First game I ever had for the N64. Played the crap out of it. I still remember the cheat code that unlocks all cars and tracks by heart. It's B A Z Z B L A C-Down. Good memories.

Absolutely loved this. There were different controls to choose from. I always used Junior RC: Handling was not as crazy and I never suffered from framerate issues. I was reluctant to sell my memory card with my track made in the editor.
I was really, really young when this came out, so I was all about exciting gameplay and could easily look past framerate issues and such. This probably explains my huge love for XG2. Re-Volt was my most played game as a kid, and I still love it today (On PC, especially). Running Ghost Town 2 in Reverse was really fun to me back in the day, because the AI would get stuck on a crate endlessly. I don't know why, but that really entertained me at the time.
I have so many good memories with this game! I didn't have an expansion pack so I was using the ''unlock everything'' code. I used it so much that I still remember it by heart to this day :)
i love the fact that you are an N64 channel but are still willing to recommend other platforms. As much as i hate to admit how CD gaming was better and hence the only 1 still used, the N64 will always be my favourite console
Awesome review! Thanks for reminding me of this game! I vaguely remember playing this on PC, but would love to add it to my N64 collection. Thanks for the video *****!
The dreamcast version is way better, I remember my mum buying me a dreamcast and this was one of the games. I miss that console, it's ashame mine broke for no reason.
I never got passed the first level because I thought the game was to difficult for me. Years later I went to play the game and found that due to age it no longer worked. As little as I played the game, I do have fond memories of it. I had the N64 Version.
It really is a great game on PC. There are so many fan-made cars and tracks for it, it's scary! Glenn, just for the sake of clarity, it wasn't WeGo that requested the game be taken down. WeGo had actually used a community-made mod without permission or credit. When GOG were contacted by members of the community GOG themselves decided to take the game down. WeGo never addressed the issue... DISCLAIMER: I'm not trying to stir things up nor am I involved in any of the shenanigans that went on. I just think it's better that people know that GOG and the RV community were positively active while WeGo actually took the money and ran. :)
I remember being annoyed that the Xbox Live version didn't come on the UK version of the demo disc as I was really looking forward to playing it online >.> But now you've covered this dude, you got to look at Micro Machines 64 soon complete the "scaled racers" collection on N64!
I had this on the PC and thought it was superb. Controling the twitchiness of the each car was half the fun, and you would pick a FWD, RWD or AWD depending on each track.
I remember seeing advertisements of this in my copy of Bust-A-Move 2 back in 1998 when I got my PS1, never got the game despite also being a fan of arcadey racing games

Ahhh the memories. A friend of mine had a PC and he had Revolt. We spent so many hours on it. I dont remember controls being hard to master but playing now... Yeah... they are a lot sensitive. Hah... as I recall his PC had just 64 MB of RAM. And when we tried to build the biggest track possible his PC refused to compile it because the lack of RAM :D
@@n64glennplant Yeah. Long time ago I found a strange release of Revolt. It happened to be community made. With new tracks, cars... Too bad we dont have somewhat of a sequel.

Glenn, I don't know why I never thought of this. You have reviewed quite a number of N64 games now, how is your collection looking? Close to complete?? I myself am up to about 80 games, but I have most of the ones that I really wanted so I am really satisfied with my collection. Great video!
The N64 version looks disappointing. I had it for Playstation and it was one of my favorites. The mobile version now is terrible and I really miss the PC version.
I remember playing this. I think it was the 64, but it could have been the Dreamcast also. I totally forgot it had combat though, I don't remember that part. I just remembered it as a neat RC racer, I guess that proves the combat part wasn't special.
As someone that is apart of the Re-Volt community, one part of your overview is incorrect. RV was taken down from GOG because it used the community made 1.2 patch with permission, so the community asked to have it taken down. Now, Re-Volt has a source port called "RVGL" and has already added many features such as custom skin selection, horns, and engine sound effects.

Re-Volt is an interesting concept but it is flawed horribly in execution,The controls are terrible and not realistic to the experience of driving a radio-controlled car. The sounds range from annoying whirs from the motors to clinks when your car unavoidably smacks into a wall or curb, that's about it.
