    You can now get the goggles bundled with a DVR for a better discount: bit.ly/EV100wDVR
    And Batteries (That I’m assuming won’t ship dead): bit.ly/EV100Battery
    I like these antenna on the EV800D so I’m going to order one of these: bit.ly/StingPadPatch and one of these: bit.ly/K-LoverleaveAntenna
    Starting on a budget I would really consider the EV800D still though: bit.ly/ev800d
    And if you can afford them the Commanders are the way to go: bit.ly/AomwayCommanderV1

    Eachine says the batteries have a protection circuit on each cell that prevents the individual cells from over charging or over discharging. If this is true, then a "dead" battery just means it got low enough for the cell protection to cut off the output, and it should charge back up just fine.

      +AlwaysTinkering AHH. That would do it.

    • @CopterPirates

      I think that was very clear from the way the housing looked and the battery giving out 0V. There is no way any unprotected Lipo would give out 0V with the plastic casing staying that rectangular ;-)

    Battery tip, just make up a small adaptor cord from xt60 to 5.1mm barrel plug and use any 2S battery you got and pitch the factory batt. You will still have balance lead for future DVR. You can also solder in multiple leads along with XT60 , like JST and XT30 so you can literally grab any 2s batt you have. No need to buy their batteries when you probably already have several 2S batts already.

    • @SimRacer101

      +Brad Miles that is exactly what I plan to do. Although I don’t have any 2S that big.

    I bought these for SIM use only as I have no inputs on my Attitude V4’s, so I am very pleased to here the picture quality is great. I don’t need DVR, I can Power from my MAC so they will be perfect 👌

    1:05 I like that they put the 3.5 mm AV connector pin diagram into the manual. everyone should put wiring diagrams in their manuals for essential connectors and stuff, in my opinion. would save the customer a lot of headaches.

      Lol I'm not an insider but I'm sure that'll happen at some point. They've updated their EV800 and VR D2 goggles so I expect these to receive upgrades too judging by how popular they are currently.

      i wouldn't be surprised if they sell the DVR separate for the V1 of these goggles, and for the v2 use the same guts from the ev800d and sell it at a higher price. like you said. the older ones would go on sale for the same as the preorder price. most likely.

    I've been using box goggles for years too, but I love em mostly because I can do a double fresnel lens mod to make the FOV huge and more immersive. I did order these EV100s at $99, but worried they won't feel as immersive as what I'm used to.

    I bought the VR007Pro earlier this year. They are comfortable to wear, but the picture quality is simply too low for me. Last week Banggood had there sale and I saw these goggles on sale for $99. I was seriously considering get them, but I could find any reviews. Therefore, I ended up getting the well-reviewed EV800D (for about $72). Suddenly, after the sale is over there are tons of reviews on this model. I'm a little peeved that Banggood didn't ship this model out for review prior to their big sale.

    Great review! Please forgive my ignorance as I'm new to the FPV game but how come you installed 2 different antenna's? The one set you posted in a link comes in pairs, can you not just use both of those on the goggles or is there a difference?

    • @SimRacer101
      @SimRacer101  7 років тому

      +Jason Rayner I didn’t realize the one link had two. But the round antenna is an omnidirectional antenna that will cover a circle around you. And the flat one will cover a longer area in front of you. So having both helps ensure you have the best signal possible.

    • @ashbai74
      @ashbai74 7 років тому

      Ahhhhhhhhh, great that makes total sense. Well if I don't win the ones from you LOL, I'll pick a pair of these up to start out. Can you recommend a cheaper flat one then the one you have listed that would work pretty good? That one is pretty pricey is all.

