ol fix it tickets too. Haha! The good ol days!!
Andy Smith these are spare tire covers that guys cut to make fenders. Pretty common to use 1935/36 Ford spare tire rings. They’re wider than the earlier models A and B rings.
@@ThisOldHotrod oh awesome. That's cool. I didn't know that was spare tire covers cut down. I know some guys back then used sometimes old harley davidson defenders too. That's why I thought it might have been. Haha! But that's awesome tho. Hey you don't a website to order from or maybe a round about price to get a set of them old chrome reverse wheels??????
I guess it depends on how the car is built and the drivetrain. But on average is say 1700-2000 pounds. Maybe higher with all the “fixings”. The 30 coupe cab get out of control quick if you’re not careful. I’m expecting the 34 Coupe to be the same if not worse with the hopped up Olds motor.
that's actually a louvered key chain from a old time local hotrodder, its a small run he did in the early 70'sd of stainless louvered keychains...he now does them in brass. his name is Roy Ideman he's a legend !!
This car is a great example of the hot rods I grew up with in the 50's
Thank you for the kind words.
Finally found the video of this car. Man I love it😮😮 To me it has the perfect 50s hot rod look.

I would certainly agree
Great looking rod, color is great too, I like red, black, blue like everyone else, nice to see something different..
Thanks for the compliments. I appreciate them.
My Pappy said "Son you're going to drive me to drinking if you don't stop driving that Hot Rod Lincoln"
Great color and interior looks super cool 😎
Everything a Hot Rod should be and nothing more
Thank you 🙏🏼
Nice Rod, wheels fit it perfectly
I appreciate that.
Very cool and awesome coupe.built traditional style hot rod
That's a really terrific colour. Nice work.
Thank you 🙏🏼
Nice coupe got the proportions just right. Seems like a good majority of small blocks in hot rods are always from Corvettes.

@@ThisOldHotrod That's what I figured! NICE car. People overuse the Corvette name for prestige I guess.
Rich S without a doubt.
Mike I really love the 30 model coupe and the 4 duces
Magic Car Mate!...Well Done!
Thank you so much
Thank God for the Shifters of Southern California - They brought back the resurgence in this traditional Hot Rod movement
I thought JIM JACOBS did with his model A phaeton which was HAND PAINTED in red

Nice !! Ya it makes it tough for sure. It’s tight. But like you said, it’s worth it. So much fun to drive now with the stick.
What I wanted to do to my '30 coupe when I was in high school.

Haha I need to do a video of my chopped channeled 29 sedan. Built that one entirely myself from scratch.
Very cool.
Thank you 🙏🏼
I like that interior a lot. Just wish you could have painted the body that same shade of turqoise to match.
I could have, however I didn’t want to paint the car torqoise. It wasn’t the look I wanted.

Andy Smith wheel vintique makes them to order. Any size, style and bolt pattern. Any back spacing you need also.
They’re about $200 per wheel.
Greetings from the international space station!
Very nice car. Any reason the door hinges and locks were flipped?
Doors were swapped from side to side helps with getting in and out of the car having the doors reversed and it’s a different look.
Olds kool 🏁
Love it what is the sedan setting over there
That’s my 29 sedan. Chopped channeled Flathead powered.
That’s what started it all 5 -1/2 years ago.
Beautimus!
great looking car ... any info on those front fenders ?
They’re 35/36 ford spare tire covers, cut down to make fenders. Very typical of the 1950’s here in Massachusetts
Cool......
Thank you 🙏🏼
What do these cars weigh ? Must have to careful when your grabbing gears. Nice to see you driving them

hi ya, what would you call that color? simular to an old VW color? cheers
I mixed it myself. It doesn’t have a name or color code.
what cam, pistons, crank, etc?
Stock bottom end w a comp cams thumper cam. I forgot the specifics.
Roller rockers, vertex mag, 4 97’s and long tube headers.
That’s about it
