    I love Grand Seiko's. BUT I saw this Seiko LX, loved it, and bought it. I have had it just over 2 weeks, and now it is my favorite watch.

    I have had the Seiko LX Spring Drive Titanium since 2019 and still own it. I have no complaints about it. It has a brilliant lume, much better than my Omega Seamaster. The Spring Drive movement is excellent and does not draw attention. In the current economic climate, where people are losing their jobs, it is not a watch that would attract criminals. Additionally, I found the video to be very informative.

    This is a beautiful watch. This is the watch I have been waiting Grand Seiko to make. It's a chunky watch so I wear this watch with casual dress or during the weekend. I haven't attempted wearing this watch with a dress shirt yet. My three complaints are that I wish Seiko included a half link for a more precise fit. Even with the micro adjust, the bracelet fits a little tight or a little loose. The second complaint is I wish Seiko put more effort in the case back design. Finally, I wish it was a mm thinner. It's 14.7 mm thick. It wears much larger than my other watch, the SBGA413 which is 12.1mm thick (Grand Seiko, Cherry Blossom). I am very happy with this watch and love how under the radar this watch is even in the watch community. If people overlook this watch or any of the Seiko Prospex LX watches because it is branded as a "Seiko", then that's their loss. Their is an immense value for the money at $5,500 here including a Spring Drive, a hand finished case, a sapphire coated bezel that plays with the light and a beautiful textured dial. Also, the watch was designed by a world renown industrial designer. A lot of thought was put into this watch and it really shows.

      @@timemeasured9137 its a great watch. My only complaint is that the bracelet doesn't have any half links. It would fit better if I had a half link. This was the watch I was waiting for Grand Seiko to come out with.

    I like it but trying to make up my mind between this and Omega speedmaster. Really looks nice and spring drive without GS. I do feel bad to GS collectors due to spring drive. Repairs may be an issue as not many can work on spring drives. Great vid.

    Sorry but I got so fed up with the QC they have on *to Me * quite expensive watches - £5/600. I'd just sort out misaligned bezels myself but crooked chapter ring d a crooked indecies I returned. It's got to where people accept it and expect it! I don't and won't anymore and with the prices shooting up I've stopped buying. That GMT is special! As you said its got something really special in the design. Even the power meter looks good on it!

    Very interesting watch, thanks for the nice review! I like the dial, the ceramic bezel and the beautiful dial texture. Nice smooth sweep of the second hand, too and a very nice subdued style. It's a bit thick for my taste though. I will bookmark it, maybe I get the chance to try it on to see how I like it.

    I have a GS variant of this watch, the SBGE275. While this Seiko looks really nice, when you get close, it really does show how far ahead GS really is. The dial, case, hands, markers, bracelet, basically everything is finished to a much higher standard. This is a nice watch, and I am not putting it down. The GS is just that good.

    • @DrNitin14
      @DrNitin14 2 роки тому

      I've owned both. Kept the Seiko. No it's not that much better at all. The GS bracelet is worse without the micro adjust. One area that could be classed as better is the hands. But overall case shape, markers, case design Zaratsu case polish are all equal on the Seiko.

    • @TheRealMafoo
      @TheRealMafoo 2 роки тому

      @@DrNitin14 @4:51 that is not remotely the same as the polish on a GS. The dial looks stamped, whereas the dials on the GS look cut. I agree the micro-adjust would be nice, and GS is behind the swiss when it comes to bracelets, however, the bracelet on the SBGE275 is better than other ones I have tried.

    • @DrNitin14
      @DrNitin14 2 роки тому

      @@TheRealMafoo the dial is not stamped at all. The Seiko brand is applied the power reserve is applied and raised as well. As for the Zaratsu that's not a great shot of it. I can't post a link externally but it is extremely good on the LX as well. Another key differentiatior is this titanium that looks like steel (and to this they use a special coating), the GS is steel and is much clunkier and heavier which is another reason I moved it on.

    • @TheRealMafoo
      @TheRealMafoo 2 роки тому

      @@DrNitin14 Yea, I don't mean the applied stuff, I mean the texture itself. compare @0:16 of this video, vs a closeup of a similar textured on a GS. You will see a rather large difference. Here is an example: ua-cam.com/video/kqsEbay1DHM/v-deo.html

    • @DrNitin14
      @DrNitin14 2 роки тому

      @@TheRealMafoo they are just different dial patterns. The Seiko wasn't made to be worse than the GS they are just meant to be different. Check out this video for shots of the case finishing and a different example of dial implementation of the LX line ua-cam.com/video/yKPJeX3mFOA/v-deo.html