      DroneRacer101... And a mere 1000mah! Owners of the Fatsharks think their batteries are a joke, too expensive and not long enough time per charge. Nope, Aomway has the right idea, include an adapter to use any batteries we want...any already own! :) We want light, we can use a small 2s...we want long time per charge, we can use a large 4s! Nothing to buy, we already have many! Copying the Fatshark battery that Fatshark owners think is worthless, was not the right approach. Just stating the obvious to people who haven't used that type of battery. And, typically, like the Fatshark battery, they are way, way over priced. Now Aomway, they put some actual thought into what WE THE USERS want. Best idea:
      Buy the Aomway adapter for your EV100 's! That's the ticket! Lol

Okay, the V2 of those will be interesting, but I have not get if, having the VRD2, those are a "better" alternative, considering that I can record with the VRD2, that I like anyway, and see through those? It's worth the addictional pain or is bettercthat I wait for the V2????

      UgpFpv... Really, you think Fatshark will respond? I think not! When a company owns the market their typical, and smart, response is to ignore. Treat it like a fly on their shoulder, brush it off and move on. Now, if a pro model gets released in the future, with all the features the Fatsharks and Aomways have for a fraction of the price, then I believe they'd both have to do something or lose market share. Even better, is if the pro model innovates and has ground breaking futures others don't! Then us consumers have something other manufacturers can't ignore! That can only be good for the goggle market and pricing. But, respond now, I don't think they will blink an eye. The EV100 is a good first effort, but a serious contender they are not... Just left out too many necessary futures for anymore serious about the hobby. IMHO. (:^)

    • @SimRacer101
      @SimRacer101  7 років тому

      +Scott Rostad Agreed, mostly except for one thing. A year from now if every set of googles coming out doesn’t have adjustable diopters like these then everyone else is stupid. It will take while for others go get that though, and if it wasn’t for reviews I wouldn’t buy a set of goggles without them. They are that that good. Now maybe Eachine stole the idea and just got them to market first. But when others start doing it (and they should) it’s going to look like they are copying Eachine.

    • @ugpfpv361
      @ugpfpv361 7 років тому

      Think you miss understood my well written response, was laughing at the fact that some people think these are a copy of fatsharks, at least that's what I thought you wrote but looking at it again I see that it's just a general copying.

    • @gymkhanadog
      @gymkhanadog 7 років тому

      You do realize that there is no word in Chinese for "ethics", right? They all copy and steal from each other. Only patent laws in other countries stop them from actually making a buck off of their knock-offs internationally. RunCam3, anyone? Chinese knock-off of a modern square GoPro and it was squashed before release. Design patent infringement. If FatShark wanted to "copy" these, they should copy the price and screen adjustment mechanism, nothing else, and stop having Apple and GoPro syndrome; mediocre products with problems people just 'put up with' for a premium price.

      Also, you listed above the antennas you were going to buy... I'd buy the Menace patch... Inexpensive and most experienced pilots are using it now. They say it's the best patch. The other I'd definitely go with is a Pagoda! Proven to be superior in many tests. Better than $40+ antennas! And the best thing is it's using MB's design he gave away. (I can't remember how to spell his name... Lol).
      So, part of that open source agreement is that the manufacturer doesn't change his design and gives him credit. So, all Pagoda antennas are the same! Just a different cover to protect the antenna elements. Awesome thing is, you can now get the best for cheap! Around 5-6 bucks! I got mine from Gearbest for $5.40 each... Need one for your goggles and one for your quad. They have the Flovefly with nice protection. I think I paid just over $25 for the Menace and 2 Pagoda's! Cheap!
      Highly recommended! (:^)

      I haven't cracked these open (yet) to see what they are really doing. But what I expect to find is standard antenna diversity with two antenna connected to two inputs of one receiver. That receiver will watch the dB coming in from each and use whichever is higher. It's simple, but better than a single antenna. True diversity will have two receivers, they will both process the data, then a switcher will looked at the processed and and can make a better decision about which view is better. Also it can switch between the receivers with no loss. When the receiver switches between antenna in an antenna diversity system there is a higher chance of loss frames. But either of them should be better than a single antenna.

      I do like Pagoda's and your theory is correct, they should all be the same, but when it comes to manufacturing a smaller misalignment makes a bigger difference than is does on a cloverleaf. I haven't gotten any of the current batches since they have become more prevalent. I need to do that.
