  • In Part 5 of our "Converting a TuffShed into a Gym" series of videos, we knocked out all the side walls, which was way more of a project than we anticipated. But, the gym is looking super duper nice now!

Not sure if you're thinking about inside window and door trim, but you might think of simple 1 x 3 pine boards, and copy the same trim style that they put on the outside trim. That way, there's no miter corners involved, and it would fit right in with the style of the shed. Also, you can hide those screws and nails by obtaining a small can (or even model-car) paint in a close color white, and just dab them with a small artist-style brush. You won't see them after you do that! Great job on what you've both done so far!!

Thanks for those suggestions! Yep we definitely plan on trying to hide those holes in the wall board.

Nice projects! Been busy myself. Missed your exploits the last 5 months. Susan would of offered my carpentry expertise, for your man cave. Mainly an excuse to visit for a day or two. We're the couple that sold you the microwave. We love watching you do projects! Susan & Gordy

So for those missed fastener holes in the panels I will call them that be creative with some caulk I mean very creative and see what you can do to fill them in.

Just remember being a contractor is not the same as being a carpenter nowadays the contractor is nothing but a job manager doesn't know hardly enough. We call them wannabes.

@@AStreaminLife I wasn't referring to you I meant most contractors have gone to Tech/Trade School to learn to be a contractor not a carpenter so when you ask them a question. Be leary of the answer. We know you're not a contractor You're some kind of financial advisor as far as I can tell and most of us aren't trying to be critical we're trying to help you build something safe but you don't listen sorry tough love. I've said this before You're not building for now You're building for generations from now. Yes even a shed you could die tomorrow that leaves that shed to someone else.

Actually those acrylic panels are supposed to be glued up not nailed you put up drywall you don't have to finish it and you just glue the panels to it and actually they were designed to go over not just drywall but green board yeah there's a lot to everything on the outlets when you think you haven't got the box in correctly they do make spacers that go behind the screws for the receptacle so you can space them out they're usually yellow or orange. I'm going to suggest that the floor that shed is just plywood and probably not spaced well underneath with the floor joists I think I would go over the floor with another layer of plywood Yes costly but you'll get a much sturdier and flatter floor 2 years down the line. Seriously check live load in Dead Load for that floor You're putting weight room equipment in there is it going to go through the floor? Also they put it on pads so those floor joists are spanning the pads are they two by sixes if they are they're not big enough.

Too late for the panels I guess.
We are going to put some soft flooring in there to help. We think that'll be good for our application. The floor was reinforced during assembly because of the weight that it'll be holding. Outlets were pretty easy, luckily.

Hi Steve, Those panels (FRP panels) are designed to be glued in place. You could have used liquid nails on the studs, top and bottom plates, and around the windows to easily put them up, without any screws or nail holes. They have the trim pieces at Home Depot for the butt seams and ends. FYI, I am now officially your neighbor, well about 30 miles away in McNeal. Dan
